Cedars Day Nursery is situated in Leighton Buzzard, close to the train station, and offers parents a fully inclusive service all-year-round. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools award.

The nursery ensures that outdoor play is an important part of each child’s learning. Access to a large natural garden creates opportunities for all age groups of children to develop social, emotional and physical skills.

The children plant, harvest and taste a range of vegetables in their own vegetable plot.

The nursery focuses on parent partnership - once a month arrangements are made, such as stay and play or parent workshops.

Cedars also offer the extracurricular activity of Hart beeps every Monday morning from 9am across all rooms.

Long-standing, highly trained practitioners help support children's learning through a range of activities designed in line with EYFS principles.

Cedars Day Nursery is a great nursery with excellent staff who teach and help and care for the children.
The outside space is huge and they have lots of activities available for the children to play and learn!

Both of my girls went to Cedars Day Nursery and they both loved every minute of their time there.
The range of activities they do is fantastic and the pre-school is amazing at getting them ready for school.
Every member of staff is kind, helpful and so caring. I couldn’t have wished for better care
for my girls.

Cedars Day Nursery provided an excellent starting point for our daughter's education. She was valued, supported and well looked after. The nursery supported learning through well-planned activities and exciting extra-curricular style activities.

The staff at Cedars Day Nursery are compassionate and attentive to the needs of the children in their care. Management at Cedars always listened and acted on my concerns. My daughter just finished preschool and every week there were interesting activities and learning opportunities which the nursery
feedback to us via email each week in the newsletter. I can’t praise them enough, both my children have and continue to enjoy their time at Cedars.

Cedars Day Nursery is, without a doubt, a five-star nursery! Our daughter joined as a 14-month-old baby and left as a confident and caring pre-schooler. Cedars follows the early years' framework foundation. They provide children with educational, creative and fun activities from birth to 5 years. Parents
are continually updated on their children's progress both via staff feedback and the app. Cedars is highly professional in their communications with parents and they provide weekly newsletters and updates giving an overview of the week's happenings and events ahead. The nursery cooks fresh and nutritious meals on their premises and can cater for a wide range of diets. During her time at Cedars, our daughter made some fantastic friendships both with the children and the staff. We will always have good memories. If you are looking for a caring place that will nurture your child and prepare them for school then I cannot recommend Cedars enough.

Cedars Day Nursery has been fantastic for our little boy, he attended between 1 - 3.5 years old and developed so many friendships with the staff and children. We hope to be sending our second child next year. Highly recommend.

My son started at Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) just before his first birthday and it's fair to say that I was very nervous to hand him over for the first week or so! The staff have all been so friendly and caring, from his key worker to the reception staff, they couldn't have done anything
more to put me at ease and care for my son. I love receiving updates during the day and seeing what fun activities he has been up to. I especially love that he plays outside loads. He has been given so many new experiences at Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard), it's really helping his development. I couldn't recommend Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) highly enough, it's a fantastic nursery!

I can’t express how grateful we are to the team at Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) who have gone above and beyond over the past year. Keeping my son feeling safe, cared for and happy whilst the world’s been in turmoil. It has been priceless and we will always remember it. He loves to go to nursery,
he’s happy when we drop him off and full of smiles when we pick him up. The standard of learning is extremely high. We are often entertained by the new things he has learnt and relays back to us. He eats more vegetables there than he ever would at home! He loves playing with the facilities and joining in the games arranged by the team in his room.The communication with management is excellent and they have really gone above and beyond to help us through this difficult time.

My son has been going to Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) since he turned one, he is now three and he absolutely loves it. He has made some super friends there and is always full of stories of what they’ve been up to. I also get to see a bit of it myself through the app they use to keep parents
updated. He is learning a lot there, in particular he often sings songs to us that he’s learnt at nursery, which I love. They do lots of fun activities, playing in the garden, crafts, reading, messy play and lots more, certainly much more than I could do with him at home. Their help has really brought him along with potty training as well. All in all, I couldn’t be happier and I am so pleased knowing he is in such good hands. Excellent Covid-19 procedures too and good materials that helped children prepare for the return to nursery after lockdown last summer.

Superb experience with Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) and I am especially impressed with their professionalism during Covid-19. Our eldest 'graduated' last year and our youngest is really enjoying himself. He always comes home with a smile on his face.
The well developed processes and procedures
of Childbase, coupled with the fantastic staff at Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) makes it worth every penny. The nursery is not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. I can't recommend highly enough.

My son has been attending Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) for eighteen months now and it has been a lovely experience for us. Everyone there is so friendly, professional and lovely - always trying to help no matter what. The manager, receptionists and all rooms staff treat my son so well, they
are always so caring and with a smile on their faces, which is so appreciated. They always remember our names like we are part of the same family. The food is homemade and nutritious, the menus always look amazing. Love the rooms, garden and all the toys/activities that staff comes up with. They really care about my boy which makes us so happy and confident that we found the best place for him to go until he starts school. Best wishes to you all.

Our child is happy and content, always wanting to go back to nursery to play with friends and carers.
The nursery also provides a lot of out of nursery activities that we can do at home which is brilliant.

Both my boys have attended Cedars Day Nursery from the age of 12 months through to starting school and we have been so very happy with the care they received. Cedars is a very nurturing environment, where both my boys were very happy, had lots of fun, and felt safe. My views and concerns were always
listened to and the staff are absolutely wonderful - they work very hard so that every day the children have lots of fun. It's a great environment, with wonderful garden space for each age group. My boys both left Cedars ready for their next big adventure at big school.

Our little one has been attending Cedars since last November, and from the moment we met the team till now, they have consistently exceeded our expectations. As a looked after child, we were concerned when he started, that having moved house just prior, that he would find the transition difficult. The
team were keen to chat to us to understand our little's needs and to find ways to ensure he felt secure and happy in his new environment. They have been attentive to our needs, and particularly of our little one's, however, this is not unique to us. All the children are cared for, and the staff ensure each child's needs and development opportunities are consistently met to the highest professional quality. The two girls run an excellent team/nursery, and particularly in light of Covid have put in place robust measures to ensure the children and staff remain safe and secure. This is an outstanding nursey, and the children are flourishing in their care and development, we couldn't be happier!

Our daughter has been attending Cedars Day Nursery since February 2020 and I cannot recommend it highly enough. As our first child, picking a nursery seemed quite daunting, with different recommendations from different groups. We are delighted with our choice and she enjoys nursery so much she often
doesn't want to leave. There is a long lead time to get a place (we registered 18 months ahead of needing a place), however, we were kept informed whilst on the waiting list and the process was fairly painless. The staff are very attentive, the variety of food is great and gives the children a chance to try new things. Her visits are supported with an app which tracks what she has been up to each day and provides peace of mind during the first few days.

Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) has a great feel to it as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are fantastic and the kids seem to have a great time. They are really helpful at attending to any of your child's' needs. Of all the nurseries we visited in the area, Cedars was the most professional

I appreciate the frequent updates on parent zone as it's often my husband that drops my daughter off and picks her up. The staff are always enthusiastic and engaged and clearly have a good relationship with my daughter. I am a big fan of the garden area and how much time the class spend outside.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2024

Lauren is the Manager of Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard and has worked in the Early Years sector for 8 years. Lauren holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.


Lauren is also Mental Health First Aid at work and First Aid trained.  Lauren is very passionate about ensuring that Cedars Day Nursery meet the needs of the children and their families.


What is your favourite feature of Cedars?
The wonderful team, the large outdoor space, and the surrounding community.

What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
My colleagues have the flexibility to adapt and are very friendly.
