Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool in Reading provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery operates from a beautifully converted Victorian house, spread over two floors, with seven spacious playrooms and outdoor play areas for your child to explore. The garden itself boasts a separate baby area, a sandpit, sensory stations, all-weather areas and is set within a spacious courtyard.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Their fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks, nappies and wipes- making the mornings a smooth process for their families. Their meals are cooked on site and they follow guidelines in order to ensure their menus are nutritionally planned.

Our journey with Abbeymore began when our son was 2 years old. The staff has truly set it apart. Their dedication and care for the children is evident in every interaction. From the warm greetings at drop-off to the detailed updates at pick-up and through the app. As a parent concerned with nutrition,
it was reassuring to know that our son was being served nutritious meals prepared with care. The menu reflects a balance of health and taste, ensuring that little ones are not just fed, but nourished in every way. Each day is filled with a variety of experiences designed to stimulate young minds and bodies. From creative arts and crafts to outdoor adventures, our son comes home excited to share all the new things he has learned. They focus on teaching the children different cultures the enrich their understanding of the world. We couldn't be happier with our decision to choose this wonderful nursery and preschool, and we are immensely grateful to be a part of the Abbeymore family.

Our daughter really likes going to this nursery. She receives a lot of attention and care. The staff always takes into account my requests for wishes in child care. And I would especially like to note the general manager of the nursery, she is a very attentive and understanding person, always tries
to do more and more to make children and parents feel as comfortable as possible.

Abbeymore has great facilities and accessories. It has been the ideal place of learning for our son, laying down the foundation from Nursery to Preschool. Our 4-year-old has been at Abbeymore since he was 10 months old, and we are very happy.
There's plenty of outdoor space, and the staff are great at providing varied learning and play activities. He has made good friends here and enjoys all the food. Our child has a medical condition and SEN, and at
times, the staff have had to go above and beyond, and at all times, the care has been excellent. The SENCO has been great at coming up with plans and activities and supporting us.

My daughter thrives in this nursery where the staff are great - very supportive, nurturing and fun! The outside spaces have just been renovated with new mud kitchen and lots of free play activities. It’s a very happy and vibrant place that my daughter just loves.

For 2-year-old, best place to keep them is Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool, compared to my child's previous nursery, this is much better.
Staff care about children, console them when needed. Overall, it’s been a great experience with my child, even arranging additional settling
sessions and flexible with nursery times.

My boy is very happy here. All the members of staff are kind, thoughtful, caring and helpful. We always receive an individual one on one hand over at end of the day.
It is a well-run nursery, management is helpful and always looking for ways to improve Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool.

My son started in the 0-2 years room (Blossoms) at Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery in January this year. We were keen to have him interact with more children his age which had been impossible during the lockdown. So we enrolled him for two days a week. The settling in sessions were brilliant and
in two weeks he was happy. He has been attending Abbeymore for almost four months now and the change in him is enormous. His language has greatly improved, he interacts with people more confidently and has made strong bonds with some of the staff. He is always excited for his nursery days. He also absolutely loves the food (including the new menu) and I’m glad he gets a wide variety of food at nursery that he is unlikely to eat at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Abbeymore to other parents for their little ones.

We are so happy with Bright Horizons Abbeymore as our choice for our son's preschool. Even with all the new restrictions and changes due to Covid in the last year, they have managed to make sending our son to school a smooth process. He absolutely loves his time at preschool and can’t stop talking about
everyone and it’s lovely to see what he’s been doing that day with the feedback forms he comes home with. He’s come on leaps and bounds since he started and I know a lot of that is due to his time at school and the lovely staff that work with him.

Our daughter has attended Abbeymore Nursery for almost two years now and she loves it! The staff are excellent and she receives brilliant care from all of them. Our daughter is always telling us about the different activities she does at nursery and it's been great to see how these activities are helping
her learning and development. The food provided always sounds varied, healthy and tasty which is really reassuring. I'm really pleased we chose to send our daughter to Abbeymore Nursery.

My son attends Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool and he is extremely happy - the staff are warm and welcoming to us on a daily basis. The nursery is clean and well presented and I understand it's just in the process of finishing a revamp which has made the rooms more practical for the children and
staff. There is a large garden located at the front of the building which my son loves and has learnt to ride a bike.

I have found the nursery to be communicative anytime there is an issue with my daughter which is very important to us. The staff are very professional, warm and caring since my child joined the nursery back in February 2018. I have noticed a lot of development within her. As there is room for improvement,
the nursery is taking the right steps towards this.

I have 2 children here both love it. We were at a different nursery for the eldest which was not as good an experience for him as now.
Some policies are "stupid" like medicine only with a temp.
Rooms my kids in are Buttercups and Daffs.

We are so happy with the care and support our grandson has been given since starting nursery. He's settled in so well due to the amazing staff and, even though we were very anxious we could not be happier. He runs into the nursery so excited and doesn't want to come home when collected. We have already

I can not praise this nursery enough. The nursery itself is lovely but the staff are the most professional and friendly nursery staff I could ask for. I have only seen happy children and this reflects from the happy staff. My child's keyworker has made us feel so welcome and that no question or query
is silly. As first-time parents, the nursery team have made us feel so comfortable to go off to work and leave our child at nursery.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

"Education is the most powerful weapon with which you can change the world" - Nelson Mandela.


I grew up in sunny South Africa where the people are as warm-hearted as the climate. Both my parents worked in education and taught us the importance of working hard from a young age. I spent my childhood playing outside and have fond memories of climbing trees and making mud pies!


After the birth of my daughter, I developed a keen interest in how young children learn and develop. Knowledge is power after all. I enrolled on a BA(Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies and went on to train as a Primary Teacher based in a Reception class. After the birth of my son, I worked in a private day nursery as a Preschool Teacher and later a Deputy Manager. Most recently, I have completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years at the University of Reading with Early Years Teacher Status.


I live in Wokingham with my husband and two children. In my free time, I enjoy going for long walks in the countryside with our beloved Golden Retriever.


I hope to impart my knowledge and experience to my team so that each child in our setting can reach his or her full potential. My goal is to provide children with meaningful early years experiences so that they can develop a thirst for life-long learning.

In 2012, I gained my qualification in Early Years: Childcare and Education, and joined a very small private girls' school faced with potential closure. After becoming co-educational, I successfully helped build up the Early Years Centre to operate all year round with wrap-around care.


Looking for a new challenge, I was warmly welcomed to Abbeymore in November 2022. I look forward to seeing what I can bring to the Nursery in my role as Deputy Nursery Manager. I am extremely passionate about giving children the best possible start to their lives and using my experience in a school to prepare them for school life.


When not at work, I enjoy taking long countryside walks with my partner and our lovely dogs – a Border Terrier and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
