Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool in Reading provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery operates from a beautifully converted Victorian house, spread over two floors, with seven spacious playrooms and outdoor play areas for your child to explore. The garden itself boasts a separate baby area, a sandpit, sensory stations, all-weather areas and is set within a spacious courtyard.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Their fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks, nappies and wipes- making the mornings a smooth process for their families. Their meals are cooked on site and they follow guidelines in order to ensure their menus are nutritionally planned.

Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool is based on Wokingham Road in a great location which is a short distance from Reading town centre with great transport links to London surrounding areas.

When we moved to the area our main objective was to find the perfect nursery for our boy.
We visited many but Abbeymore stood out and we felt right at Home. Settling in was hard but but the ladies did everything to make sure our boy ( and mommy and daddy) were happy.
My son eats lovely meals, has
fun in the garden and does awesome activities. He has learnt so much already.
I feel confident and happy dropping my boy off in the morning knowing he is in safe hands.

My son transferred to Abbeymore a few months ago, following us moving house and relocating from another nursery. We're really pleased with Abbeymore. Our son has settled in well, enjoys the activities and loves the garden time, especially the pre-school garden which is a good size. This week he has
made some pizza at nursery and loved it! Staff are friendly and he has made good relationships with several of the staff.

Great experience with the nursery, excellent empathic staff, good facilities (well maintained too), very approachable and helpful. Overall really happy.
A note the food is also good, varied and nutritious - Peeta.
I saw a positive.change in my child's demeanor and willingness to go to nursery when
he moved to preschool, showing the staff works wonders supporting the children with the room changes and adapting the activities to a new stage.

Abbeymore is a brilliant place for babies and toddlers under the school age, our son has been there for around a year now and we are throughly pleased by all the staff, activities and care. The nursery has amazing facilities and prides itself on great learning development through play. The outdoor place
is far larger than the surrounding nurseries we saw.
Staff make the experience great they have genuine connections and care for the children. They will go over and above to ensure everything is right.
The app is always updated with photos and progress and the teachers always give a handover at the end of the day.

Sometimes the app filled in for the day does not reflect what my son ate for the day and when I collect him to ask about what he ate for lunch as it was not record. The staff cannot tell me.
Overall my child seems to love nursery and is happy there. He goes running in. He has developed a bond with
one staff in particular.

Both of our children have been / are very happy at Abbeymore. The facilities are excellent but it is the staff that make it so special and my children have created forever bonds with the people that they have spent time with there.
As a full time working parent it is a really important to me to know

Wow! Abbeymore is outstanding. Aesthetically & from the hearts of all who work there. My daughter has just completed her settling in period and as a parent, I cannot rate this nursery highly enough. We have transferred from another BH nursery due to a relocation and I'm so pleased we found Abbeymore.
Management have been nothing but supportive, kind, understanding and approachable.
Room staff have been outstanding and always keep you updated with pictures and feedback - so reassuring!
The children seem very happy. They have ample space to play and a huge garden that they can access at all times. The activities they undertake make me want to join in too!
I have absolutely no doubt that my daughter is in the best of hands. Drop offs still remain a little upsetting but 5 mins into her day there, she's happy and tells me so much of her day upon pickup.
I feel sad that this wasn't her nursery from when she first started.
Highly recommend. And that's coming from a 'particular mum'.

Would highly recommend Abbeymore Day nursery. The management team went above and beyond to ensure our daughter was fully settled in before starting at the nursery. The nursery is bright, clean and spacious and very well organised. Both the key staff members assigned to our daughter were exceptional
and very easy and lovely to speak with. One member of staff, in particular, goes out of her way to ensure our child's needs are met and always assures us by providing additional information when required. The management team are also very hands on in the rooms interacting and taking care of the children.

Joined Abbeymore in September 2024. The place looks amazing, feels like my child is at home - very cosy and warm with positive vibes. No feel of being at an institution. Lots of indoor/outdoor activities and great hygiene. I always find my child happy and with the same energy as I left him in the morning
and this is a good indication for me that Abbeymore is doing a wonderful job. In addition the fact that Abbeymore is open till 6:30pm, it takes away the stress of pick up
by 6pm. Sometimes traffic can be bad and knowing that 30 minutes extra is there it makes a big difference. Am super happy to have found Abbeymore for my child. Thank you Abbeymore, for all your wonder efforts in my child's development and great experience growing up.

The manager and the team have really brought new life and energy to Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool. Both our sons are currently at Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool: one in preschool now having joined at 7 months old and one in the baby room who is 15 months old. We have had a brilliant experience with the nursery. The team go above and beyond for the children and our boys have great
relationships with their key workers and other adults.
The nursery regularly hosts events for parents to attend - which has been lovely to see the daily experience offered at nursery and chat to staff and other parents.
Over the last couple of years, we've seen huge changes in the environment and it offers a calm space with plenty to keep the children occupied and exploring effectively. The outdoor area, in particular, has changed a lot and the children spend a lot of time outdoors whatever the weather.
A brilliant nursery!

My daughter has attended two Bright Horizons Nurseries. After one closed down, we transferred over to Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool. It's been fantastic so far. The staff are very happy and nurturing to the children and their needs. My daughter is always happy to go to school.
As usual, clingy in the mornings but once I leave she goes to her usual happy self playing and making friends. She's very comfortable there and talks about her friends and the garden. I especially love seeing the photos and details of the activities they do daily. The management of the branch is especially attentive and helpful.

Our first child started his journey at Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool in 2023. In that year, his speech, social skills and confidence improved greatly. So it was a no-brainer that we enrolled our second this August to begin his adventures at the nursery too.
He was so attached
to us initially but the staff worked with us to get him settled at his own pace and without distress. Already, I am beginning to see changes. He gets involved in creative activities prepared by staff and he comes home so excited and eager to put his newfound knowledge and skills to use.
I would definitely recommend this nursery.

I grew up in sunny South Africa where the people are as warm-hearted as the climate. Both my parents worked in education and taught us the importance of working hard from a young age. I spent my childhood playing outside and have fond memories of climbing trees and making mud pies!


After the birth of my daughter, I developed a keen interest in how young children learn and develop. Knowledge is power after all. I enrolled on a BA(Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies and went on to train as a Primary Teacher based in a Reception class. After the birth of my son, I worked in a private day nursery as a Preschool Teacher and later a Deputy Manager. Most recently, I have completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years at the University of Reading with Early Years Teacher Status.


I live in Wokingham with my husband and two children. In my free time, I enjoy going for long walks in the countryside with our beloved Golden Retriever.


I hope to impart my knowledge and experience to my team so that each child in our setting can reach his or her full potential. My goal is to provide children with meaningful early years experiences so that they can develop a thirst for life-long learning.

Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager Joined: 2012

In 2012, I gained my qualification in Early Years: Childcare and Education, and joined a very small private girls' school faced with potential closure. After becoming co-educational, I successfully helped build up the Early Years Centre to operate all year round with wrap-around care.


Looking for a new challenge, I was warmly welcomed to Abbeymore in November 2022. I look forward to seeing what I can bring to the Nursery in my role as Deputy Nursery Manager. I am extremely passionate about giving children the best possible start to their lives and using my experience in a school to prepare them for school life.


When not at work, I enjoy taking long countryside walks with my partner and our lovely dogs – a Border Terrier and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
