Cherry Trees is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art nursery on the Cranfield University site.

Providing large spacious rooms and a fantastic garden, children’s imaginations are inspired on a daily basis by the established and experienced practitioners.

Cherry Trees also offer the extracurricular activity of Starshine Yoga every other Monday and Tiny Mites music on a Thursday.

A fully inclusive service is provided to all families offering a convenient service.

My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed her eight months at Cherry Trees Day Nursery and especially the bond she developed with her first key worker.
Every single member of staff that I, myself, have interacted with has been very supportive and helpful with ensuring the best for my daughter.
The service
they provide has been second to none and I would highly recommend them to any parent I know.

My little boy started in September 2022, he had a bit of an unsure start as he had a bit of a bad experience elsewhere, but he absolutely loves it here he has formed a great bond with his key worker as well as all the staff in his room. All the staff from management down are absolutely brilliant can't
recommend this nursery enough my son's confidence has grown so much it's amazing to see.

My little boy started Cherry Trees Day Nursery in April 2022 at 13 months old. After a difficult start, due to illness, he settled in extremely well and created strong bonds with not just his key worker but all members of staff. Cherry Trees really do listen to the needs of your child and genuinely
show so much care, attention and empathy towards them. I cannot fault the staff and I have never felt unhappy to leave my little boy at nursery as I know he loves it and has a fantastic time every single day! I am so pleased that I chose this nursery, the communication from staff is fantastic and I would not hesitate in recommending to any parent.

From the very first visit to see what Cherry Trees Day Nursery was like we knew we had found the right nursery for our daughter. The staff were welcoming and the environment for the children was fantastic. Roll on almost four years and we are still very happy we made the right choice, our daughter has
thoroughly enjoyed her time here and is ready to begin new adventures at school. The staff are a real credit and have always looked after and developed our now not-so-little girl! She has learned so much and really come out of her shell doing all the fun activities the staff come up with. I feel she is fully prepared to take on school! Thank you Cherry Trees.

My daughter has been with this incredible nursery since she was 9 months old.
I am so sad to be leaving now she is almost 4 and starting school.
I cannot recommend all the staff enough, from office right through to key workers, on such a great and supportive network for my daughter.
My daughter
attended before and after the pandemic of Covid and lockdowns, I was a key worker.
The world struggled including myself with the whole situation, my daughter didn’t understand what was going on but the nursery continued and made it as normal an experience for the children as possible. I really couldn’t have managed without their support and just think they are incredible superhumans to risk their health and pushing their doubts to one side.
My daughter only ever came out of nursery with joy and the stories she would tell me about all her adventures with her friends, just so content and happy.
You always have Mum guilt but the regular updates of pictures of them thriving made it soon disperse.

My son has been attending the nursery for over a year now in both the Ladybird and most recently the Bumblebees room. The staff and his key worker in the Bumblebees room have been nothing but amazing with the level of care and attention provided to what is a very energetic child. We've seen him make

Our children have both thoroughly enjoyed and have made excellent progress at Cherry Trees Day Nursery in Cranfield. The range of activities they provide engages my son and has led him to be an extremely curious and perseverant learner. His interests are taken into account by the staff and he always

My child loves her time at nursery, she likes to play with the other children, experience different activities and lots of messy play. She always rushes into the room and is very happy when we collect her. The app is amazing and lets us review updates/milestones in our own time. The different variety
of foods for lunch and diner is very good; she loves mealtimes. The staff understand her and her needs fully - I love the parents evenings.

Overall a very pleasant experience. Both our sons have been very happy. I have always felt able to discuss any concerns with the managers and they have responded quickly and with understanding. I feel that our boys have been encouraged to do a range of fun, educational activities and have always felt
the facility was clean and well organised. The staff are friendly and approachable. Child care is more expensive than initially expected however other facilities seem similar prices so wouldn't change.

As our son’s time at Cherry Trees Day Nursery is coming to an end, thought it would only be right to leave a review. He has been there for four years starting when he was only 8 months old and we really cannot fault anything. Throughout his time there he has been so happy, the staff have given him such
great care and he leaves there a confident and bright little boy. Cherry Trees have provided him with fun and interesting activities that have helped him develop and given him a good grounding to starting school. His introduction to ICT along with the STEM activities has been fantastic. The last sixteen months have been a particular challenge but again managed so well by all the staff in their flexible and innovative approach to ensuring our children stay safe and well. We will all miss Cherry Trees dearly and very grateful for the time our son has spent there.

My son has attended for nearly a year and I’ve been so amazed by the compassion and professionalism of all the staff. The nursery is modern, well equipped, with a fabulous garden and the activities they put on for the children are varied and well thought through. The staff pay particular attention to
the individual needs and interests of the children and they have been amazing with my very high spirited son. My son took a few months to warm up to going to nursery, not helped by reduced socialisation through lockdown, but his key workers have been so caring and attentive. He shows such strong emotion towards his key worker and all the staff - it’s so lovely to see such a bond and know he’s going to be happy while I’m at work. There are a number of rooms, more than other nurseries around, which means the groups are really age-appropriate. The nursery has also been very flexible as I’ve required changes to my son's pattern and extra days here and there, they’ve always been able to accommodate.

Our sons time has come to an end at Cherry Trees and we could not thank the staff enough for the caring, fun environment that they have provided for him. Cherry Trees is friendly and clean and we have never doubted that our son would be taken care of. Throughout the pandemic their communication was

My son has had a wonderful three years at Cherry Trees. He was a bit apprehensive at first but the key persons in each room were so patient, caring and really looked after him. All the staff have brought the best out of him. He has grown in confidence and has made some firm friends. All the staff go
above and beyond and make sure that you as a parent feel that your child is in good hands. My son has now started school and is a confident, happy boy. He has gained all the skills he needs for happy school life. Thank you Cherry Trees.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2010

Amy is the Manager of Cherry Trees Day Nursery in Cranfield and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector since 1994. Amy has numerous qualifications such as BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies, BTEC and SEND training and has worked for Childbase since March 2010.


What is your favourite feature of Cherry Trees?
The open spacious rooms, as well as the atrium which is a communal space where all age groups can learn and explore together.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
From when we made the move from our smaller nursery building to our current purpose-built eco setting; the transition was flawless and was followed by a huge growth in occupancy. My team are just amazing; although we have grown over the years by double, we've never lost the 'family feel'. Everyone is so positive and caring towards each other, and recent events have shown just what a united team we are. Everyone is keen to play their part and contribute to our success in whatever form that might present itself. Most recently it has been about adapting to huge changes and they have done it so well, I'm very proud to be a part of their team.
