Acorn at Jubilee Wood is situated next to Jubilee Wood Primary School, located in Fishermead, a short walk from Central Milton Keynes. It is a 64 place nursery catering for babies and children from 4 months up to 4 years.

The nursery has two large garden areas plus an onsite Forest School woodland area. Outdoor play is a key aspect of Acorn’s ethos and the children benefit from spending time outdoors every day, whatever the weather. Included in the fees are regular Forest School sessions. These exciting educational experiences are suitable for pre-schoolers and are delivered by fully trained forest school leaders and offer an innovative approach to outdoor play.

The nursery is bright and spacious and offers free-flow access throughout each age group. The team work closely with parents and carers to develop children’s interests and skills, ensuring each of them reaches their full potential. A variety of imaginative and creative play activities can be enjoyed alongside regular outings and trips, and in addition to three large playrooms and a central hub area for messy play, there is a large hall for active play and a cosy sensory room which is very popular with all the children.

All the nursery meals are freshly prepared and delivered each day by Acorn Catering, which operates from the hub kitchen at their Shenley Church End nursery. They use local ethically sourced produce to create their delicious meals and all the menus have been designed to be nutritionally balanced ensuring they offer a variety of foods.

A home visit from the manager and your child’s key person is offered to all new families as children benefit from meeting their key person in a familiar environment, before attending the nursery for settling-in sessions.

They currently offer under 2, 2, 3 and 4-year-old funding and 30 hours funding for 3/4-year-olds.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

Great nursery with an absolutely amazing team. Very creative approach to kids education and entertainment, good facilities, especially the little wood, so kids are so close to nature all the time. And the overall culture of the place is the perfect place for kids.

My baby was very unsettled in a previous nursery and we decided to move her. She has recently started attending Acorn Day Nursery (Jubilee Wood). We feel this setting has suited her really really well. She's bonded well with staff and we feel it was a good decision to move her to Jubilee Wood.

Excellent facility, staff and management. The staff are very kind to the children and teaching kids as per the individual kid's requirement and ready to make changes to the facility and food as per the individual kid's needs. Can see a quite lot of improvement in my son's day to activities and communication.
Within a month, my son got adapted well to the facility and staff. He loves going to this nursery every day.

As I knew about this Acorn Day Nursery (Jubilee Wood) since my daughter's time, my son joined as soon as he turned two years old. In fact, it only took a few days for my son to feel at home in this nursery, and he now thoroughly enjoys his time there. It's really great that they assess children on their
2-year milestone and create development plans for them. The staff are all absolute gems, and they offer so many different ways to learn. I love how well we communicate with each other as parents. I'll recommend the nursery to parents any time. Last but not least, the management team has been very supportive in accommodating our schedule. Thank you for all your support.

My daughter (2) joined Acorn Jubilee Wood after we moved to Milton Keynes from London. She was in a nursery that she loved and naturally, we were so concerned about how she would settle into a new nursery, environment etc. We were delighted that our daughter settled in beautifully and has already made
strong bonds with staff members and her peers. She is happy when we drop her off and pick her up and names everyone in nursery (both at nursery and at home). She loves the huge outdoor/indoor space to play and explore to help her grow and develop. Every day the nursery has new things for the children to play with (cornflour/dough with different colours etc). The staff were absolutely brilliant in settling her in and now do an amazing job in making my daughter happy every single day at nursery - I am extremely grateful to them. I cannot recommend this nursery enough and the outdoor space is amazing and so important for children's development. Offer super useful workshops for parents to support positive behaviours at home - very comprehensive.

We are very happy with Acorn Day Nursery (Jubilee Wood). We have found the staff to be caring and patient. My son has recently started nursery for the first time in Acorn. Our son has been going to this nursery since he was 2, he's now almost 4 and I can honestly say he's a changed boy. He went in with very limited speech and no social skills. Now he won't stop talking and loves playing with other kids! My other little boy has just started, and we are starting to see

It was my first real Mother's Day since covid. The team organised a beautiful breakfast - juices, croissants, pain au chocolat, and lots of fruits. It is very joyful for her and it is so great to see my daughter in the nursery playing and see other kids as well.

I cannot fault the team at Jubilee Wood, they care for the children like they are family and they have been so accomodating. They have worked with me to solve any issue and attended to every need. The communication is always superb and the smile on my little one's face at each drop-off and collection

This is a fantastic nursery, we visited so many different nurseries on the search to find somewhere for my daughter to go that would provide the same care she gets at home. We came across Acorn at Jubilee Wood and knew instantly this was the one. As a family, we felt welcomed and the warmth and care
from the staff shone through. The facilities, the space, the organisation, activities, everything was fantastic and we signed up straight away. She started at 1yrs old with an allergy which they catered for, she wasn't made to feel different and the food is always nutritional. My daughter absolutely loves going to this nursery she doesn't like to leave! She is developing ahead of her milestones, there are always so many exciting activities going on, different things every day, more than I could do at home. I get updates every day with photos of what she's doing. Every single member of staff is amazing, I don't have enough good words to say, I highly recommend this nursery to everyone!

Jubilee Wood are absolutely amazing. My toddler has complex additional needs and the manager was so accommodating. I love that the children can spend as much time outside, as inside, and how the nursery is set out for play. Every member of staff was helpful, and happy!

Amy’s childcare career first began in 2008 when she started working for Acorn as a nursery assistant. She is very passionate about providing high-quality learning opportunities for all children and giving them the choice to experience things they may not have at home.


She has a Level 5 in Childcare and a real passion for working with children.

Cheryl - Deputy Manager
Cheryl began her career with Acorn in 2019 as an unqualified nursery assistant. Cheryl has worked across all the rooms in the nursery and gained her Level 3 in Childcare. Over the years Cheryl has worked her way up to become a Deputy Manager. Cheryl is always looking for ways to develop professionally and is currently undertaking her Level 3 Forest Leader qualification.
