Situated just off Ontarion Way, Columbus Courtyard Day nursery is ideal for commuting parents and provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The well-qualified team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences, within a carefully planned curriculum with Bright Horizons' unique Ready for School programme.

Fostering an enjoyment of early literacy and maths, with Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians Enhancement, helping children to recognise letters, words and numbers in their environment. The rooms are light and spacious. Kids are not stuck to one room all day long as there are an art atelier and a big playroom for running and bicycles. They go out every day for walks on the river, hunting letters, numbers and shapes in Canary Wharf or playing football on the grass in Westferry Circus.
Kids also spend time outside in Columbus Courtyard. They do sports and yoga with coach magic. Our child has been here since she was a baby and we have been very happy with the care she has received. She is in the preschool room now and she has made excellent progress with phonics, letters, numbers, counting and writing. Excellent nursery, the management is much better now, great menu and chef! And overall lovely ladies who are kind and happy to care for kids.

We sent our daughter to nursery just after her first birthday when I went back to work. The Bright Horizons team made it a very easy experience for us all. The practitioners/key people for my daughter are so lovely and helpful, my daughter is excited to see them and go to nursery each time. I was worried
about my daughter getting to sleep in the nursery with it being a new environment, but the experienced practitioners found a way to settle her and she naps every day there. In the first settling in the week they took lots of pictures of my daughter and put a collage together to show what she had been up to, which was especially comforting given at the moment we can't go in to see her in the nursery due to Covid. The meals they cook are healthy which was very important to us and it's great knowing she has her breakfast, lunch and tea. We have been very happy with the nursery and would highly recommend to anyone looking at it.

The best child care in and around Canary Wharf. While it's difficult to get in sometimes because of the waiting list, after your child starts, it’s a wait worth a lot more. Thanks to all the team at Bright Horizons.

The practitioners are very friendly, caring and professional. My child really enjoys going to the nursery. I love the fact the nursery it has a big playroom and all the children get to have a walk outside every day. Although for the past couple of months, they lost access to the playroom to another
nursery group (did not receive any written communications about this). There were also multiple complaints about the air conditioning in the nursery. I had expected such a basic requirement to immediately be rectified in a private nursery. However, there was no air-con this entire summer and instead some fans on some hot days. Unfortunately, the air ventilation is still poor and there were very unpleasant smell and sweat. As a result, my child got heat rash at one point. I also wish there was more teaching. My friends' child at the same age is learning phonetics, writing letters and counting beyond 30 in another nursery while this nursery is still focusing on recognising letters and colours.

Very friendly, professional and helpful staff. Nice and warm family for kids especially for the starting period. Kids get safe and all-round care from the nice carers, it really relieves the pressure of the parents.

My son loves going to nursery. When we pick him up he doesn't want to leave but likes to stay longer to play with his friends. Staff are all very kind, warm and supportive which makes me 100% comfortable leaving my son under their care.
Bright Horizon Columbus Courtyard has a kitchen which I treasure
the most because I know my son can have freshly prepared food every day. They also have a large playroom which allows my son to run around and kill some of his energy. Spanish class and yoga class are an extra bonus. My son loves them all.
Bright Horizon also arranged various activities for the parents. I am looking forward to attending the Discovery Day and the Mother's day photo shoot. No wonder Bright Horizon Columbus Courtyard is popular and space is not always available. If you want to enrol your children in here, act quick!

My daughter absolutely loves the nursery. Staff is always very helpful and engaged and the Valentine's Day parent and child activity was absolutely fabulous. As a mother, I so much appreciate what the staff is doing for kids on a daily basis. All those creative activities, baby yoga, Spanish classes

I highly recommend Columbus Courtyard. This nursery has exceptionally high standards of care. The staff are warm and friendly and provide many opportunities for learning and entertainment. The meals are prepared on site and are always nutritious. My daughter loves the Spanish lesson and enjoys her walks
out in the wharf with her friends. Managers are always friendly and approachable which is so important.

Staff and the teachers are very friendly and my daughter enjoys going to the nursery.
The only concern is the outage of the air conditioning system as it has been going on since June 2018 as far as I know.
A number of complaints have been raised from the parents, so I am hoping it has been heard.

The nursery staff are always approachable and friendly. My son's key person(s) always keep me informed about his daily activities. He likes them, some weekends, he tries to call them using the home intercom system (he thought it's a telephone.)


Eating was one of my, so many, worries, then when I

know my son often finishes his meals, sometimes even two portions, I guess the food must be tasty for him! The menu is on the board so I can see what he had. Food is prepared fresh daily on site.


The nursery has done an excellent job of supporting the kids learning in many areas. In the last 7 months, my son has made so much progress. One thing I would like to highlight is that they really support and encourage bilingual. His key person(s) can even say some words in my own dialect to make my little one comfortable and to build that connection. Amazing!


I would definitely recommend this nursery.

My son has been at nursery for past 1.5 years. Me and my husband are very happy with the facility, practitioners and management team. Rooms are very clean, spacious and full of natural lights. Food is freshly prepared at the nursery kitchen and its full of nutrients. Management staff is very friendly.
Practitioners are very good with kids and dedicated too. My son is very happy at the nursery.

