Situated just off Ontarion Way, Columbus Courtyard Day nursery is ideal for commuting parents and provides care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

The well-qualified team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences, within a carefully planned curriculum with Bright Horizons' unique Ready for School programme.

Fostering an enjoyment of early literacy and maths, with Growing Readers, Writers and Mathematicians Enhancement, helping children to recognise letters, words and numbers in their environment. With the benefit from the rooms having floor to ceiling windows in every room to accommodate big adventures. In addition to Growing Enhancements, the children enjoy Cookery club, visits sports coach and Bilingual Beats sessions.

My son is seven years old. He comes to Columbus every half term and has a great time. He has been coming since he was 18 months old and now has some really good friends that have been coming just as long. The ladies have always treated my son with the best care and have a loving attitude to all that
comes.


I would be glad to recommend this nursery and all the staff there. Thank you for taking such great care of my boy.

My son attended Columbus Courtyard from the age of ten months, we then transferred to another nursery when the nursery was closed down for eighteen months but he recently joined the nursery here again around seven months ago. He was always very happy to come into nursery especially to play with his
friends and also his key staff within his room.
He loved going to the activity rooms within the nursery the soft play room and playroom but also loved spending time around the Canary Wharf area to be able to run and explore the environments.
He has since gone to school and I feel that the nursery has helped a lot in his smooth transition to school where he is making lots more friends.
He still talks about his friends at the nursery and the staff here too.

Our son recently joined this nursery and he has settled incredibly well, for the first time ever he is excited to go to nursery and is happy for me to leave the room at drop off.
The facilities are fantastic with a soft play area for the smaller children and a large indoor playground too. The rooms
are large, bright, spacious and well equipped, staff are generally very attentive, friendly and enthused and our son has become very attached to his key worker who is a delight!


The nursery doesn't have a dedicated outdoor playground however the children do go out and explore Canary Wharf and the local area often. I work in Canary Wharf and frequently see the children outdoors. The groups always appear well organised and the children happy.


Finally, there are additional, thoughtful touches like water and fruit that parents are welcome to help themselves to at home time (very useful when you forget snacks for the journey home) that demonstrate how this nursery goes the extra mile.

Absolutely love this nursery, my daughter is so happy here after switching from another and I love how despite being part of the Bright Horizons company they have retained that personal connection that you usually get from smaller independent nurseries.


They don’t have their own outdoor space but

they more than make up for it in the exploration they do around Canary Wharf. My daughter frequently visits the roof garden, Docklands Museum or library as a group.


Getting the children school ready is one of the things I really love about this nursery, my daughter's speech, writing and recognition of numbers/alphabet has come a long way despite only being there 3/4 months. My only regret is not switching her to this nursery sooner.

My granddaughter had been attending Columbus Courtyard Nursery for a while now and have no complaints. My wife and I always drop her off and pick her up from the nursery and she is always happy when arriving and leaving to go home. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Management are very helpful
and always there to help when needed. I would love it if they had an outside area because my granddaughter loves going out. I would recommend this nursery to all my friends and family.

My daughter attended this nursery from age 1 to 2 before moving out of Canary Wharf and London. We have seen her grow and develop into a very independent and cheeky personality. The staff and practitioners are amazingly attentive to the children. We will sadly miss being part of this nursery.

I would highly recommend my son's nursery to anyone. We have recently left the nursery but we're always greeted with a hello and a smile.
The staff are always polite and friendly and are always happy to help with whatever problems I had on the day.


They do not have a garden on site but he used

to enjoy going outside and exploring Canary Wharf.


I was really anxious when my son first started, he was a very fussy eater and would only eat pasta and cheese. Since joining the nursery, the staff in his room have worked really closely with our family to encourage and build the confidence for him to widen his food variety. It is so much easier now when we go out for family meals, I have one less thing to worry about. I thank all the team at Columbus Courtyard for helping us through this period.

I would recommend Columbus courtyard to my friends and family :) Everyday I feel comfortable leaving the child I look after at the nursery as everyone is welcoming and friendly. I also get a good handover at the end of each day so I know exactly what kind of day they have had. The nursery is nice and
spacious and they have lots of different activity rooms, they like the Playroom in particular!

Hello, I'm Tyler, the Nursery Manager at Columbus Courtyard.


With a master's degree in Childhood Studies and a background as a qualified teacher, I've explored various roles like nursery nurse, mentor, holiday club manager, nanny, teaching assistant, and deputy manager. The early years are where I feel most at home, finding immense reward in giving children a strong start to flourish into well-rounded individuals.


My focus lies in supporting children's emotional well-being and instilling vital skills like co and self-regulation, crucial for their future resilience. Additionally, I'm passionate about metacognition and fostering key learning behaviours in the early years for lifelong support. Beyond direct work with children, I thrive on supporting families, building robust parent partnerships, and recognising parents as lifelong influencers in a child's learning journey.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and joined Bright Horizons in 2019. I have had the opportunity to gain more managerial experience while still working in rooms sharing my knowledge and introducing new songs to the children. I have built good relations with the children and parents and this is reflected in the nursery. I have been a part of the team to helped build the nursery and gain a strong Ofsted rating and look forward to working alongside the new management team to drive the success of the nursery.
