Situated just off Ontarion Way, Columbus Courtyard Day nursery is ideal for commuting parents and provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The well-qualified team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences, within a carefully planned curriculum with Bright Horizons' unique Ready for School programme.

Fostering an enjoyment of early literacy and maths, with Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians Enhancement, helping children to recognise letters, words and numbers in their environment. With the benefit from the rooms having floor to ceiling windows in every room to accommodate big adventures. In addition to Growing Enhancements, the children enjoy Cookery club, visits sports coach and Bilingual Beats sessions.

The nursery makes the most of their captivating surroundings by taking the children on strolls to discover the local area. The excursions often involve a visit to the Docklands Museum, enjoying time on the rooftop garden, observing the boats on the riverfront and playing in the secure courtyard.

Since our little one joined Columbus Courtyard Nursery, her learning journey has always been exciting, children get to enjoy a morning walk and if the weather is not as pleasant there is a large playroom where they are free to run around and enjoy various activities.
The practitioners are excellent,
they are extremely caring and affectionate, some particularly are great fun and are vital for our daughter’s learning, whether it is related to gaining new dancing skills or practising writing her name, she is always happy and I know that she has had a brilliant day.
I truly appreciate staff organising plenty of activities involving parents although I feel there should be more opportunities to meet the children's key persons and discuss how the child is developing emotionally, socially and within the fine motor skills sector.
Overall a great place!

Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard is a really good nursery. It is our son’s first nursery and we are very happy with it. We could see a good change and development in our son and we are really content with the staff. They are very caring and friendly and what’s most important is that my son likes them
and he is starting to make friends as well. He only started seven months ago and we can see good changes in his behaviour. I would totally recommend!

An exceptional experience for the little once. Staff are warm, kind and supportive. We could tell our daughter is enjoying her experience here as she is always excited to come to nursery. The indoor playground is a very nice facility.

Everything is very well planned in the nursery for the babies and the toddlers. I love the place and the vibe and the fact that my baby is happy there. The staff are good and they keep posting photos so that I’m confident that my little one is happy.

We absolutely love this nursery. Our son has grown in confidence since being here. Everyone is kind and supportive. It is always upbeat, and all of the staff are absolutely so lovely and friendly. Every day he is happy to tell us about everything he has done in his day. He is learning so much without
having any sort of strict lessons, and he seems to be absorbing new things all the time. I think it's doing a fantastic job setting him up for the school, and we will be sad when he has to move on.

Great nursery in E14. Lots of space for the little ones to play in. Very friendly and caring staff in the rooms. Our son has developed great learning and social skills by attending the nursery. He enjoys going to the nursery where he has made some very good friends. Would recommend.

I really like the care, nurture and learning given to my child from all the carers that makes me feel that my child is in a safe pair of hands. Since our son started at the nursery over a year ago (at 9 months old), there's been a significant transformation, particularly with the change in management.
Previously, the frequent use of temp staff was a concern but now, with consistent, qualified and friendly staff, the atmosphere feels more
stable and personal. Baby room staff are super caring towards the little ones.
The new management has excelled in making the nursery not just educational but also a warm, communicative environment. Regular updates about our son’s day through an app and at pick-up are invaluable as well as regular, organised events for us to join in.
It’s evident that management is approachable, always ready to discuss any "concerns" or questions we might have. This has given us immense peace of mind, knowing our son is in good hands every day.
The progress and improvements under the new leadership have been remarkable, making our nursery choice a reassuring part of our daily lives.

Hands down the best nursery and the friendliest staff - I feel super comfortable and super safe leaving my child at this nursery.

This was the first nursery my son started with and I am so pleased we selected this nursery as his first nursery. I and my husband are very happy with the experience. My son was in the toddler room and now is in the blue room as he turned 3 years old. The caring staff and manager are all very friendly
and take care of my son in a super considerate way. Definitely, I will highly recommend it to all parents.

My husband and I are really happy with the experience we have been having so far at the nursery. My daughter is in Blue room as she is almost 4 years old, and every time she comes back from the nursery, she is always super happy and excited for the multiple activities done. She draws and paints a lot,
things that we found amazing to develop her creativeness. The main point of improvement is about the food, too many international dishes with often lots of spicy food that our daughter doesn’t like and I honestly don’t understand why they could not have more plain food which will be ok for every culture. It is also not 100% clear for us, what does it mean when they say that she ate “most of the lunch/tea”, I would be happy to know what exactly she ate. 3 weeks ago my daughter had bad constipation and that’s where I found out that she was mainly eating rice! If I had received more details about what she was actually eating, I could have compensated with a different type of food at home.

My son started nursery at 9 months of age and has been going on and off due to this pandemic situation. However, the Columbus Courtyard daycare has been exceptionally good for him. I love the management and their personal approach. They never disregard your questions and are always happy to help. The
staff keeps moving but I think they have a good number of long service staff too. Overall, I feel pretty confident in sending my son as I feel secure and safe about the entire environment.

My daughter has been at Columbus Courtyard since she was 6 months old (she is now 26 months). This nursery has the most caring, dedicated and attentive staff you can find. This is truly a 2nd home for my daughter. Her key person always keeps us updated on her progress and areas to work on, and most
importantly - she loves her. Each child has a personalised approach to milestones, be it the language skills or potty training. Almost every day my daughter goes out of the nursery with some sort of creation of her own - from the various arts, music, baking and other excellent activities. Above all, I can really see that she is happy there. I must also say that the nursery has adapted to the new pandemic-related requirements surprisingly quickly and well, an example to other organisations. All in all, the Columbus Courtyard nursery team is like a family to us now. We are very thankful.

Our daughter has attended Columbus Courtyard since she turned one year old. She has always enjoyed all the activities and has built up good relationships with the staff and other children. We have been pleased with the nutritional and varied menu, and that the children have freshly prepared meals every
day. Whilst it's a pity there is no outside space, the children regularly go out to explore Canary Wharf. The management team are helpful and very responsive and we have found the practitioners in each of the rooms to be friendly, caring and professional. We are pleased we made the decision to send our daughter to Columbus Courtyard and would recommend the nursery to others.

With a master's degree in Childhood Studies and a background as a qualified teacher, I've explored various roles like nursery nurse, mentor, holiday club manager, nanny, teaching assistant, and deputy manager. The early years are where I feel most at home, finding immense reward in giving children a strong start to flourish into well-rounded individuals.


My focus lies in supporting children's emotional well-being and instilling vital skills like co and self-regulation, crucial for their future resilience. Additionally, I'm passionate about metacognition and fostering key learning behaviours in the early years for lifelong support. Beyond direct work with children, I thrive on supporting families, building robust parent partnerships, and recognising parents as lifelong influencers in a child's learning journey.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and joined Bright Horizons in 2019. I have had the opportunity to gain more managerial experience while still working in rooms sharing my knowledge and introducing new songs to the children. I have built good relations with the children and parents and this is reflected in the nursery. I have been a part of the team to helped build the nursery and gain a strong Ofsted rating and look forward to working alongside the new management team to drive the success of the nursery.
