Cedars Day Nursery is situated in Leighton Buzzard, close to the train station, and offers parents a fully inclusive service all-year-round. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools award.

The nursery ensures that outdoor play is an important part of each child’s learning. Access to a large natural garden creates opportunities for all age groups of children to develop social, emotional and physical skills.

The children plant, harvest and taste a range of vegetables in their own vegetable plot.

The nursery focuses on parent partnership - once a month arrangements are made, such as stay and play or parent workshops.

Cedars also offer the extracurricular activity of Hart beeps every Monday morning from 9am across all rooms.

Long-standing, highly trained practitioners help support children's learning through a range of activities designed in line with EYFS principles.

Best nursery in Leighton Buzzard. The staff are lovely and really care for the children. I feel that my child is safe and properly cared for and I like the updates through the app that let me see how he's getting on in the day.

We love Cedars! The staff are attentive, kind and can't do enough to help you. My son started in September and since then, they have helped us to support him through welcoming a new sibling, and they're now helping us with potty training too! The food is nutritious, and the nursery celebrate a multitude
of cultural holidays and festivals throughout the year. They have a huge outdoor space which we love, as well as planned themed activities for indoors. We'd recommend cedars to anyone!

Our daughter started here in August 2024 aged two, after we moved to the area. From the start she has thrived, growing in confidence and learning new skills. The care is excellent and we are always kept informed. Any issues are quickly dealt with. This is a place that she loves coming to and leaves
each day with stories to tell. We have experienced two prior nurseries and Cedars definitely sets the bar; we highly recommend it. Both keyworkers (Aurora, Mollie) my daughter has had have been excellent too: they really got to know her little personality and bring her out of her shell. She will miss Cedars when she leaves for big school this September, but we are all happy that her little brother will be joining shortly after.

We had a very good experience keeping both of our children at Cedars Nursery, our oldest son was there for 3 years and the youngest were there for 6 months. There was a good personal care for both children and they developed well while they were there.

My little girl started in September 2025 at Cedars and we could not be happier with the care that's provided for her. The staff are so friendly and efficient at their jobs, and so much effort went into my little girl settling in and now she absolutely loves it! Cedars is an incredible nursery and I
don't think we could find anywhere better.

We honestly couldn't be happier with our experience at Cedars Nursery. From the very beginning, it's been such a positive place for our daughter. She absolutely loves coming in every day, and the difference in her confidence since she started has been amazing to see.

Every room she's been in has been

fantastic, and each stage has felt just right for her development. The staff truly make this place special - they are all so kind, caring and genuinely invested in the children. You can really feel how much they love what they do, and that means everything as a parent.

She has made some lovely friends here and talks about them all the time. It's so reassuring to know she feels happy, safe and supported. We've watched her grow not just in confidence, but in independence, communication and curiosity too, and we honestly believe the nursery has played a huge part in that.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff for everything you do - we're so grateful!

Cedars in Leighton Buzzard are absolutely brilliant. My daughter graduated in the summer and my youngest is currently in Ladybirds, and our experience across both has been consistently wonderful. Every member of the team is warm, kind and genuinely caring, and both of my children have built such strong,
trusting bonds with their key workers - which says everything.

The thought and effort that goes into the activities is fantastic. There's such a lovely balance of learning, creativity and play, and I'm so grateful for the experiences they provide that I simply wouldn't manage to recreate at home. It's clear how much care goes into supporting each child's development as an individual.

Most importantly, I have complete peace of mind every single day. From drop-off to pick-up, I know my children are safe, happy and very well looked after. Thank you to the whole Cedars team for creating such a nurturing environment and for giving my children the very best start to their learning and play.

Our son (15 months) started Cedars in October and the experience has been so brilliant for us all already. As soon as we had a tour we knew we wanted him to go here so we were so pleased to have a place offered. There is a warmth and friendliness from every staff member you meet which is unmatched by
other settings. Staff have really taken the time to get to know our son and he has really warmed to them, particularly his key worker. He is clearly thriving there and is very happy to be there. We don't get tears at drop off and he has sometimes been reluctant to leave his key worker's knee at pick up! Some parents might find this heartbreaking but this tells me everything I need to know about the care and attention he's receiving. We get a lot of photo updates through the day which is brilliant, and the thought and creativity that goes into the daily activities is really inspiring. I love that he has something new to interact with every day. Thank you so much.

