Mediocre. Our son has been at this nursery since Jan 2018. Since then it changed hands from Asquith's to Bright Horizons and the quality has sadly declined. Whilst they had to deal with the chaos of Covid, they dealt with it badly. For 6 months the nursery had a reduced "covid" menu which they claimed was due to food supply problems. I had to get in touch with the Bright Horizons UK MD to get this sorted. Utterly ridiculous. The nursery has lost a lot of great staff, including an absolute stellar pre-school teacher and has gone through several managers. Some of the staff that remain, hold the place together. We would have removed our son if he wasn't off to school in the next few months. Although pre-school leadership is severely lacking, so we aren't sure this was the best decision. Overall, a sad decline of what was a great nursery.
The feedback has been sent to the Nursery Manager who will contact you and invite you in to discuss. Kind Regards
The team at Bright Horizons Teddington Cedar Road Day Nursery and Preschool is always very supportive towards my son's development. The quality of the food is amazing and I can see that my son is enjoying going to the nursery every day. I can see the nursery puts a lot of effort to provide learning for the children in creative ways. Well done!
My baby settled really quickly due to the great team and consistency of his key person. He loves painting, the garden and seeing other babies - a rarity in the current climate!
My older child is in the nursery room and always looks forward to going to nursery to play with his friends. He enjoys being active in the garden, counting and learning his letters.
For us the social aspects of nursery have been so critical to maintaining normality for our children during Covid.
My little boy attended pre-school at Cedar Road, until starting school last year. At our first parents night, the teacher told us that he could already write his name, count to 20 and other key milestones, they look to achieve by the end of reception year. I'm sure this was due to the excellent foundation he received at pre-school at Cedar Road. Thank you to all of the team.
This is a lovely, friendly and supportive nursery. The staff take a lot of time to get to know the children and tailor their support to them. Two of my children have attended the nursery, my oldest took an early interest in reading and was actively challenged each week through fun letter games and one to one reading sessions. My youngest is very independent and wanted to move up rooms earlier than scheduled. The staff listened to my daughter (only 18 months!) and they were flexible in their timetable allowing her to move rooms early. She now loves walking into the toddler room - and she has only been there a week. I would definitely recommend this nursery. I am grateful for the fantastic start they have given both my children.
Both my daughters are fortunate enough to attend this wonderful nursery. My eldest is now in pre-school, having moved through all rooms since she was 12 months. I have continuously been impressed with all the teams’ compassion and dedication to enable her development and ensure she has fun. They supported us to understand what key milestones she should be hitting and encourage a shared focus on her development at nursery and at home, ensuring we work in partnership. The facilities are wonderful and they encourage lots of outdoor play in their lovely garden, which the girls love and bring in experts to run sessions such as stretch and grow. They also encourage independence and I can already see that my eldest is going to be well prepared for starting school next year. Thank you to all the team - keep up the good work.
My little girl is in the baby room. She has recently started walking. I am very pleased by the way the baby room leader supported her in achieving this milestone. I also appreciate all the efforts put in by two other members of staff to support her in feeding herself independently. The whole team at Teddington work really hard to make sure that my child is happy in their care. Thanks to the whole team and keep up the good work.
We are very happy with the nursery. There had been a lot of changes and transition with staff leaving. Asquith overtaken by Bright Horizons etc, we appreciate that we had apprehension at first but all is good now, foremost the children are happy and making friends. The staff put the childrens needs first.
Utterly fantastic from the moment our kids started here. Our elder child has cerebral palsy and the staff could not have been more supportive. It means the world to know your children are in such a safe, kind, loving and fun place every day. Thank you.
We have been really happy with the nursery. The new manager has kept up the great atmosphere in a seamless way. She has introduced some lovely new touches like Hop the Bunny, who the children love! All the baby room staff are great and our baby's carer has a wonderful, sensitive manner and is very engaged. The pre-school staff have also been excellent and have taught our older daughter so much. They have done a great job at supporting her with her social and emotional development and getting her ready for school.
Overall the staff seem committed and dedicated to the children and are always friendly and welcoming. Any feedback about things that would be helpful is immediately put into place by the management team. The outside space is wonderful and they do some lovely activities like Stretch and Grow and Active Athletes. Whilst the fees are a bit higher in comparison to other local nurseries, you really do get what you pay for.
They are very patient with him and are always encouraging him and praising him. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the conduct of the room leaders and the managers with regards to the development and care of our son and the biggest indication of how well the nursery is doing is the big smile our son has on his face as we drop him off in the morning.
My little girl is always happy in going to nursery and, in general, happy staying n the room after I leave, which is reassuring. The staff are very caring, however, at times they seem to be tired and overworked. The progress diary/development is kept up to date and in general, all activities performed throughout the week are diverse and educative. Meal times can be challenging. Would be ideal to have online access to menus. The idea of the menu display by the entrance was quite good. Would like to know that at least a soup could be offered as an alternative if my little girl does not eat the curry or the jacket potato with beans. (£1900 per month seems quite pricy when she does not eat.)
They have been very accommodating of special care and diet needs due to chronic illness of one of my boys. The team have also been fantastic at helping to make the logistics of dropping off and picking up 2 babies as easy as possible. The boys really enjoy their mornings at nursery and are always very happy when I pick them up. Overall, the set up at the nursery and the team are excellent.
My two children currently attend Asquith Preschool and Day Nursery, The attractive building and gardens were what initially caught my attention to this setting. I love the fact the toddler's room has free play to the garden. The staff here are attentive and genuinely seem to care about each individuals well being and learning. Having just attended a preschool talk for my eldest with the nursery I was extremely impressed with the level of learning opportunities available and feel excited about the year ahead. Working closely with the nursery to prepare my daughter for school next year is important to me, having the opportunity to work with the preschool with such things as the growing reader's campaign is a great example of combined preschool and home learning. Thank you to the team for giving my children a great start and I look forward to continuing to see them grow with your support and guidance.
My daughter has been in Pre-school for 6 months and I've been blown away by her development. The feedback we've had has been well communicated and is extremely useful. I feel that the pre-school team is working in partnership with us as parents. As a mother, I feel supported and know that my child is being well prepared for school in a very caring environment.
The management of the nursery is supportive, efficient and very accessible. Standards are high and are maintained consistently.
Something that makes this nursery stand out is that every member of staff knows my kid's names even if they don't work with them. They make the effort to make us feel welcome as a family.
We have been supported with our child's care at Teddington Day Nursery from day one. From extra help offered to assist with settling both us and our child into the first few days and weeks at nursery, to helping develop communication and social skills in the toddler room. I feel completely confident in the care that my child is receiving and really enjoy the interaction we have with the staff.
The upstairs rooms are laid out nicely and the staff are kind. My child is happy here which is the most important thing and I feel that the staff are well trained and generally happy themselves which makes all the difference!
Wish there was more flexibility in the booking pattern, which is very restrictive & does not allow for ad hoc adjustments. Owing to the location, hours are set to meet parents that commute starting very early & ending late, which isn't always necessary. This often feels like you're wasting money, which I grant you is our choice not to use all the time booked but there's no alternative booking pattern for full-time hours. The four weekly rotational menu sounds fantastic but at the end of the day what are we really paying for, if it ends up on the floor. Sometimes it doesn't need to be that complicated to work well, simple good food.
Both my daughters have enjoyed attending since their first birthdays - and they continue to do so. All the staff have treated them both exceptionally well and have made valuable suggestions when we've faced behavioural challenges with either daughter at home. The key workers have all reinforced these messages during the day after we've dropped them off which has helped their development enormously.
Ultimately seeing my baby happy makes me happy.