It's almost coming up to a year that my child has been attending Columbus Courtyard and as a parent, I am completely at ease knowing that she is safe and well looked after. The staff and management have been very welcoming and easy to talk to and my child has mingled very well with the children and
adult members.


Regarding my child and the nursery, I have always been informed about general information and any occurring changes that were due.


None the less, my overall all experience as a parent has been nothing but positive!

My daughter moved from another Bright Horizon nursery to Columbus Courtyard a year ago. I was personally quite anxious about the transition but it all went very smoothly, credit goes to friendly staff and management.
Our experience so far has been very good; manager and practitioner understand any
concerns from parents and help to solve it.
Learning and good behaviour is what this nursery strives for in children and with my experience, I can vouch for that.
I would highly recommend this nursery to new parents.

My husband and I were very worried when our child started at Columbus Court Yard nursery, mainly because our child has always been a fussy eater and sleeper. The settling period was difficult but the practitioners were very supportive, understanding and patient (to our child and both of us parents!).
After 6 months at the nursery, I am confident to say that we really trust the management team and the practitioners. They approach any issue with a calm attitude and profound experience. I can see clearly that they do care about the children besides just doing their jobs. Seeing your child being excited for school when dropping her off and her happily waving goodbye to her friends and staff when picking her up - that's the feeling I think any mum would want to have. Many thanks to the management team and staff!

Our boy has been at Columbus Courtyard for the past 6 months and my husband and I are pleased with the facilities, staff and management team.


The nursery has spacious rooms with big windows allowing natural light in, lots of toys, books – even a slide in my son’s room! There are also different

activity rooms and a big playroom which our boy loves to play in.


We are also impressed by the staff and management team. Friendly, approachable, they always take time to welcome our boy once he comes in and discuss with us his progress and things we can do either at home or what they are planning to do at the nursery to further support his development.


We also really like the activities he is participating in - gym class, cooking, drawing, walks on the Wharf, messy play. Lastly, we really appreciate the daily updates we receive talking us through his day.

We have seen him grow so much over the past 6 months and we are certain he is well taken care of. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery!

My daughter has been at this nursery for 6 months now and I only have positive feedback on the staff and facilities here. My child is happy and engaged, having initially been rather nervous and sensitive. The staff always welcome her, activities are interesting and the general atmosphere is happy.
The
management team are also excellent.
My eldest also attended the Nursery 4 years ago and I am happy to see that some of those staff remain too.

Both my husband and I are very happy with the standards at CC nursery.
The manager and the rest of the administrative personnel are very professional and kind. One thing they always do which is also very appreciated - if we do not take our son to nursery but forget to notify them, they always give
us a call. It's an important sign of the fact that things are under control.
We also like to receive the weekly updates and to have detailed diaries about our son's activities and progress at nursery.


The practitioners are dedicated and close to the kids. If we ask for extra attention on some specific points, they always take care to update our son's nanny as she picks him up and/or to write some extra notes in the diary.


Our son has been going to CC for more than 2 years now and we are very satisfied with his experience. He loves the special activities such as the Spanish lessons, the sports sessions, and outdoor chalk drawing.

I saw quite a few nurseries when we were searching and this one was immediately my favourite. The person who took us round was so lovely, answered all our questions happily and set our nerves at ease.
The staff there are fantastic - maternal, understanding, fun and trustworthy. It’s such a huge decision
to leave your child with someone but their care is exceptional and we haven’t hesitated at all to send her here.


What struck us most about the nursery was the space - it’s spacious, clean, there’s lots of different activity rooms and the indoor play area is fantastic. So we knew our daughter would have fun, which would help her settle quicker.


Our little one has some allergies but there are clear processes in place to safeguard the children and as all the meals are prepared fresh on site, we know there’s no need to worry. I have recommended this nursery to lots of our friends and will continue to do so. Two thumbs up for Columbus Courtyard nursery and their fantastic staff!!

Hello, I'm Tyler, the Nursery Manager at Columbus Courtyard.


With a master's degree in Childhood Studies and a background as a qualified teacher, I've explored various roles like nursery nurse, mentor, holiday club manager, nanny, teaching assistant, and deputy manager. The early years are where I feel most at home, finding immense reward in giving children a strong start to flourish into well-rounded individuals.


My focus lies in supporting children's emotional well-being and instilling vital skills like co and self-regulation, crucial for their future resilience. Additionally, I'm passionate about metacognition and fostering key learning behaviours in the early years for lifelong support. Beyond direct work with children, I thrive on supporting families, building robust parent partnerships, and recognising parents as lifelong influencers in a child's learning journey.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and joined Bright Horizons in 2019. I have had the opportunity to gain more managerial experience while still working in rooms sharing my knowledge and introducing new songs to the children. I have built good relations with the children and parents and this is reflected in the nursery. I have been a part of the team to helped build the nursery and gain a strong Ofsted rating and look forward to working alongside the new management team to drive the success of the nursery.
