Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Surbiton, Claremont Road

Just felt compelled to write another review about my daughter’s nursery as she transitions into Emus, the oldest of the three rooms. Once again, the care provided is second to none. The staff in Swans and now in Emus are excellent, and my daughter couldn’t enjoy going in more! I’d absolutely recommend Dicky Birds as a place to send your child.

I’m so thrilled to have come across Dicky Birds Nursery after relocating from Australia. I was desperate to find the perfect family feel environment for my daughter who was missing her friends and family back home. As soon as I set foot in this gorgeous nursery I knew this was the place. The staff are all amazing and my otherwise shy little girl settled quickly with the kind carers. On top of that, the group of children and their parents are also truly lovely. Everyone makes time to catch up outside of the nursery and the staff at Dicky Birds also make an effort to have multiple social events throughout the year to bring everyone together. On top of all this the staff has also offered invaluable support and resources to ourselves as parents when we’ve needed them. They have really gone above and beyond. It’s quite a remarkable little community to be a part of.

Our daughter has been at the nursery since she turned one and we are very pleased with the care she has received both as a Duckling and now as a Swan. The staff work so hard to look after the children and cater to their individual needs when needed. The staff and management team have always been accommodating and approachable. There are also plenty of regular fun and stimulating activities for the children. We are so happy that we chose Dicky Birds and this particular nursery.

Good facilities and learning opportunities and a higher-than-average food menu on offer!

Kind, professional, intelligent staff. You get a sense immediately you’re in a friendly and welcoming space. The manager is passionate and enthusiastic and very easy to talk to. The staff are so caring and hard working. Lots to keep little ones busy with and varied activities, keeping the children active, reading, art, and closely supporting development are high priority!

We are pleased with the level of care our children are experiencing at Dicky Bird Nursery. She is happy and enjoying her time at the nursery. She has plenty of learning opportunities. The environment is safe and all staff are friendly and caring. Big thank you to all of them.

Our son has been with the A-Team at Dicky Birds for over two years now, and we couldn't be happier with his entire experience. His journey began in the Ducklings Room and the ducklings team, from minute one we felt he was cared for and nurtured and ultimately loved by his key worker and support network which gave us great comfort being new parents. He then entered into the Swans with all of the brilliant team. He was equally cared for and developed carefully and with love and patience. He loves Dicky Birds. He talks about his support by name and with affection, and that, more than anything is validation for us that we made the right decision in choosing Dicky Birds Claremont Road. Our son has just moved up to Emu`s and is enthusiastically attending his days there with lots of stories about his experiences already. A huge thank you to each and every one, you deserve all the plaudits.

Our son has been at Dicky Birds for over a year, first in the Ducklings and now in the Swans room. We have been really impressed by the management who have been so responsive and supportive in every communication and went above and beyond to help him settle in. The staff in the Swans room in particular have been so brilliant - warm, kind, caring - everything you could wish for in a nursery. Our son clearly enjoys his nursery days, we love the fact there is plenty of time outside in the garden and on outings, and he is learning so much and gaining so many new skills.

Dicky Birds is the most wonderful nursery. Both my son and daughter have attended from 9 months old. The care and attention the entire team provides are excellent. The nursery has a really lovely atmosphere. My daughter loves the forest school trips too.

Caring staff who really take the time to give children what they need. Excellent service, really could not be happier. When I pick my child up she always looks happy and is engaged with whatever activities the nursery has provided.

They provide a good standard of care and friendly staff. There is also a nice variety of activities for the children, including regular outings and take-home crafts like baking and artwork. I was impressed that they include farm visits and occasional educational show-and-tell presenters.

My son attends the Dicky Birds Nursery and we couldn't be happier with the environment and services provided. Our boy runs every day to go to the nursery and can't wait to see his teachers and friends. The curriculum is very diverse, the facilities are super clean and tidy and also the food is really balanced and tasty. All the staff are really knowledgeable and friendly and truly care for the children.

And the daycare app for releasing and trading days of absence just doesn’t work, hope the new system is better.

Our daughter has settled in very well at Dicky Birds in Claremont Road - we are extremely happy with all the staff and the feedback we are given. Our daughter loves all the activities, and we are enjoying watching her develop!

Before starting the nursery, my son wasn’t speaking English as he is Bilingual. In 2-3 months' time, he improved his English skills thanks to story-reading sessions and the activities that teach kids new things while they are having fun.

We couldn't be happier with the Dicky Birds team. From day one, they have embraced our daughter and have made sure that she is always safe, well looked after and learns a lot through outdoor playing, songs, crafts and story-reading. We are very satisfied with the quality of service and have peace of mind that our daughter is in good hands during the day. The team is very caring and responsive.

My son has been at Dicky Birds since October 2022, and the whole Dicky Birds team have been so welcoming and supportive to us starting our nursery journey. They always keep me well informed of how my son is doing, how he is eating, sleeping and playing throughout the day. I feel that I can approach not only his key worker but any of the nursery team about my son, and they are always so happy to talk to me about him. If ever my son is upset, they always give him a cuddle and reassurance, giving me reassurance as well. I love getting the photo updates of him, as well as seeing the special events that have been laid on in recent months, such as the visit from Santa and the exciting farm visit! I have complete trust in the Claremont Road Dicky Birds team and would highly recommend!

Our daughter has really enjoyed going to Dicky Birds on Claremont road. The managers have been brilliant, as have the nursery staff. Although our daughter has only been there for a few months and part-time, I feel the staff know her well and really cares. There's been good communication, and we got lots of updates on how things are going. The nursery itself is small and cosy. Would recommend!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or send another child in the future.
