A purpose built day nursery, specified by Childbase to the highest quality standard. Developed on behalf of the Stoke Mandeville Hospital to care for children of the Trust employees and the local community, Willows provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual. Willows Day Nursery has obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award.

The nursery has five main playrooms for individual age groups, including sensory rooms and additional sleeping areas. Outside is a large, enclosed and fully equipped garden with separate areas for different activities including a baby garden with a decking area. There is also a forest school, running sessions Monday - Wednesday. In addition to the daily routines, Willows also offer the extracurricular activity of Char Char Chimps to their under 2’s. They attend every Friday from 2:30pm until 3:15pm.

The preschool is the best it has been in the years all my children have attended. My son is happy, secure and stimulated every day he attends. The variety of activities and structure to the day gives excellent opportunity for the kids to really settle and interact.
I've not had any concerns over my
child's happiness and safety when he's there and he has made significant bonds with his carers.

Lovely friendly staff within Willows, not only in the room that my daughter is in but the nursery as a whole, everyone has a smile on their face. My daughter always seems happy when I pick her up and from the regular observations we receive, it looks like she has lots of fun during day and has settled

My son has been going to this nursery since about August 2018 and has come on leaps and bounds since he started. Most weeks he comes home and surprises me with something new he has learnt, like writing his name, which I never knew he could do. He is more than happy to go to nursery and often doesn’t
want to come home which I haven’t found with any other childcare provider.
Management have frequently gone out of their way to help me out with sessions when my daughter has been very poorly, which I can’t thank them enough for.
I have no hesitations in recommending the nursery to other parents and will be sending my daughter here to after maternity leave. One very happy mummy.

From the moment I was shown around the nursery, I immediately felt comfortable.
I was so pleased when my daughter managed to get a place here and they were very reassuring and comforting as I'd never left my daughter anywhere before.
All members of staff were and continue to be friendly, professional
and amazing with all the children that I see. My daughter overcame her separation anxiety with lots of support from the lovely staff and now gets very excited when she sees the entrance of the nursery! She is genuinely so happy there and clearly learns so much as she comes home with new skills all the time. Couldn't recommend any higher.

My daughter joined the nursery in November 2018 and I am so thrilled we managed to get her a place! The staff have always been polite, friendly and helpful. My daughter’s key worker, as well as all other staff in her room, can always update me on the activities she’s been involved in, how she’s been,
etc. and I know she’s completely at home with all of the adults in her room. It makes it so much easier leaving her knowing she enjoys her time there and her development has come on leaps and bounds in the last three months.

My daughter started attending Willows Day Nursery in January 2018. From the day I first visited to make an enquiry to my daughter's first day the staff at Willows were more than helpful and supportive! Since she started she has been thriving at the nursery, there are always different activities and
focused tasks for her to take part in. The staff have a genuine care for her that is evident in how they are with her. I also find the regular updates through the parent zone are a great way to see what she gets up to at nursery.


My daughter is always so excited to arrive at nursery in the morning and I often have to convince her to leave in the evenings. It makes me very happy to see how much she enjoys going to nursery and how settled she is there.

All staff are very friendly and approachable and singing from the hymn sheet. Care for my child is clearly of the utmost importance and protocol is followed carefully, eg. number of adults in a room to children, the form completed when medicine is given.


My child clearly enjoys his time at nursery,

I would like to hear/see more of what they've been up to, eg, a follow up from the activities planned on the newsletter perhaps? Or more photos on parent zone? I'm very happy with the food he is given and the amount of sleep he is having, he clearly feels comfortable and evidently loves the staff caring for him.


My only bugbear would be that the paint used, seems to stain clothes, I can never get it out!


Appears to be a team atmosphere, for example; reception and kitchen staff are also familiar with the children and everyone knows what they're doing.


Management/admin are organised.


Overall, I'm very happy with the care given.

I have been really pleased with Willows Day Nursery. My son spent 4 years at the nursery and he has developed really well. The nursery have greatly supported us. Staff are friendly and caring. Facilities are good.

Both of our grandchildren have been at Willows over the last six years. They have both been very happy there. The staff are superb. They show great care towards the children and genuinely have an affection for their charges. The happy disposition of the staff transfers to the children. I am sure my
grandchildren have gained greatly from being there in their development and general education.

Willows has provided top class child care to both of my children (over the last 6 years) and I cannot fault them at all. 100% effort, love and dedication 100% of the time. The staff are always happy and smiling (special mention to certain staff). One member of staff is always smiling when I walk in
and even if I have had a bad day at work she always makes me smile. My children love Willows and the staff there and they should be highly recommended for their service.

My son has settled in so well, everyone has been very supportive towards me as I’m a first-time mum and it was hard to put my son into nursery but I know I can call them 10 times a day if I wanted to and they would not get annoyed. My son has a lovely time at nursery and I’m very happy with it.

My lb has settled well at nursery. The staff are wonderful and supportive of your parenting choices. I love the online learning journey as it keeps me updated on the activities he’s participated in. We have been so happy with Willows Day Nursery.
Our son joined when he was 20 months old, as his first childcare setting, and he settled extremely quickly. All of the staff, not only in his room (Ladybirds) but also throughout the Nursery, are kind and caring. On approach to the nursery, he will now
say another child’s name (who he is now good friends with, before the age of 2!) and he will run down the corridor to his room. He is so so happy here, and we are so happy with the care he is receiving.
We love the online observations & pictures that we can check daily! Watching his progress is absolutely amazing - he has come so far since joining Nursery!
Outdoor & indoor equipment are excellent. Always new toys and topics to explore every day.
Amazing staff, a lovely & clean setting and a truly wonderful place!!

Every day we are greeted with smiles and welcomes from all members of staff, be it the front desk or staff in the rooms. Everyone is always so friendly and will spend time chatting about my son’s day even though it might be a manic pickup time. My son was not quick to settle but every effort was made
to make each transition as smooth as possible. Thanks to your hard work he is now super happy at The Willows.


A big thank you to his keyworker in particular, I literally have never met a more smiley person, even at the end of a busy day! She really goes the extra mile as far as communication is concerned and is so easy to talk to, as are all the other ladies in the room. I have no doubts when I’m at work about the care he gets, which means so much as I can switch off and concentrate on work until pick up time.

Willows are fantastic. They have really helped my son settle in well and he has come on so much since starting there in the summer. I felt that they really listened to me with regards to his fussy eating and trouble napping and the updates that they give via parent zone are very comforting and helpful
to see that he's enjoying himself there. Willows have also been fantastic at helping me out when I've had to change my work schedule or my other childcare arrangements have had to change and they've been able to sort out extra days or swapped days where they can and have never made me feel like I'm mucking up their schedule! I would definitely recommend them.

What is your favourite feature of Willows?


My favourite feature of the nursery is the garden and Forest school area as we have recently had these renovated.
