Staff that really care and go the extra mile to make your child feel safe and happy. My little one cannot wait to get to nursery in the mornings. Regular feedback about my child's development is given through their dedicated app. Photos and videos are also taken for parents, so they can see how their child is doing. Staff listen to parents and work with them to implement any plans parents may have. The staff are very attentive and will discuss any change/new behaviours with parents.
The important thing that I would like to say, is my baby wants to come back the next day. I like the staff, they update us about everything. I like the manager, she is very kind and resolves our problems. We have the app and we know what's my baby doing every day. The kids learn, playing with other kids and we can work in peace, because they are in good hands. Thanks for everything.
My second child is now at this nursery. The staff have developed wonderful, personal relationships with the children (and still ask about the one who has now left). The team are open to suggestions and listen to views. My child is very happy here, he has a lovely smile when I mention his key worker or others, which reassured me while I'm working. My older child left the preschool in July, confident, interested in the world and definitely ready for school.
My daughter just started school and has been at Bright Horizons, Southampton since she was fourteen months old. As a mum, I wanted to make sure she was well looked after. Bright Horizons gave us the piece of mind we needed, from staff to facilities, to food, everything was great and our daughter has thrived there. We couldn't be happier. Thank you, everyone, you have done an amazing job!
Best nursery to leave little ones. The staff have got a lot of patience with the kids. They are so caring and kind. They do a lot of activities for the kids to enjoy, explore and learn. They keep the app updated with kids' activities throughout the day and share pictures/videos from time to time, which shows the parents how their kids are enjoying their days at the nursery. Lastly, my little one loves the staff and the nursery. I am very happy to send my little one here.
A lovely nursery where both of my children have been nurtured and developed by fantastic staff. They have worked so hard to get to know my children so that they can tailor their support to their needs and interests.
This nursery is fantastic. My son has special needs and can be difficult with transitions, but the nursery take every step they can take to support him and ease him into new situations. He has been attending for three years, since he was 4 months old and it's the best decision I made putting him in the care of the wonderful staff.
Bright Horizons are such a lovely bunch of practitioners. They are attentive and caring people. I love that I chose this nursery, out of a lot of choices in the Southampton area. Thank you so much for getting my little girl out of her shell.
Excellent nursery with such caring and lovely staff. My daughter started here at 11 months old and now she is over 2 years old. As long as she is there, we are at peace, because we know how well they take care of her. They play a lot of different types of games there, which helps the little ones with their development. They have a nice little garden where the children are able to run around, paint, roll in the grass, etc and just be free. The staff take a lot of care to make sure each child gets to grow at their own pace, in their own space.
My child has been attending for almost two months and I am so happy we chose this nursery. She gets so happy when we arrive, which is so nice to see. The venue is great, within walking distance to both home and work and there are car parking and bus routes nearby. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Other parents are friendly and positive too. The facilities are great, there are so many wooden toys and all sorts of activities for the children, which is brilliant. There is the garden too which my daughter loves. The price is fair for the service (nappies, wipes and food included!) it is better than other venues we viewed in the area. Communication is excellent - I can see when my daughter has eaten, slept, or had a nappy change, which as a first-time parent going back to work, has been great for settling my anxiety. They are able to provide vegan food, which was a factor in us choosing this nursery, as this is really important to our family.
My child started attending the Southampton Nursery when they were under one year old, which concerned me and made me a little anxious. Contrary to my expectations, the transition was incredibly smooth and they have been enjoying the new environment a lot! I am extremely grateful to the staff. In only a couple of weeks, I can already see that my baby has been learning and improving, in terms of their ability to move around, self-feeding and being independent. It is a lovely environment to be in and everyone is nice, relaxed and understanding.
Our first daughter started at Bright Horizons in March 2020 (3 days before lockdown!) and she's just been joined by her 1year-old sister. Over the last two years, we have been thoroughly impressed by the passion and commitment of every member of staff we/the girls have had the pleasure of dealing with. The team have created a wonderfully fun and educational environment in which the children can develop and the new app is a nice addition where we can check everything from meals to naps to bowel movements! No request is too much for the team (we use cloth nappies which they're very happy to accommodate) and we would like to thank them for their dedication to our little angels.
Fantastic nursery setting and amazing staff that are really dedicated to filling all the children's days with fun activities, with learning as they go along. The garden space is lovely and the rooms are all well cared for. My youngest is now in preschool and comes home singing the days of the week and phonics songs and lots of small things that I know will help her be ready to transition to school. Would highly recommend.
