River View Day Nursery (Hertford)

Highly recommend! Great staff and outdoor space/ facilities. There is a great staff to children ratio. Team work incredibly hard and support whenever needed. The app could be better but overall everything is good.

River View is a fantastic nursery in a lovely setting with caring and supportive staff.

The facilities are excellent with ample outside space with lots of open play and a fair amount of autonomy given to the children as to when they want to play outdoors or in.

The staff are attentive and supportive to the needs of each child and provide high quality care and take pride in their work. Staff seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs, they are personable and get to know each child as individuals and are good at recognising any issues that may arise and dealing with them quickly and efficiently. Feedback at the end of each day is informative but no overloaded, which we appreciate.

There is only one area I would make as to where the nursery could improve and that is in regard to their "no wake" sleep policy, which seems ill-informed and impractical for parents and siblings alike. We have been told this is a Child Base policy, not a nursery specific policy

I can't rate this nursery highly enough. My daughter has been attending for about a year and a half and genuinely loves it there. All the staff are amazing. So caring but also energetic and fun. I love that they get to enjoy lots of time outside often with new and creative activities. Would 100% recommend to any parents.

I am so happy with River View Day Nursery (Hertford). My daughter loves going there and I feel secure leaving her. The space is always clean and well maintained. The staff are really friendly and really support all areas of development. They have really great indoor and outdoor facilities. It is a little on the pricier side but it shows in the overall service delivered by the nursery.

I have two children currently attending Riverview day nursery. From the morning when we enter the building we are always greeted by friendly faces, members of the management team address us by our name interact with our children and ask us both how we are and about our day on both entry and exit. The level of care is absolutely exceptional and both my children are highly cared for throughout the day. The resources available in the rooms are fantastic and my children are always happy to go off and play when I leave. They receive 3 delicious meals a day and regular snacks and milk. I receive regular updates throughout the day of my children through the parent app of an activity they are engaged in and they always look happy. Key workers are constantly keeping me updated with developmental milestones and asking me if there's anything they can support us with. When I leave my children here at Riverview day nursery I know they are in a happy, safe, and clean environment.

River View Day Nursery is a fantastic childcare nursery with very polite, friendly, and professional staff who always make you feel welcome and the child's well being is their number 1 priority. I highly recommend this nursery as their day to day feedback is always spot on regarding the child's nap times and durations and meal/bottle consumption as their charts are very well organised. My daughter who is 9 months old loves going to nursery and is always happy upon drop off and pick up and has an amazing relationship with her key worker but also the other staff members in her room. They upload photos of the child's moments onto an app so you can see what your child has been up to throughout the day, from your work, which is brilliant.

When I viewed the nursery I felt so welcomed by the staff, not only showing me around but the other staff members in the room. They all had a positive vibe to them it was very informative. Me and my family instantly knew this was the place for us to take our child watching the staff members interact with the children and seeing how other children were so happy. They answered all my questions that we had. Since my Child has started, he has been super happy interacting with other children as well as the staff. He has got a good bond with his key person as well as others in the room.

River View has been fantastic with our 2-year-old son. He is in two days a week and they are so good with him. They are very caring about him and they take their time to talk to us about his day and keeping us updated about what happened during the day. They are also very good at following up on his development marking development indicators in their online system. Absolutely brilliant nursery with a big lovely garden too that our son loves playing in.

The staff at Riverview are incredible, they are so kind and caring and go out of their way to make sure my daughter is happy and well looked after. She always has great fun and really enjoys her time at nursery.

River View is an exceptional nursery. The staff are amazing - warm, friendly, incredibly caring and nurturing. Our daughter has been at River View since she was 10 months, she’s now almost 2 and a half. The learning activities are imaginative, varied and engaging for the children. We love that the kids spend so much time outside in the wonderful garden where they really engage with what’s happening around them in nature. Our daughter’s confidence, her independence, her language and social skills and overall development since being at River View have excelled far beyond any expectations. She loves going to nursery and adores not only her key workers, but all of the staff, and she has made lots of friends who she talks about with pride. The daily updates on the app and the detailed learning and development stories are fantastic. I could go on and on thank you River View, what would we do without you!

My daughter loves going to River View, and it's clear from the outset that all the staff care deeply about the children there. The family feel of the nursery means that it always feels warm and welcoming, clearly creating an environment my daughter thrives.

My daughter has been at River View for a year now, and she has truly shown visible improvements during her time at this nursery, from enhancing her social skills to learning to communicate effectively. The staff is amazing; they actively engage with the children and teach them to be independent. They are welcoming to both parents and children, making it easy to address any queries or questions about my daughter's learning. I can't praise them enough for all their hard work. Not a single day has passed where she hasn't eagerly wanted to go to nursery.

Our son has attended River View for the last 1.5 years. The staff are wonderful - we can’t speak highly enough of them. When he went through a difficult patch with food the staff came up with ideas to encourage him to eat more - which worked within a week. And when we asked for help with cleaning his teeth, they acted straight away and again he was engaged in cleaning his teeth at home that same week. It’s a fantastic environment and our son continues to thrive. We get plenty of daily activity updates and development updates which we appreciate greatly. Looking forward to our daughter attending next year too.

We couldn’t be happier with the decision to send our daughters to River View Day Nursery. Our eldest has moved through all the rooms from Jan 2021 to now in preschool and in every group she has been supported, nurtured and encouraged. When our younger daughter arrived, our toddler was so well looked after; staff knew how to manage her emotions around the change and gave her the attention and support she needed. Any concerns we’ve had have been taken very seriously and acted upon immediately, with proactive follow-up to tell us how our daughter has reacted to any changes made. Since our younger daughter joined the nursery in September, she has settled incredibly well and thrived in the new environment. The staff, including the administrative and support team, are amazing - it’s hard having a child start nursery and I can’t speak highly enough of the team for how they have supported me/our family with those anxieties. Amazing job River View, keep up the great work.

By far the best nursery in Hertford, in my opinion. The staff are so caring and willing to go the extra mile to support the children. My son has additional educational needs, and the staff at River View constantly come up with ideas and suggestions on how to meet his needs. Staff are willing to try new things and don't give up when things are not working. As a result, we have seen so many positive changes in our son's learning and behaviour. I highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a place that will support, nurture and care for your child.

River View is the most fantastic nursery. Both our children have attended, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone. Our daughter has had some short-term special requirements for her eyes, and the teachers have gone above and beyond to help, always taking good care of her and being enormously kind. She also loves writing, which is encouraged by the teachers.

We can only highly recommend it.

The rooms are bright and inviting, and the gardens are spacious with amazing veggie patches! The staff are creative with the learning and are excellent with feedback throughout the day and her development. We pass several nurseries to get to River View but it’s worth the journey as it doesn’t compare to the others in the area.

All staff have been very welcoming and reassuring, my son is always happy to attend and the staff are always accommodating to any needs my son may have.