We are so grateful to Cedars for giving our child the very best start in life. Our child attended from 9months old to 4 years old.
Every stage of our child's journey was handled with so much thought and kindness, helping them grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity. The activities have been
creative, engaging, and perfectly balanced between fun and learning, and we have loved seeing our child thrive both socially and academically.
What has stood out most is the genuine love and commitment of the whole team. The staff don't just care for the children-they nurture them, celebrate them, and encourage them to be the best version of themselves. The inclusive and welcoming environment has given our child such a rich foundation of respect and understanding for others, which we truly value.
Leaving feels like the end of a very special chapter, and we know our child will carry the happiest memories from their time here.

My boys have only just started at Cedars Day Nursery Leighton Buzzard this week and I'm touched by the positive, nurturing and welcoming week they've had. The staff are incredibly friendly, warm and helpful, and the updates/daily pictures are so heartwarming as I know my boys are receiving well-rounded
exposure to so many enriching activities to support their development. My boys have settled in so well and I trust they will continue to excel and enjoy their time here. Im super happy we finally got a space here and look forward to seeing what the future holds. Anything rated good at this stage is only because it's our first week but Im confident we'll continue to have an excellent experience throughout

As soon as we stepped into Cedars on our first visit, we knew we would love it and that our daughter would thrive! The staff are absolutely amazing: they do their job with such love and dedication every single day and the environment is so nurturing and welcoming, whether it is the ladies at reception,
in management, or the carers, they are absolutely fantastic. From day one the whole of Cedars knew our daughter's name and made her feel so safe and welcomed! Every day they take the time to give you a full debrief on how the day went, they make things so easy and they really adapt to your child's needs. We know for sure our daughter is in good hands when we leave her in the morning. The way they engage children in all the various and creative activities is amazing, they also closely follow how your child develops and always have suggestions of what to do to make things better. Communication is always clear and easy. There are no other nurseries we would want her to attend!

We are so over the moon happy with Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) for our daughter (2.5 yrs). Every single member of staff is fantastic and you can tell daily how much they care for the children and make every day the best it can be. Specifically, I'd like to mention one member of staff in particular
in the Bumblebees room. She's faultless and loves and cares for our daughter like her own. We couldn't be happier with her.

We love Cedars Day Nursery, this year has felt like a whirlwind of staff changes and while it has taken some time to adapt as parents, our kids never knew or expressed any worries. Their respective key workers were new this year too but they love them and both of them are so attentive. And the same
goes for all staff members in both rooms too.

We couldn't have asked for a better start for our son. He started at Cedars in September -24, and I just like to give our gratitude to the staff for how well they have taken him and us on board. It can be scary handing your child over to strangers, but they very quickly made us and him feel safe and
no longer being strangers. Having his keyworker and the other familiar faces meeting him every day has given all of us the reassurance we need to keep him there. We know he is well looked after all day and the staff respects our wishes when it comes to naps and other routines. So far we have not had any issues with anything and are always met with positivity and good explanations when asking questions or inquiring about something. Highly recommend them!

Cedars Day Nursery has been in our lives for 7 years, as both of our children have gone through the nursery, so it was a sad day when we had to move on. Thankfully, the love, care, and teaching the staff have given our girls has equipped them with all the social skills and resilience to take on school
life. We will miss you all and thank you for being awesome at your jobs - I definitely couldn't do it!

We have had both our children at Cedars since they were babies through to preschool and they have both thrived here. All of the staff have been wonderful, kind, and caring. They have always been generous with their time and put in lots of effort to get to know each child individually. They have offered
a great mix of fun, learning, and being creative.
As parents, we have felt comfortable leaving our children with all of the staff and feel that are in capable and nurturing hands.
We can't rate cedars highly enough.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.924 for Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) is calculated as follows: ( (269 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 288 Ratings = 4.924
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard) is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 99 number of registered child places is 19.8, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
