The manager and the rest of the administrative personnel are very professional and kind. One thing they always do which is also very appreciated - if we do not take our son to nursery but forget to notify them, they always give us a call. It's an important sign of the fact that things are under control.
We also like to receive the weekly updates and to have detailed diaries about our son's activities and progress at nursery.
The practitioners are dedicated and close to the kids. If we ask for extra attention on some specific points, they always take care to update our son's nanny as she picks him up and/or to write some extra notes in the diary.
Our son has been going to CC for more than 2 years now and we are very satisfied with his experience. He loves the special activities such as the Spanish lessons, the sports sessions, and outdoor chalk drawing.
The staff there are fantastic - maternal, understanding, fun and trustworthy. It’s such a huge decision to leave your child with someone but their care is exceptional and we haven’t hesitated at all to send her here.
What struck us most about the nursery was the space - it’s spacious, clean, there’s lots of different activity rooms and the indoor play area is fantastic. So we knew our daughter would have fun, which would help her settle quicker.
Our little one has some allergies but there are clear processes in place to safeguard the children and as all the meals are prepared fresh on site, we know there’s no need to worry. I have recommended this nursery to lots of our friends and will continue to do so. Two thumbs up for Columbus Courtyard nursery and their fantastic staff!!
I used the nursery for both my children, my daughter now in pre-school 'graduated' from the nursery last year but she still asks to come for half term to play with friends and staff. My son is 2 and loves it here too. What makes this nursery is the management on site and staff.
They are always happy to chat with parents and always try to accommodate any small requests that would make your child happier or more comfortable whilst they are with them. The managers are very friendly and approachable and very thoughtful in regards to each individual child.
I know my children are safe and happy when they are at nursery.
My pre-schooler son (3.5 yrs old) has been with the nursery since Jan 2018.
After an extremely awful experience for our son from another nursery, switching to Columbus Courtyard is certainly one of the best decisions we could’ve made. And perhaps, a decision which we will always regret of not having done earlier in 2017.
Upon switching in Jan 2018, our son’s transformation was phenomenal. Within about 4-5 weeks, our son has come out of his shell again. Transforming from an extremely quiet and reserved little boy and into this much bubblier and confident child (much his usual self!). He’s willing to talk again, to interact and learn to trust his carers, started to make friends again to other children etc.
I can say my son (and younger daughter now) are in extremely good hands: physically, socially and emotionally – under Columbus Courtyard’s care. Couldn’t rate this nursery higher!
P.S. Not just the staff, fellow parents here are lovely as well. This is always a great bonus.
I have used their emergency care service a number of times. Lovely staff who make my son feel welcome, great facilities and i feel safe leaving my son in their care.
My son has been in the nursery for over 1 year. He started around 3 years old and really enjoyed it in the nursery. I am very happy with the teachers in the preschool room as can tell from my own kid how much he likes them. There are many activities to do inside and outside of the nursery and the learning activities have been improved a lot in the past months. All staffs in the nursery are very kind and kids are happy and polite. Parents may also enjoy the longer opening hours than most nurseries. I would highly recommend the nursery as this is a place you can be confident to leave your kids while you work.
There is a very good atmosphere in the whole building and in the classroom, which reassures you that your child will enjoy his time there.
Our daughter attended the preschool class for a year and was very happy. She had developed a great relationship with the staff and was very fond of her key worker. She left to attend a preschool however we plan for her to go back during some term holidays. It's a very convenient location if you're working in Canary Wharf, they have a large indoor play space and recently renovated to a very good standard. Lunches and meals provided are excellent and key workers did a great job in encouraging our previously fussy eater to try a variety of different foods. We no longer have a fussy eater! An excellent childcare option overall.
Our son has been with the nursery since he was 16 months old and has blossomed into a bright and extremely confident 3 year old. He enjoys his days thoroughly at nursery and even asks us if he is going to the Blue Room on weekends!
Newly renovated also, very clean and big space throughout.
What impresses us the most is that all of his carers have built a real bond with him and all seem to genuinely care about his development. We get a detailed update (verbal and written) each day when we pick him up on what he’s been doing, his learning, any problems he is having etc. He takes part in lots of different activities throughout the day, learns a lot and has a lot of fun!
All of the staff are very professional and easy to deal with. The facilities and space are great, and they make good use of the outside space in Canary Wharf.
We love how bright, airy and clean the nursery is and also the different rooms (soft play, big play area etc) available to the children. We think it’s fantastic that the kids get taken out for daily walks to get fresh air and to exercise their little legs!
Our little boy is encouraged to take part in many varied activities, such as playing with sand, painting and baking. To get messy and creative! It’s brilliant that we get to take home his efforts but it would be good if we could have more!
The nursery does a sterling job. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough!
