Partou Turney Road Day Nursery Pre-School - rated Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2020 - has a well-earned reputation as one of the leading providers of childcare in the Dulwich area. The nursery offers outstanding care to children aged three months to five years and is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, for 50 weeks of the year (closed for two weeks over Christmas).

Conveniently located on the corner of Turney Road and Croxted Road, a short distance from Herne Hill and West Dulwich railway stations, the nursery enjoys bright and airy rooms and a wonderful garden.

There are separate rooms for the under twos and over twos, furnished with age-appropriate toys and resources, ensuring that the best possible standard of care, development and education is provided. The outside play area allows children to play and learn outdoors to further enhance their experience at the nursery.

The nursery operates a key person policy, ensuring that children are cared for by a member of staff who gets to know parents and their children really well.

Great emphasis is placed on creating a loving, nurturing and warm environment for children. Meals are included in fees and children receive nutritious lunches and teas every day.

Free childcare is available to eligible three- to five-year-olds, childcare vouchers are accepted and the nursery offers free settling in sessions for new children.

My older two children attended another branch of Nelly's Nursery a few years ago, and now my youngest is at Turney Road. As with my older two, my husband and I have been extremely pleased with how she has settled in and above all the caring and positive atmosphere created by the staff, who really seem
dedicated to making sure the children are happy, stimulated and well cared for. The facilities at the nursery are great - a charming little garden with lots of outdoor toys, and well thought out and equipped indoor play and activity areas, but with a homely feel. Our daughter loves her time at Nelly's and has become very fond of the carers and other children. I would certainly recommend it.

Both my children attend/have attended Nelly's Turney Road. The staff and management team there provide a nurturing, positive and safe environment for children to learn, tailoring activities to meet the needs of individual children. There is an overwhelming atmosphere of care and commitment amongst the
staff. Staff turnover is very low which is a huge positive for me. Both my children are/were extremely happy there due to the high standards maintained by this wonderful staff team.

Nelly’s is an excellent nursery. Our daughter has been going there since she was two and she flourished there. The level of care is outstanding – from what she eats, the activities she does and the interaction with parents, there is very little we would change. Her progress is tracked regularly and
they work well with parents to improve areas requiring attention. They encourage children to be independent, thoughtful and assertive. The only thing we would suggest changing is the illness policy. Every spike in temperature requires the child to go home, even if it is a one off.

Our daughter has been at Nelly's since she was 7 months old. We are really happy with the culture and home from home environment they provide. The staff are terrific and the low turnover means that they are all brilliant at knowing her comforts and likes and dislikes. There is a wide range of activities
which she loves including whippersnappers and PE. She also surprised us the other night by counting in French.

My oldest son was at Nelly's from 2012 - 2015, and my youngest is still there. We love everything about the nursery. The staff genuinely care about the kids and take excellent care of them. The development reviews are well structured and they strike the right balance between encouragement and development.
I am dreading our last day - there will be tears!

Our son has enjoyed every day of his 3 years at Nelly's Nursery. The staff have been like family for these most important years. They have given him all the support that he needs to enable him to become the confident little boy he is. He has done PE activities, reading and all the motor skills, social
and emotional development as well as cognitive development. There really is not anymore we could have wanted.
