Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool in Reading provides high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery operates from a beautifully converted Victorian house, spread over two floors, with seven spacious playrooms and outdoor play areas for your child to explore. The garden itself boasts a separate baby area, a sandpit, sensory stations, all-weather areas and is set within a spacious courtyard.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

Their fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks, nappies and wipes- making the mornings a smooth process for their families. Their meals are cooked on site and they follow guidelines in order to ensure their menus are nutritionally planned.

Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool is based on Wokingham Road in a great location which is a short distance from Reading town centre with great transport links to London surrounding areas.

I always feel like the staff really care about my child. I love dropping her off and picking her up, the team is always so welcoming. I have attended the parent days, I can and love being able to see my child in her setting. The updates on the app are really useful, especially at the start when you're
used to being with your child all the time I found it much easier being aware from her seeing what she was up to. We treasure all the things our child comes home with - paintings, Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts. A truly fantastic team.

My daughter started at Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool when she was 9 months old and she is nearly 3 now. She absolutely loves going in and talks about all the staff in her room. The room leader is so caring with her as well as all the other staff in her room. They always listen
to anything I have to say or change with her routine and are always happy to adjust it. Getting regular updates on the app also gives me peace of mind. The management always have their office open ready to help in any way they can. I feel so reassured when I leave my daughter and can happily start my working day.

Our son started his journey at Abbeymore three months ago when he was 10 months old. Since then we have so much improvement in his physical development, confidence, and social skills for which a lot of the credit goes to the team at Abbeymore. He enjoys his time there. They line some some fun and learning
activities for babies, excursions, offer different textures and tastes of healthy food and snacks, and pay particular attention to any special needs or dietary requirements. We get daily feedback from his key person on his day. Together our son and his key person have established a very good bond which has really helped him settle in. Would highly recommend Abbeymore if you are in search of a nursery that has it all covered!

We are very happy with Abbeymore Nursery. My child is now going five days a week and cannot wait to be dropped off. He always comes home with something new he picked up in the nursery, a new dance, maybe him carrying his own plate or a new sound he makes. We absolutely love seeing the pictures the nursery
uploads daily, never get enough of those! The activities are creative and educating, we feel Thomas is being looked after well and the nursery is very well set up for many things we would not be able to do at home. Observations of the individual children are also really helpful to us parents to see how our kids are doing. And it's lovely to hear when they are all clever or discovered a new skill.

After a very poor, neglectful previous nursery experience, I was very reluctant for my daughter to try another place. My trust had just been lost.
Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool has been nothing but amazing, all staff are very nurturing and caring and really hear the needs of the
child and parents' requests. I feel, as a first-time parent, they really settled my anxiety and even more importantly, my daughter loves going to nursery now.
This place is a 10/10!

Bright Horizons Abbeymore Day Nursery and Preschool is an amazing nursery. My daughter really loves going to the nursery. The staff members are extremely caring, friendly and helpful, they genuinely care about the children and their development. The manager of the nursery is so efficient and supportive.
The indoor and outdoor facilities are excellent. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Since our son has been there, the nursery has come on in leaps and bounds. The garden refurbishment has raised this nursery above all the others we've seen. The staff are kind and caring and take time to settle the children in. We've noticed that management is regularly visible in the room and our child

I was an anxious first-time mummy looking for the right environment for our baby boy, it didn’t come easy looking at options in the local area until I stepped into Abbeymore!
The initial tour was very informative, welcoming, with each room offering beautiful activities where all children were happily
engaging with each other and staff.
Our little boy has settled amazingly, it’s a home-from-home environment. The room staff are always there to greet us with a smile in the mornings, we are kept updated throughout the day with updates and beautiful photos via the app. The management team work hard, they are approachable and always present during drop off/pick up.
Thank you Abbeymore for creating such a nurturing environment for our little boy, we look forward to his adventures with you as he grows, learns and develops!

Our son has SEN and they have done a lot to support him. They communicate a lot with us to have continuity between home and the nursery. He loves going there and feels happy to stay. All staff are very friendly and it feels like a big family. I would definitely recommend it.

