Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool in Reading provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery operates from a beautifully converted Victorian house, spread over two floors, with seven spacious playrooms and outdoor play areas for your child to explore. The garden itself boasts a separate baby area, a sandpit, sensory stations, all-weather areas and is set within a spacious courtyard.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Their fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks, nappies and wipes- making the mornings a smooth process for their families. Their meals are cooked on site and they follow guidelines in order to ensure their menus are nutritionally planned.

Lovely nursery with professional and caring staff. The nursery is clean and tidy with lots of toys for the children.


I have been a parent at the nursery for approx. 2 years and cannot rate this nursery enough. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we visited the nursery and the standards

of care have never dropped. The staff team in my child's room are amazing and always tell me how his day has been when I collect him.


The nursery recently provided a free children's first aid course for parents. I, unfortunately, could not make it but I thought this is a brilliant service that helps us parents feel more confident with dealing with our children if they became unwell.

Abbeymore is a lovely nursery. The staff are professional and friendly. They made us feel very welcome and helped me to adjust to going back to work. I thought the free settle sessions were brilliant. They really helped us as a family to get to know the nursery and staff. I was able to sit in the parent
room whilst my daughter was having a visit so I didn't feel too far away. The children's rooms are lovely, clean, bright and have lots of toys. The children are always happy and busy.

After visiting numerous nurseries in the area I have to say that Abbeymore stood out far more than all the others. The welcoming management and staff team, the lovely building, the happy children and the feel that you get as soon as you walk in and know that this is the nursery for my child. We have
now been at the nursery for a few months and my child has settled well. We did have some tears but I was warned of this when we first started. We were given free settling sessions where my child could get to know the room and her new friends. The staff in her room are so lovely. When I pick her up at the end of the day they tell me about her day. She has always had a lovely day and comes home tired but happy. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and comfortable

Absolutely love Abbeymore!


Choosing a nursery to leave your baby at is a big decision, it involves a lot of trust and I am so glad I chose Abbeymore. My eldest has been there 4.5 years and he is so happy there that I have chosen to send my 1-year-old also even though we are no longer local. The

staff are amazing, they are so kind and caring yet professional.


My son loves them and he will miss them so much when he starts school in a couple of weeks. The activities they do are great, they have such fun whilst learning and I am always surprised at what he has learnt each week. They teach the 3+ year olds zumba and football which is great. It is clean, spacious, they have great resources and there are always new toys to play with. I can always rely on my boys receiving a good healthy meal while they are at nursery and they always come home with full tummies!


I would 100% recommend Abbeymore to anyone considering it!

We have not been at the nursery long but my son has settled in the Bluebells Room extremely well. The staff are helpful, friendly and they have done everything to make my time going back to work very easy. The room supervisor spent time with me talking through what my son would be doing throughout
the day and how he would be learning. All the staff take time at the beginning and end of the day to take me through his day. I have noticed he is eating better at nursery than he does at home. The manager and deputy have also helped my husband with his child care vouchers. We had no idea what to do but they made life so much easier when we sat down together. I was anxious about my son going to nursery, but I would highly recommend Abbeymore Day Nursery to anyone.

The staff at Abbeymore are amazing. I could not have found anywhere better for my son. The staff are friendly, caring, warm and affectionate.
The activities they provide for the children are excellent. The attention to detail is superb.
I love the building itself. It is warm and cosy and the smell
from the kitchen makes you hungry even at 8am in the morning.
The little extras that the management provide is also great for parents. Every month they provide a takeaway breakfast for parents. I do not think they realise how much I appreciate this when rushing off to work. Thank you

Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool has been excellent for both of our children. Our son has just started primary school, and the transition from Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool to school has been seamless. I think in a large part, it is down to the work and development they spend with the children
in getting them to used to school such as routines, but also in the interest and excitement they instil in learning before school.

Our daughter was at Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool from 1 years old all the way through pre-school. Over the years she developed in many ways and has excelled at Abbeymore, especially in pre-school. This is evident now that she has started school and is very independent.


The staff at Abbeymore

Day Nursery and Preschool are enthusiastic and very caring and develop a great fun and respectful relationship with the children.


The learning programme in pre-school has been amazing and helped our daughter get a "head start" at school.


The weekly newsletter is a great way to keep in touch and know what each area of the nursery is doing, as well as communicating ad-hoc visits or events.


The children also did other activities provided by external organisations, eg football, Zumba and music. Great for confidence and team building skills.


An extremely valuable 3+ years of early development and learning for our daughter. Thank you everyone at Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool .

I can not praise this nursery enough. My child started at this nursery 8 months ago and is the happiest he has ever been. he loves his keyworker and all the staff in his room. Their dedication to their work is amazing. The nursery is clean, spacious and has lots of toys for the children to play with.
I cannot wait for my child to be in pre-school. The activities I have seen and heard blow my mind. I would also like to say my child has never eaten better food. Great staff. Great nursery.

