A purpose built day nursery, specified by Childbase to the highest quality standard. Developed on behalf of the Stoke Mandeville Hospital to care for children of the Trust employees and the local community, Willows provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual. Willows Day Nursery has obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award.

The nursery has five main playrooms for individual age groups, including sensory rooms and additional sleeping areas. Outside is a large, enclosed and fully equipped garden with separate areas for different activities including a baby garden with a decking area. There is also a forest school, running sessions Monday - Wednesday. In addition to the daily routines, Willows also offer the extracurricular activity of Char Char Chimps to their under 2’s. They attend every Friday from 2:30pm until 3:15pm.

Daughter moving up to big school this month after 3 and a half years full time at Willows Day Nursery. The staff team have been fantastic with preparing my daughter for her transition. Overall I have been very satisfied with the level of care, range of activities offered and encouragement for my daughter
to progress into a confident individual.

Very caring environment, really helped my child settle well. He is now looking forward to pre-school. Always welcoming. Great feedback on what he has been doing and eaten. Outside area- stimulating and exciting.

My son started at The Willows when he was six months old. I was understandably nervous at leaving him at such a young age however he has settled in incredibly quickly and really enjoys his time at nursery. I was concerned about the impact of losing one-on-one time with me with constant cuddles and encouragement
however I needn't have worried. All of the staff know his name, not just those in his room, and they all say hello and smile at him. He gets lots of cuddles and feels happy and secure enough to explore the room and play on his own as well. He's full of smiles as soon as we go through the front door and it's such a relief to leave him happy and smiling every day. I'm a strong believer in parents and educators working together for the benefit of the child and I feel I am able to do this with his room staff. There is a reassuring blend of routine and flexibility, cleanliness and messy play which is ideal.

What is your favourite feature of Willows?


My favourite feature of the nursery is the garden and Forest school area as we have recently had these renovated.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?


I am proud of how the team pull together when support is needed.
