Cedars Day Nursery is situated in Leighton Buzzard, close to the train station, and offers parents a fully inclusive service all-year-round. They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools award.

The nursery ensures that outdoor play is an important part of each child’s learning. Access to a large natural garden creates opportunities for all age groups of children to develop social, emotional and physical skills.

The children plant, harvest and taste a range of vegetables in their own vegetable plot.

The nursery focuses on parent partnership - once a month arrangements are made, such as stay and play or parent workshops.

Cedars also offer the extracurricular activity of Hart beeps every Monday morning from 9am across all rooms.

Long-standing, highly trained practitioners help support children's learning through a range of activities designed in line with EYFS principles.

My daughter attended Cedars Day Nursery from the age of 1 to 3 and has absolutely loved it. The staff are wonderful and really care for and bond with the children. My daughter is lactose intolerant and upon finding out her diet was easily changed and has never been an issue.
As a parent, I will miss
the safety and security that Cedars Day Nursery has offered and my daughter will miss the many friends she has made there, as well as her key workers. She has hugely grown in confidence during her time there and often mentions staff and things she has learnt whilst at nursery.

My daughter has enjoyed being at Cedars for over 3 years. The staff are wonderful, very impressive food, lovely environment and wonderful outdoor space. She has grown enormously in confidence through going to Cedars and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Great facilities, lovely location and dedicated staff. My son had a wonderful time, learning and having fun. Having meals provided was also a huge advantage. We were particularly pleased with how the team looked after our son - as he developed a lot through play and activities at nursery.

The nursery provides everything we could ask for, for our daughter. The staff are brilliant with the children - very helpful and friendly. They know how to engage children in each room. The food is outstanding and our daughter eats very well at nursery. The opening hours are great for commuting parents,
not to mention that everything is provided for the children.

Absolutely brilliant! All the staff have been nothing but amazing this year and the past 2.5 years my twins have attended Cedars. They leave to start 'big school' in September and we will be most sad to leave. We have gained many friends and take away many happy memories. Thank you.

It's the most organised, focused on the children nursery. I was lucky to find a placement for my daughter. The staff are brilliant and all the activities targeting learning. They also are very kind in helping with any issues comes up with the children. Very person-centred approach. I have no words really.

This nursery is absolutely outstanding and I am so glad that I chose it the first time round for my daughter. She started when she was a year old and she is now 4 and starting school in September. I couldn't have asked for her to have been better looked after. The staff there are all absolutely amazing
and are all so friendly and caring and generally remarkably good at their job. I would never consider sending my children to any other nursery, in fact, my little boy started there in January and he's one and he has already come along leaps and bounds throughout the four months he has been there which is incredible. In my opinion most definitely the best nursery around. I feel at complete ease knowing that my children and being well looked after and cared for whilst I am working. Thank you team Cedars for everything you have done and continue to do for my little girl and everything you are currently doing for my little man, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Cedars has been nothing but excellent in all respects. In my professional capacity, I am the CEO of a children's charity. So I have a professional interest in the standards of childcare organisations. The location people and facilities are brilliant, I could not be happier with the team responsible
for the care of my child. Truly a childcare professional establishment. From the front door to the individual rooms and catering team, all are what I expect from a childcare business. I would recommend (and have done to friends and family) the standard delivered at Cedars L/ Buzzard.

Cedars have been excellent in all aspects of care for my daughter. All the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional and have made leaving my daughter to go back to work as easy as it could be.


My only criticism would be the speed at which updates are added to Parentzone as I love receiving

them but I appreciate this must be difficult with the number of children that are cared for.

I feel so happy that I can drop my most precious off in the morning and feel completely confident that he is safe, happy and well looked after all day. I used to feel guilty if I finished work early and didn't immediately pick him up but soon realised that in fact he loves being there so much he sometimes
wanted to stay longer. Everyone is so friendly and helpful that it makes an easy and nice experience of an important part of our lives.

Both my son and daughter have attended this nursery and have loved being there. The staff are lovely, caring and understanding. I especially liked the outside space and the varied activities. I feel that the nursery has helped grow their confidence and they have also built some lovely friendships there.

I cannot praise the staff enough at Cedars Day Nursery for how well they have taken care of and supported my daughter. The whole environment that has been created for the children is nurturing, vibrant, safe and welcoming. Every member of staff would greet my daughter by her name, even those who weren't
directly involved in her class. I think that makes her feel a sense of belonging and makes the nursery feel more personal, with a community feel. She has come such a long way since she started and the nursery has helped give her a confidence and self-assurance for the future.

My daughter has attended Cedars since just before she was 1 and has become a sociable, intelligent and loving young lady thanks to the help and guidance of the staff. She loves coming to nursery and has built an amazing bond with every key worker she has had in each room. She is now in the Preschool
room and is thriving and coming along leaps and bounds in her development. I will be very sad when she leaves nursery to start school next year as the care we receive is second to none!!! They most definitely deserve their Outstanding rating.

My baby and all of the family think Cedars Nursery is one of the best nurseries in the area. All of the employees are very helpful, loving the baby and knowing their needs. Also, the baby can get access to all round and personalised daycare.
Activities provided by Cedars Nursery are very good, they
enable the baby to learn, to play and to cooperate at the same time.
Last but not least, the management policy in Cedars is professional, it covers almost all situations for most babies. To summarise, we would very much like to recommend Cedars Nursery to all the other parents.

We are absolutely delighted with Cedars and the care they give our daughter.
Our daughter's key worker is amazing and has spent the time to really get to know her personality and interests and tailors her activities accordingly.
Our daughter is so happy to come here on her nursery days and thrives
on the routine that is provided.

I just wanted to say what an amazing team you have at Cedars Day Nursery (Leighton Buzzard). The manager is fantastic and has ensured that my two girls, who have both left now (my youngest last week) were cared for and educated to a very high standard.
Cedars Day Nursery has been a very happy place
for both of our children, but they leave being more confident and prepared ready for school.

I was confident that my son was safe, which was my number one priority. Most room staff were very friendly and caring.


I did not consider that the menu any more than paying 'lip service' to the idea of healthy eating - cakes, pies, crumbles and various puddings seemed to be served on a very routine

basis. I opted out of these things for my son and he was provided with either yoghurt or fruit - but surely this would be more appropriate for all the other children too.


Cleanliness of the toilets used by the children was often poor. Elsewhere cleanliness seemed fine.

Lauren Trotter

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2024

Lauren is the Manager of Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard and has worked in the Early Years sector for 8 years. Lauren holds a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.


Lauren is also Mental Health First Aid at work and First Aid trained.  Lauren is very passionate about ensuring that Cedars Day Nursery meet the needs of the children and their families.


What is your favourite feature of Cedars?
The wonderful team, the large outdoor space, and the surrounding community.

What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
My colleagues have the flexibility to adapt and are very friendly.
