Bright Horizons Southampton Day Nursery and Preschool provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery boasts a beautiful garden that gives children a great environment for play and learning, with a fixed climbing structure, a peaceful decking area for relaxation and stories, and several natural areas.

Their unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well established Boogie Mites and myHappymind programmes.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Additional extracurricular activities include visits from 'Zoolab'.

The nursery also provides a nutritionally balanced menu, produced by a talented on-site chef.

We have been more than happy. All the staff are fantastic and very approachable. There is always plenty of different toys and activities for the children to enjoy, as well as a lovely outdoor space too. Our son started from Baby Care Room and now he is in Preschool room. I feel very comfortable approaching
staff with any problems, I know it will be sorted out together. Our son has done so well especially over the past few weeks, all thanks to a good team of supportive staff. The management in Nursery has been incredibly supportive all the time. Thank You!

Always caring. I have no complaints in regards to my child's care.
My little one has attended since she was 9 months of age and I have never had a reason to complain. All staff members are very kind and loving.

Our daughters have attended Teddies for over 3 years now and we couldn't be happier. The staff are all so friendly and listen to us and our children.
They have fun and we know we have left them in a safe environment. They go far beyond what I would expect from a nursery. Our girls are encouraged to
learn and explore every day and come home and impress us with their new knowledge. They speak very fondly of the relationships they have built with their carers and we too find their carers to be more than informative, to the point where we can ask for advice and tips. All new members of staff are brilliant too and we really trust the management to pick the best for our children.

Choosing a nursery was really hard for us coming from a small close knit community 8000 miles away but it was something that we knew we had to do. My son badly needed to mix with children his own age as we knew he was missing his friends. I also had a number of hospital appointments to attend so we
needed the help. I googled nurseries in Southampton. Bright Horizons had excellent reviews so we nervously emailed them. We had nothing to be nervous about, the whole team were fantastic right from the beginning, they were so friendly and welcoming that I knew right away we had chosen the best nursery we could have hoped to find. My son has loved his time there and we are so grateful to them for looking after him so well. Thank you.

My son started at Bright Horizons at 8 months old and due to a change in circumstances, we left after only 6 months of being there.
We have recently gone back to bright horizons and he is now in the pre-school there, the staff are amazing and he loves it.
His confidence has grown and he has flourished
being under the care and love of these knowledgeable people.
I would choose no other nursery.

The staff are always welcoming and make my children feel at ease.
They offer so many activities, and work with external groups - my son loves the ballet classes.
The food is cooked on site so I am extremely happy knowing that my children receive wholesome food choices.

I cannot put into words how much this nursery means to my family. They have been responsible for looking after both of my children and I must say that they are more than an organisation to us. Their care for the children is genuine and obviously based around the desire for them to grow into independent,
confident well-rounded young children. I myself work with children and know the challenges and difficulties that are involved in the education/child care role. This is something that Teddies Nurseries Southampton never show and the atmosphere is always calm and caring. The children are clearly at the centre of everything they do. Before having my first child, I was worried about whom I could trust to look after her. By the time my little boy was then ready for nursery, I had no such worries because I had already found the perfect nursery. I am truly grateful for the peace of mind that Teddies have given me and the fact that they have enabled me to continue to work and support my family.

My Granddaughter has attended Teddies Southampton from the age of 8 months and has just left to commence school. She is now a bright, confident and happy girl who has flourished whilst at Nursery. This has given her a positive start to her future.

The staff in baby care have been amazing with my son, they are always smiling and seem to love their jobs. They are all always on the floor at the babies level, interacting with them and playing. Since starting in April, he has changed key worker due to staff leaving but the transition was great and
he has a great bond with his new key worker. The room manager in babies has been fantastic in her new role. Also another staff member is amazing too, she greets every child, calms them when upset and just a great person to be around anyone child.

My daughter started attending Teddies nursery a few weeks ago at 11 months. Her key worker and all other staff are amazing with her (and other kids). She's happy each day to go in and the staff really make me feel comfortable and confident that she's getting the best care possible. They attend to all
the kids' individual needs and always take them all into consideration, even when it is really busy. I would recommend Teddies to any friend looking for a care place for their child. Thank you :)

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2016

Sarah has been with Bright Horizons since 2016, and from the very beginning, it felt like coming home to her. This warm, welcoming approach is evident in the setting she manages - a comfortable environment where both children and staff thrive.


With 25 years of experience working with children, Sarah finds immense fulfilment in her role as an early years practitioner. Witnessing children achieve and grow into lifelong learners is what she treasures most about her job.


She has extensive experience with children of all ages, from babies to preschoolers, and has progressed from an early years practitioner to the position of nursery manager. Sarah holds a BA (Hons) degree in children’s learning and development, reflecting her commitment to professional growth and excellence.


Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with her family and is a proud mother of two boys, aged 14 and 19. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, knitting, sewing, cheering on her youngest child at rugby matches, watching films, and cherishing moments with her immediate and extended family.

Kelly

Kelly

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Kelly has been a part of Bright Horizons since 2016, where she has steadily progressed from an Early Years Practitioner to the role of Deputy Manager. She also gained valuable experience as a Manager during a maternity cover period. Collaborating closely with Sarah, Kelly contributes to creating warm and welcoming environments for the families at the centre.


In addition to her managerial duties, Kelly serves as the nursery SENDCo, ensuring that each child's individual needs are addressed within the setting. She actively liaises with external agencies to provide necessary support for families throughout the process.


Kelly is passionate about exploration activities and believes in children learning through sensory experiences.


She actively engages in activities, fostering an environment that encourages children's learning and development across all areas while ensuring they have fun in the process.


Outside of work, Kelly enjoys getting lost in novels and spending quality time socialising with friends.