My daughter (now 5) started full time at Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard (then part of Little Unicorn) before she was one. For her entire 3 years there, our mind was at peace at all time and she loved the nursery. Now my one-year-old son attends (part of Bright Horizons) 3 days a week. The ladies in his room took great care to ensure he settled in well. We are delighted to see many familiar faces from my daughter’s days and that the already very impressive facility is even nicer after the refurbishment. The daily routine is thoughtfully planned and children are provided with a broad range of activities, even the very young ones — my son recently finds joy in doing handprints and loves his Friday Spanish story and song session (which he initially found strange). Fresh food is cooked from the kitchen on site. Every time we enter the nursery, walking down the corridor, we are met with warm greetings, not only from the staff but from the older children too. Couldn’t recommend this nursery more highly!
Both our sons go to Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard. Children are very well looked after by the professional staff with genuine care towards them. My older son has a severe allergy and they have always managed it so well that we don't have to worry at all. The nursery has high ceilings and big homerooms with a great variety of activities planned throughout the day to keep the children engaged. One of my favourite parts is that the children, (no matter the age), all go out for a walk around the Wharf every day. It's a great way for them to explore and not to feel 'trapped' in the nursery all the time. All the staff are lovely and very easy to talk to. We would definitely recommend this nursery.
I was recommended by a mummy before choosing a nursery for my little girl. I was about to force myself to send my girl to a nursery which I didn't like and wasn't comfortable with.
However, I would definitely recommend this nursery as personally, this is the best in the area! Cleanliness, staff, location, etc. Although they do not have their own "outdoor" playground, they do bring the little ones out as much as possible, so rest assured the little ones are having a good experience at the nursery. The toys available are quite wide-ranged, so they are not playing with limited toys. They also try to assess the safety of each and every toy (such as a walker, which impressed me) or any pieces of furniture available in the baby room.
Everyone (really, everyone) recognises your little one by name, and they are all seemed really experienced and caring. I can't stress how much I like this nursery compared to the others. Please look around before sending your little one in!
It has been 3 months my son has been going to Bright Horizons day nursery. I am fully satisfied with the staff and the environment of the nursery. I am very happy with the developments like speech, activities I am seeing in my child. Staff are very good and caring. Thanks to all. Thanks a ton.
We have seen him along the way learning how to walk, express himself, taste different foods, playing, singing, telling stories and all that he has and is becoming, a little person, or not so little I should say!
Besides all the ups and downs on the learning path, the staff at the nursery have always been very good with him, understanding his way of dealing with things, like when he wakes up from naps... not an easy moment, or when he is not listening, or when he is behaving well and praised for it.
All those moments and time at the nursery are contributing a lot to his development and we are very happy about how is working out.
Thanks to all at the Columbus Courtyard nursery for contributing to his development and for helping us out, his parents, with such an important task!
After visiting all the nurseries in the area, I decided to go for Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard Day Nursery. 1/ Amazing staff that genuinely care for my daughter. Even the staff from other rooms would know her, say hi or tell me things they observed her doing and the nursery is spotlessly clean. 2/ Facilities are great with an inner courtyard, where kids can play, cycle and use small cars. There is also a ball pool room. 3/ They adjust to any situation. For example, my daughter has a type of lactose intolerance with some dairy products and they were happy to adjust and are helping me build up her digestive system. 4/ They take the kids out every day when the weather allows, and if not, they can use one of the inner rooms. 5/ My daughter at fourteen months is doing painting, activities with sand, with water, she even did pottery.... As a working mum, I want to know that my daughter is well-taken care of in an environment that develops her. This is a great place for that.
I am satisfied with the services.
The staff are kind, professional and really helped with the settling in process. Also, the level of care and education are excellent. The staff regularly give detailed feedback about what she does during the day. My daughter is always happy here when I arrive to pick her up. I would highly recommend the Bright Horizons Columbus Courtyard Day Nursery.
We used to take a diary and also photos to see what they have done in a day via the app at the end of the day. Now, we take all info about their day on paper which is not bad, but I would rather use an app. I hope they go back to using the app.

Meet the Team (2)
Hello, I'm Tyler, the Nursery Manager at Columbus Courtyard.
With a master's degree in Childhood Studies and a background as a qualified teacher, I've explored various roles like nursery nurse, mentor, holiday club manager, nanny, teaching assistant, and deputy manager. The early years are where I feel most at home, finding immense reward in giving children a strong start to flourish into well-rounded individuals.
My focus lies in supporting children's emotional well-being and instilling vital skills like co and self-regulation, crucial for their future resilience. Additionally, I'm passionate about metacognition and fostering key learning behaviours in the early years for lifelong support. Beyond direct work with children, I thrive on supporting families, building robust parent partnerships, and recognising parents as lifelong influencers in a child's learning journey.
Hello
I have worked in childcare for over 20 years and joined Bright Horizons in 2019. I have had the opportunity to gain more managerial experience while still working in rooms sharing my knowledge and introducing new songs to the children. I have built good relations with the children and parents and this is reflected in the nursery. I have been a part of the team to helped build the nursery and gain a strong Ofsted rating and look forward to working alongside the new management team to drive the success of the nursery.
