The well-qualified team of highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced staff work together to provide a well-balanced programme of fun activities and learning experiences, within a carefully planned curriculum with Bright Horizons' unique Ready for School programme.

I used the nursery for both my children, my daughter now in pre-school 'graduated' from the nursery last year but she still asks to come for half term to play with friends and staff. My son is 2 and loves it here too. What makes this nursery is the management on site and staff.


They are always happy

to chat with parents and always try to accommodate any small requests that would make your child happier or more comfortable whilst they are with them. The managers are very friendly and approachable and very thoughtful in regards to each individual child.


I know my children are safe and happy when they are at nursery.

My pre-schooler son (3.5 yrs old) has been with the nursery since Jan 2018.


After an extremely awful experience for our son from another nursery, switching to Columbus Courtyard is certainly one of the best decisions we could’ve made. And perhaps, a decision which we will always regret of not having

done earlier in 2017.


Upon switching in Jan 2018, our son’s transformation was phenomenal. Within about 4-5 weeks, our son has come out of his shell again. Transforming from an extremely quiet and reserved little boy and into this much bubblier and confident child (much his usual self!). He’s willing to talk again, to interact and learn to trust his carers, started to make friends again to other children etc.


I can say my son (and younger daughter now) are in extremely good hands: physically, socially and emotionally – under Columbus Courtyard’s care. Couldn’t rate this nursery higher!


P.S. Not just the staff, fellow parents here are lovely as well. This is always a great bonus.

My son has been in the nursery for over 1 year. He started around 3 years old and really enjoyed it in the nursery. I am very happy with the teachers in the preschool room as can tell from my own kid how much he likes them. There are many activities to do inside and outside of the nursery and the
learning activities have been improved a lot in the past months. All staffs in the nursery are very kind and kids are happy and polite. Parents may also enjoy the longer opening hours than most nurseries. I would highly recommend the nursery as this is a place you can be confident to leave your kids while you work.

My child is very happy to go to nursery and has bonded very well with not only the children but the staff, which are very friendly and helpful.
There is a very good atmosphere in the whole building and in the classroom, which reassures you that your child will enjoy his time there.

Our daughter attended the preschool class for a year and was very happy. She had developed a great relationship with the staff and was very fond of her key worker. She left to attend a preschool however we plan for her to go back during some term holidays. It's a very convenient location if you're working
in Canary Wharf, they have a large indoor play space and recently renovated to a very good standard. Lunches and meals provided are excellent and key workers did a great job in encouraging our previously fussy eater to try a variety of different foods. We no longer have a fussy eater! An excellent childcare option overall.

We are new to the nursery, from the tour to meeting all the staff have, we have been made very welcome from the beginning. Staff are very supportive and friendly of our daughter's needs and our daughter asked to go back after the second day each morning with no tears!
Newly renovated also, very clean
and big space throughout.

Our son has been at the nursery for over a year now and we have been very impressed with the quality of care he receives. He was naturally nervous when he first started going but very quickly felt comfortable and now loves going every day.

What impresses us the most is that all of his carers have
built a real bond with him and all seem to genuinely care about his development. We get a detailed update (verbal and written) each day when we pick him up on what he’s been doing, his learning, any problems he is having etc. He takes part in lots of different activities throughout the day, learns a lot and has a lot of fun!

All of the staff are very professional and easy to deal with. The facilities and space are great, and they make good use of the outside space in Canary Wharf.

We first sent our son to this nursery in August’17. We were initially apprehensive about leaving him but the staff were (and still are) very supportive, kind and friendly during our settling-in. It’s been amazing watching our son grow and develop. He’s come out of his shell and is becoming much more
independent. We have Columbus Courtyard to thank for this. He always has such a cheeky grin when we pick him up so we know he’s had a good day!
We love how bright, airy and clean the nursery is and also the different rooms (soft play, big play area etc) available to the children. We think it’s fantastic that the kids get taken out for daily walks to get fresh air and to exercise their little legs!
Our little boy is encouraged to take part in many varied activities, such as playing with sand, painting and baking. To get messy and creative! It’s brilliant that we get to take home his efforts but it would be good if we could have more!
The nursery does a sterling job. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

My daughter (now 5) started full time at Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard (then part of Little Unicorn) before she was one. For her entire 3 years there, our mind was at peace at all time and she loved the nursery. Now my one-year-old son attends (part of Bright Horizons) 3 days a week. The ladies
in his room took great care to ensure he settled in well. We are delighted to see many familiar faces from my daughter’s days and that the already very impressive facility is even nicer after the refurbishment. The daily routine is thoughtfully planned and children are provided with a broad range of activities, even the very young ones — my son recently finds joy in doing handprints and loves his Friday Spanish story and song session (which he initially found strange). Fresh food is cooked from the kitchen on site. Every time we enter the nursery, walking down the corridor, we are met with warm greetings, not only from the staff but from the older children too. Couldn’t recommend this nursery more highly!