My child started at Abbeymore in the 0-18 month class and quickly enjoyed attending. They are now in the next class and still love attending, it's hard work to get them to leave at the end of the day. The staff are lovely and definitely are invested in caring and teaching the children. The management
is very approachable and helpful. The app is updated frequently which provides a great update throughout the day.
The garden was redone last year which is now a wonderful space to play, I've not seen many local nurseries with such an impressive garden space.

My son started in the baby/1-year-old room (Lillies) in December. The staff have been really welcoming and he seems to be really enjoying his days there. The staff are very attentive and seem to enjoy their work spending time with the children and he is comfortable going to any of them. We get regular
photos of what he is doing and updates on how various activities support his development. He gets a wide variety of food and eats well every day. The management is consistently present and involved and overall it feels like a well-run and welcoming nursery. Really pleased we chose it.

Abbeymore is a very friendly and welcoming place. The staff are always friendly and give us a lowdown of what our child has been up to during the day.
Being a key worker I needed flexibility, and Abbeymore has been very accommodating with this.

My daughter absolutely loves her nursery. She has been there from 13 months old and now she is two. Her learning curve has been tremendous during the entire course and she is a very confident toddler now. The staff are very caring and loving and very professional too. They provide kids with play areas,
music classes, endless activities Indoor - outdoors. It is very easy to contact the staff and managers via their app system/phone. Always very quick to answer your queries!

I visited many nurseries before settling on Abbeymore. The facilities are excellent with lots of parking, lovely outside space and lots of equipment and activities for the children. But what makes it stand out from other nurseries is the people. The management team are excellent, very understanding
and spends regular time in the rooms alongside staff and children. The staff are absolutely incredible, they are all so friendly, and understanding and many of them have worked there for a long time. They feel like an extension of my family, that they truly care about my daughter, and I feel the joy from them as she reaches her milestones. The app they provide is excellent and the updates and photos I receive always make my day, and they go to a huge effort on the open days. It’s difficult having to leave your child in regular care of someone else while you are working, but every time I drop her off I feel comfortable and fully reassured that she is being taken care of.

My daughter absolutely loves going to Abbeymore. The staff in preschool is amazing, the whole team works very well along with the children and gets them involved in a number of activities. Great environment created for the children, lovely big garden for outdoor play, experienced and friendly staff.

We absolutely love Abbeymore and our children do too! Our son was at Abbeymore for 2 years and our daughter started in November. Our son loved his time at Abbeymore and developed so much in that time. The staff were always helpful and friendly. Our daughter has struggled to settle in, however we have
been supported with the transition at every step. After some suggestions from the manager, she is now starting to enjoy her time there and the staff are trying everything to help. Thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of our children and for helping them grow in so many areas!

I grew up in sunny South Africa where the people are as warm-hearted as the climate. Both my parents worked in education and taught us the importance of working hard from a young age. I spent my childhood playing outside and have fond memories of climbing trees and making mud pies!


After the birth of my daughter, I developed a keen interest in how young children learn and develop. Knowledge is power after all. I enrolled on a BA(Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies and went on to train as a Primary Teacher based in a Reception class. After the birth of my son, I worked in a private day nursery as a Preschool Teacher and later a Deputy Manager. Most recently, I have completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years at the University of Reading with Early Years Teacher Status.


I live in Wokingham with my husband and two children. In my free time, I enjoy going for long walks in the countryside with our beloved Golden Retriever.


I hope to impart my knowledge and experience to my team so that each child in our setting can reach his or her full potential. My goal is to provide children with meaningful early years experiences so that they can develop a thirst for life-long learning.

Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager Joined: 2012

In 2012, I gained my qualification in Early Years: Childcare and Education, and joined a very small private girls' school faced with potential closure. After becoming co-educational, I successfully helped build up the Early Years Centre to operate all year round with wrap-around care.


Looking for a new challenge, I was warmly welcomed to Abbeymore in November 2022. I look forward to seeing what I can bring to the Nursery in my role as Deputy Nursery Manager. I am extremely passionate about giving children the best possible start to their lives and using my experience in a school to prepare them for school life.


When not at work, I enjoy taking long countryside walks with my partner and our lovely dogs – a Border Terrier and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