My son has thrived at Abbeymore due to the amount of love, care and attention he receives from the outstanding staff members. Abbeymore is a lovely nursery where my child has flourished. The staff love and care for all the children as if they were their own. When we first started at the nursery my child took a while to settle (he had never been away from me before) the nursery was flexible with our visits and were very attentive
to his and my needs.
I have been at the nursery at different times of the day and the children are always happy and busy doing lots of activities.

Great nursery, supportive and reliable throughout my son's progress. The transition from one stage to next is brilliant. Impressed by the food in particular the new winter menu looks fab!! Putting my child into nursery was a huge step for me and the support given by staff members was hugely impressive.
I couldn't recommend Abbeymore enough.

Both of my daughters have attended Abbeymore Nursery, the eldest who is now 10 and the youngest who is four and leaves at the end of this month. They've both established really good relationships with their key workers and know all the staff at the nursery. It has a nice close knit feel to it where
I can talk to any member of staff and they know who I am and my daughter. They've always been happy when I've dropped them off and they love the food too!


I'll be sad when my youngest leaves nursery in a couple of weeks as she's had such a great time there. My daughter has become so confident and independent which will give her the best start when she starts school in September.

My daughter has spent almost 3 years of her little life in Abbeymore, full time since she was 13 months until she was almost 4 years. We have been extremely happy with the care of the nursery and the staff, always so supportive and focusing on her needs. She has been so happy there, she still talks
about nursery almost every day although she finished 3 months ago! I believe that she has grown into a lovely little girl, with good manners and always caring about others and loving animals and nature so much thanks to Abbeymore. She has adapted so well into Reception at school thanks to her experiences in the nursery. I also value that the staff have always been really stable since she started and they really listen and take actions when needed, and try their best to please.

I have 100% confidence in this nursery. The staff are fantastic and the management are always cheerful and happy to help. I feel that the staff have played a large role shaping my son's development. I would strongly recommend Abbeymore.

My daughter has attended the nursery since she was 10 months old, I made the decision to keep her at Abbeymore until school instead of moving her at 3 because of how happy she is to go and how she beams about her day. She has developed fantastic play and social skills which has been supported and encouraged
by the amazing team. Come September 2016 she will be starting school, although it will be a sad day saying goodbye to her friends, I know she will be ready for the transition and thrive. So thank you Abbeymore for ensuring She has had the best start.

Love Abbeymore and everything that comes with it.... x
I was so nervous leaving my 13 month old after spending a whole year with him and never being apart. He cried... I cried... but the ladies at Abbeymore made it all OK. Never make me feel silly for calling in loads during the day... they go the
extra mile to help the babies settle (and mine has found it tough) it is wonderful to watch them at work. They care for your baby with such love and affection. He is learning so much and is pooped by the end of each day from having so much fun!! The food is wonderful too - trying lots of new things! I am so glad we chose Abbeymore and looking forward to him growing and progressing through all the different rooms x

These guys are doing a very good job in taking care of children. I was worried, like every mum is before leaving my one year old to nursery. Now I am so happy about the way she is being taken care of. I felt she has become more active than before. All the nurses there, are very friendly and kind. They

Job Title: Nursery Manager

"Education is the most powerful weapon with which you can change the world" - Nelson Mandela.


I grew up in sunny South Africa where the people are as warm-hearted as the climate. Both my parents worked in education and taught us the importance of working hard from a young age. I spent my childhood playing outside and have fond memories of climbing trees and making mud pies!


After the birth of my daughter, I developed a keen interest in how young children learn and develop. Knowledge is power after all. I enrolled on a BA(Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies and went on to train as a Primary Teacher based in a Reception class. After the birth of my son, I worked in a private day nursery as a Preschool Teacher and later a Deputy Manager. Most recently, I have completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years at the University of Reading with Early Years Teacher Status.


I live in Wokingham with my husband and two children. In my free time, I enjoy going for long walks in the countryside with our beloved Golden Retriever.


I hope to impart my knowledge and experience to my team so that each child in our setting can reach his or her full potential. My goal is to provide children with meaningful early years experiences so that they can develop a thirst for life-long learning.

In 2012, I gained my qualification in Early Years: Childcare and Education, and joined a very small private girls' school faced with potential closure. After becoming co-educational, I successfully helped build up the Early Years Centre to operate all year round with wrap-around care.


Looking for a new challenge, I was warmly welcomed to Abbeymore in November 2022. I look forward to seeing what I can bring to the Nursery in my role as Deputy Nursery Manager. I am extremely passionate about giving children the best possible start to their lives and using my experience in a school to prepare them for school life.


When not at work, I enjoy taking long countryside walks with my partner and our lovely dogs – a Border Terrier and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