Both our sons go to Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard. Children are very well looked after by the professional staff with genuine care towards them. My older son has a severe allergy and they have always managed it so well that we don't have to worry at all. The nursery has high ceilings and big homerooms
with a great variety of activities planned throughout the day to keep the children engaged. One of my favourite parts is that the children, (no matter the age), all go out for a walk around the Wharf every day. It's a great way for them to explore and not to feel 'trapped' in the nursery all the time. All the staff are lovely and very easy to talk to. We would definitely recommend this nursery.

I was recommended by a mummy before choosing a nursery for my little girl. I was about to force myself to send my girl to a nursery which I didn't like and wasn't comfortable with.


However, I would definitely recommend this nursery as personally, this is the best in the area! Cleanliness, staff,

location, etc. Although they do not have their own "outdoor" playground, they do bring the little ones out as much as possible, so rest assured the little ones are having a good experience at the nursery. The toys available are quite wide-ranged, so they are not playing with limited toys. They also try to assess the safety of each and every toy (such as a walker, which impressed me) or any pieces of furniture available in the baby room.


Everyone (really, everyone) recognises your little one by name, and they are all seemed really experienced and caring. I can't stress how much I like this nursery compared to the others. Please look around before sending your little one in!

Our son joined at 10 months old, now he is 2 years and 7 months!
We have seen him along the way learning how to walk, express himself, taste different foods, playing, singing, telling stories and all that he has and is becoming, a little person, or not so little I should say!
Besides all the ups
and downs on the learning path, the staff at the nursery have always been very good with him, understanding his way of dealing with things, like when he wakes up from naps... not an easy moment, or when he is not listening, or when he is behaving well and praised for it.
All those moments and time at the nursery are contributing a lot to his development and we are very happy about how is working out.
Thanks to all at the Columbus Courtyard nursery for contributing to his development and for helping us out, his parents, with such an important task!

After visiting all the nurseries in the area, I decided to go for Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard Day Nursery. 1/ Amazing staff that genuinely care for my daughter. Even the staff from other rooms would know her, say hi or tell me things they observed her doing and the nursery is spotlessly clean.
2/ Facilities are great with an inner courtyard, where kids can play, cycle and use small cars. There is also a ball pool room. 3/ They adjust to any situation. For example, my daughter has a type of lactose intolerance with some dairy products and they were happy to adjust and are helping me build up her digestive system. 4/ They take the kids out every day when the weather allows, and if not, they can use one of the inner rooms. 5/ My daughter at fourteen months is doing painting, activities with sand, with water, she even did pottery.... As a working mum, I want to know that my daughter is well-taken care of in an environment that develops her. This is a great place for that.

It has been such a pleasure to watch how my daughter develops and grows since she started this nursery.
The staff are kind, professional and really helped with the settling in process. Also, the level of care and education are excellent. The staff regularly give detailed feedback about what she does
during the day. My daughter is always happy here when I arrive to pick her up. I would highly recommend the Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard Day Nursery.


We used to take a diary and also photos to see what they have done in a day via the app at the end of the day. Now, we take all info about their day on paper which is not bad, but I would rather use an app. I hope they go back to using the app.

I personally recommend the Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard Day Nursery and Preschool. The staff are absolutely amazing, friendly, always helpful and they take excellent care of my daughter 5 days a week. Their attention to detail, as well as the personal touch they provide, fills me with confidence
that my daughter is in their safe and careful hands daily (weekdays).


The facilities are also brilliant and the location is perfect. Columbus Courtyard is the second Bright Horizons Day Nursery and Preschool we have used and it and it is by far the best.


Any parent looking for a safe and secure environment for their child, this is the place, they are the leading from the front and are the best of the best!

With a master's degree in Childhood Studies and a background as a qualified teacher, I've explored various roles like nursery nurse, mentor, holiday club manager, nanny, teaching assistant, and deputy manager. The early years are where I feel most at home, finding immense reward in giving children a strong start to flourish into well-rounded individuals.


My focus lies in supporting children's emotional well-being and instilling vital skills like co and self-regulation, crucial for their future resilience. Additionally, I'm passionate about metacognition and fostering key learning behaviours in the early years for lifelong support. Beyond direct work with children, I thrive on supporting families, building robust parent partnerships, and recognising parents as lifelong influencers in a child's learning journey.

I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and joined Bright Horizons in 2019. I have had the opportunity to gain more managerial experience while still working in rooms sharing my knowledge and introducing new songs to the children. I have built good relations with the children and parents and this is reflected in the nursery. I have been a part of the team to helped build the nursery and gain a strong Ofsted rating and look forward to working alongside the new management team to drive the success of the nursery.
