Welcome to Bright Horizons Kingston Victoria Road Day Nursery and Preschool. They provide high-quality care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The nursery is ideally located between Kingston and Norbiton stations and within walking distance of Kingston town centre and local bus routes. There is on-site parking available too.

The nursery is set in a purpose-designed beautifully spacious building and has a large, recently refurbished garden that can be accessed throughout the year. There is a sensory room for under two’s, and a fully equipped art studio where children are able to explore different mediums in process and skills-based art, sometimes studying well-known artists and their techniques.

The preschool science lab and IT studio with interactive whiteboard helps children to prepare for school using their chosen literacy and numeracy programs. Bright Horizons runs growing enhancement programs as part of their nursery day which includes Growing Readers, Growing Writers and Growing Mathematicians. An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The friendly, experienced and highly qualified staff, including a Nursery Teacher, plan exciting and engaging activities to stretch the children’s learning and development, always following their interests.

The delicious healthy and nutritious food, sourced from trusted suppliers, is prepared and cooked on-site by their chef who has a 5* EHO rating for food safety and hygiene. Their menus change seasonally and cater for all dietary requirements.

This is a great nursery. My son has been going since he was 10 months old and at every stage, I have felt he was safe, secure and well looked after. In particular, I've been impressed with how sensitively staff have supported my son and me as a parent in his transition into a new room, taking it slowly
to get him used to the move. My son has had a great connection with all of his key workers who really care about doing their job well and about the children in their charge. He does arts, crafts, French, ballet... All amazing things that help him grow and develop and help me feel that but less guilty about going to work.


The nursery itself is spacious with a big, safe garden for kids to run around in.

Our daughter is incredibly happy at nursery and this is more important than anything else. She loves all the staff and they clearly love and care for her. She enjoys a range of activities and is thriving in the environment.

I have my two children going to this nursery and Active Learning has provided wonderful care for them. The staff are very attentive and make the children feel very loved and cared for. My children were in nappies when they first started but now they've almost finished potty training. During that whole
time, I felt that the nursery was very meticulous about hygiene issues during nappy changing and then provided great support while they were trying to learn to use the toilet.
The various extra classes such as sports, ballet, French are taught by professional teachers so I feel my children are able to receive better education for each subject.
I've already recommended the nursery to two parents and they are quite satisfied too so I've no problem in recommending Active Learning Kingston here as well!

I've chosen this nursery out of many others!
My daughter started without knowing any words in English. Within the first 6 months she was able to communicate very well and every day she comes home knowing more and more.
The reason I decided to bring her to this nursery, is because they have a different
approach in learning.
I love the fact that they are having art classes where they focus on actual artists and their work. So drawing isn't just making a smudge on a paper.
They learn how to play different sports games where someone explains the rules and instructions. Not just kicking a ball.
They learn about different music instruments, apart from just 'making noise' with them.
It feels that with the specific programme, the point isn't to just 'keep the kids busy until mummy comes to pick them up', but they're actually interested in introducing them in different fields of knowledge, through activities and while playing.
Also, family environment and very friendly stuff.

My son really enjoys Active Learning Kingston. The team do a great job keeping the kids entertained and have a wealth of activities that not only keep them active but also stimulate their minds meaning they are always learning new skills. His key worker is also great at keeping us up to speed, with
both his ongoing development and day to day activities.

My son has been at the nursery for the past two years and loves going to there so much that some days he doesn't want to leave when I pick him up! We have been really impressed with how he has developed through the variety of activities the nursery has to offer. He has grown from a shy little boy to
being a confident preschooler - the friendly staff are fantastic and always keep me up to date on how my son is doing. What I really like is that there are specialist teachers for art, music, sport, nursery etc. who have a passion for their subjects to make learning fun. We are very glad to have chosen this nursery for our son who is very happy there and he has made so many good friends there even at such a young age.

Since joining Active Learning Kingston my daughter has learned so much. Starting off with not knowing a word of English to now fully being able to speak and understand the language within 6 months is truly amazing to watch. She has developed so much socially and academically. Staff here are always approachable
and very friendly. The teachers have brilliant lessons which my daughter always talks about starting from Art, nursery teacher, sports, and music.
I picked this nursery out of 15! And I am glad I made the right decision and can see its effects! Thank you to all the brilliant staff!

I have worked in the Early Years Sector for 18 years and started working for Bright Horizons Victoria Road Kingston in 2014 as Deputy Manager, being promoted to Manager in March 2016.
I hold a BA Hons degree in Early Years and Child Education and an Early Years Professional Status. I am passionate about providing a high quality of care and education.


As Manager, one of my objectives is to offer each child a safe, warm, and caring environment in which they can feel happy and secure to enable them to thrive so that they are confident and happy and ready for school. I lead my team to provide excellent childcare and education for all of the children and their families in our care

I have been with Bright Horizons for 15 years now. I started my journey at Pimlico Nursery and Preschool in 2005 and have worked myself through the nursery up to Deputy Nursery Manager in 2013. Whist working I completed my BA Hons degree in Early Years. I then joined Bright Horizons Victoria Road Kingston in September 2016 as a Deputy Manager. I am passionate about the work I do and it gives me great satisfaction to encourage and nurture children’s learning and development. I work closely with the Nursery Manager to provide an inviting, safe and warm environment for all the families that come to the Nursery.