My daughter have been coming to this nursery since September 2020. From day one, they have put my daughter at the heart of their care. From settling in sessions that suited her, timings that worked with our routine and providing me support on returning to work, as much as my little girl leaving me. Every day my little girl enjoys the journey to nursery, keen to see who will greet her and what the day will hold, as she has so much fun that is tailored to her needs, development and interests. I never worry or have concerns whether my little girl is happy, content or having fun without me, as all the staff, from the management, key person, team, cook and cover staff address my little girl's time there to be effective. I have 100% confidence that despite challenging times in cost of living, energy and wages the staff all give 110% to make the children happy, safe and loved.
Overall experience is great. The staff are very helpful. But it would be helpful if the beginners could have shorter sessions. For example, the option the have 3 hours sessions for the first 2-3 months.
I moved house between having children, which meant my second child went to a different nursery to my first. Whilst I was happy with my first, it wasn't until my second child joined Bright Horizons that I saw what a difference there was. In particular, in the way, the staff here care for my child and really seem to love him. They know him and genuinely care about him. When he is off sick, they message to ask if he is ok. He has been going to Bright Horizons since 10 months old and he still loves to go in each morning. He gets a range of hot meals at lunch, which was important to me and a lot of time outside too. There has been a great advance in the feedback as well - with the introduction of an app that allows me to see what he has been up to and share pictures as well as notes, messages and general updates about what he has eaten/slept and done. That exceeded my expectations! I am so pleased with my choice at Bright Horizons.
My kid has improved his learning skills in just five months, thanks to the friendly and supportive staff. I would recommend this nursery to anyone I know. The improvement in his eating habits, singing rhymes, counting numbers and speaking three-word sentences, makes us very happy.
When my daughter first started at the nursery, she went in crying. After a time she went in happily and the tears stopped. The staff were very patient with her, encouraged her to join in and to tell them if she wanted something. Now my daughter talks non-stop about nursery, looks forward to going, has lots of fun there and has learnt so much. The staff are amazing with the children and show so much care towards them.
We were happy with the nursery up to the age of 2. After that, we felt that communication with parents has become poor. The verbal report that parents receive at the end of the day is not satisfactory as it mainly refers to the food offered to the kids that day. We would like to be informed more about the activities done during the day, whether our child likes specific activities so that we could replicate them at home.
We are sorry to read of your concerns.
I have spoken to the Nursery Manager, who has confirmed she is now working with you regarding your menu concerns.
We are about to launch our parent app which will aid communication with our parents, your child's key worker will also ensure they...
Excellent work I am very happy that I enrolled my child in this nursery, it is excellent and my son is very happy. Despite the difficulty we had with the language, he has learnt many things and all this with the help of the staff, they are very helpful in all. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart.

Meet the Team (2)
Sarah has been with Bright Horizons since 2016, and from the very beginning, it felt like coming home to her. This warm, welcoming approach is evident in the setting she manages - a comfortable environment where both children and staff thrive.
With 25 years of experience working with children, Sarah finds immense fulfilment in her role as an early years practitioner. Witnessing children achieve and grow into lifelong learners is what she treasures most about her job.
She has extensive experience with children of all ages, from babies to preschoolers, and has progressed from an early years practitioner to the position of nursery manager. Sarah holds a BA (Hons) degree in children’s learning and development, reflecting her commitment to professional growth and excellence.
Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with her family and is a proud mother of two boys, aged 14 and 19. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, knitting, sewing, cheering on her youngest child at rugby matches, watching films, and cherishing moments with her immediate and extended family.
Kelly has been a part of Bright Horizons since 2016, where she has steadily progressed from an Early Years Practitioner to the role of Deputy Manager. She also gained valuable experience as a Manager during a maternity cover period. Collaborating closely with Sarah, Kelly contributes to creating warm and welcoming environments for the families at the centre.
In addition to her managerial duties, Kelly serves as the nursery SENDCo, ensuring that each child's individual needs are addressed within the setting. She actively liaises with external agencies to provide necessary support for families throughout the process.
Kelly is passionate about exploration activities and believes in children learning through sensory experiences.
She actively engages in activities, fostering an environment that encourages children's learning and development across all areas while ensuring they have fun in the process.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys getting lost in novels and spending quality time socialising with friends.
