My daughter has attended Dicky Birds No. 62 since the age of 8 months. The settling-in sessions were lovely and since the day she started, we've never had any issues. She's transitioned through the rooms, is 'best friends' with the staff and literally runs in every morning very excited to get there.
I feel lucky to have found No. 62. The staff are all so friendly, fun and caring. The food menus are great - good hearty varied meals. They go out for walks, outings, do sports and have a forest school for preschoolers. The staff have also worked through the pandemic making it safe and educating the children about the virus in a 'light' way so the new processes of safety are understood. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a trusted small family-like nursery.

No. 62 is a really special nursery in the Dicky Birds portfolio. Both my children attend and love everyone that takes care of them so much. They are upset on the day they can’t go to nursery and truly enjoy their 10 hours a day there. Both have different personalities and have flourished at No. 62 with
sports and forest school being my eldest’s favorite. The staff really care for the kids and it’s apparent in their happy faces at drop-off and collection.

For me, this nursery is 5 stars. The staff took the time out to learn about my daughter and respond to her individual needs. They deliver interactive, engaging and skill-developing activities which are fun and I really like how they support children to be confident about themselves. I feel very assured
my daughter is in capable and safe hands which was one of my biggest things on a nursery wish list. The communication is impressive whether this is individual or collectively such as the regular newsletter. I could go on but most of all I love seeing my little one walk out with a smile on her face and evidence of a good day whether that’s grubby knees from rolling around or a bit of paint in her hair! She is very content and has built some great attachments there.

Both of my daughters have attended Dicky Birds No. 62 Claremont Road and we’ve been really happy with the care provided to them both. The girls have also been super happy at nursery. The setting is clean and inviting, with loads of well organised toys and activities for the children. Particularly during
the pandemic, the email communication from Dicky Birds No. 62 Claremont Road has been great. During lockdown the nursery suggested loads of activities for the children which was very helpful. The nursery is in a convenient location for Surbiton station and we like the fact that it’s set back from the road. The only downside for those with really active children is that the garden is pretty small. We’d definitely recommend the nursery to our friends and have done so already!

Our daughter has attended Dicky Birds No. 62 Claremont Road for almost three years. The best review I can give is to say that she can't wait to get there in the mornings and I can't recall her ever saying she wasn't looking forward to going. She is very fond of all the staff and never has a bad word
to say about any of them. She recently got upset when it dawned on her that progressing to school in September meant having to leave all the staff at Dicky Birds No. 62 Claremont Road behind. Staff have always been very professional in their dealings with us and are always happy to accommodate any extra instructions where practical. Only negative I can think of is that parking and drop off by car can be a bit of a pain, but its usually okay.

My children have been attending Dicky Birds nurseries for the past five years and have both thoroughly enjoyed their time there. The staff are friendly, fun and caring, they encourage the children to explore their interests while also involving them in a wide range of activities including PE, Forest
School, arts and crafts and phonics. My children have always been made to feel like individuals, with staff welcoming them by name, and the managers knowing who they are also, which makes them feel special when they arrive! Both have really thrived in the environment, despite being very different individuals (one quite quiet and sensitive, who enjoyed lots of books and cuddle time, the other more energetic and social). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dicky Birds and am sorry that it will soon be time for us to say goodbye when our youngest starts school.
In terms of safety, the team were excellent with my son's medical/dietary needs and have been amazing throughout the pandemic.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.711 for Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Surbiton, Claremont Road is calculated as follows: ( (156 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 204 Ratings = 4.711
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Surbiton, Claremont Road is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 number of registered child places is 14, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
