Partou Turney Road Day Nursery Pre-School - rated Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2020 - has a well-earned reputation as one of the leading providers of childcare in the Dulwich area. The nursery offers outstanding care to children aged three months to five years and is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday, for 50 weeks of the year (closed for two weeks over Christmas).

Conveniently located on the corner of Turney Road and Croxted Road, a short distance from Herne Hill and West Dulwich railway stations, the nursery enjoys bright and airy rooms and a wonderful garden.

There are separate rooms for the under twos and over twos, furnished with age-appropriate toys and resources, ensuring that the best possible standard of care, development and education is provided. The outside play area allows children to play and learn outdoors to further enhance their experience at the nursery.

The nursery operates a key person policy, ensuring that children are cared for by a member of staff who gets to know parents and their children really well.

Great emphasis is placed on creating a loving, nurturing and warm environment for children. Meals are included in fees and children receive nutritious lunches and teas every day.

Free childcare is available to eligible three- to five-year-olds, childcare vouchers are accepted and the nursery offers free settling in sessions for new children.

We love Nelly's Turney Road! Our 15-month-old all started in the baby room a few months ago and we were impressed with them from the get-go. They offered a long settling-in period (4-6 weeks) which really supported our son's transitions. They have been able to support individual children's routines/nap
schedules which we found really reassuring. The staff are truly wonderful and we feel like all of them have a vested interest in all the children there. Contact with his key worker is very frequent and the daily update are so appreciated. We really feel like he is thriving in a nurturing environment. We are also very impressed with the management at Nelly's. Overall, a great place!

My grand-niece has been attending Nelly's Nursery Turney Road since November 2020 and she has been okay. However, I raised a concern about her speech 7 to 8 months ago because she is 3 years old and I could hardly hear what she says and yet she has been attending a reputable Nursery. At her best, she
was only muttering and this was very disturbing to me; she was unable to say hello and request for something etc. I raised this with my elder sister who passed on my concerns to the school. To my excitement, in the last 6 months, my grand-niece has improved and can now talk for England. Whatever has happened in the last 6 months at the Nursery is commendable. She is very happy and comes home to recite whatever she learns. I am now a happy grand - aunt. Well done Nelly's Nursery Turney Road, keep up the good work. Thanks.

My daughter has been attending Nellys Turney Road for a couple of months and is settling in brilliantly due to the excellent staff and facilities. The staff are all so friendly, they have welcomed my daughter wonderfully and she is really getting to know them. They contact me to put me at ease if she
has a wobble after drop-off and provide updates throughout and at the end of the day. The nursery itself is lovely and homely with great food and an outside area with lots of educational toys and areas for the kids to explore safely. I am delighted with the nursery so far and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Super happy with our key worker, she was born to work with children and our little girl is super happy at Nelly's Nursery. She had actually been to two other nurseries before starting at Nelly's and Nelly's is head and shoulders better than the other two. Looking forward to watching her grow and develop

Friendly and happy staff. Immediately created a bond with my three-year-old daughter and made her feel comfortable and safe. Lots of interesting activities for the kids to do throughout the day - crafts, painting, cooking, sandpit, water etc and all of the other kids also look very happy while there
too. I've picked my daughter up various times and at short notice throughout the day and she is always playing and enjoying herself and never upset or looking bored. The staff very accommodating and flexible - always happy to answer questions and share updates on how our daughter's day has gone.

Excellent placement. My baby is gradually growing into a contented, happy, appreciative confident, respectful and assertive little girl.
At this point in her life, social skills are crucial, and l can see the footprints as the days go by.
The nursery is quite a distance from me. But l am pleased that
l choose to do the miles.

Highly recommend Nelly's Nursery - Turney Road. The care is over and above and I feel my son is in a very safe environment when I leave. The staff are attentive and my son adores them. He now runs to the door and can't wait to get in. He eats really well and learnt from nursery to eat a variety of food.

What a wonderful nursery and set of employees. Our second small human is there at the moment (with our first having been there for the best part of 2 years). They are genuinely friendly, kind and caring. We struggled to find a nursery that felt warm and welcoming for our children, given many others
in the area charged similar amounts but had an air of not caring or annoyance at the kids to be around (some not even paying attention. Whether your small human is upstairs or downstairs, the staff constantly engage the children. They eat proper, balanced and varied meals (not just pasta and parmesan every day). There's a genuine concern for their wellbeing (physical and mental), and that comes across at all times and is evident in our interactions with the staff. What's also fantastic is the opening times; from our research, they are one of the earliest to open (7.30 am) and one of the last to close (6 pm), which is fantastic. All in all, it's a marvelous nursery.

This is a lovely well run nursery, the staff are very warm and interested in the children, their likes, dislikes and individual personalities. Communication is good, given the current covid situation, with a daily diary, regular photos/observations and phone conversations about anything where necessary.
My two year old started part time in October 2020, settled very quickly and is now full time and he runs in through the gate each day happily. The garden area is very well equiped, and my son likes to play there as much as possible. They seem to have a good range of activities, which are always changing, as well as (importantly) allowing for free play.

Our daughter moved to this nursery in January from another provider. She has settled in very quickly in one week and really enjoys her time there. Our daughter now aged 8 months, started ar Nelly's in January. I was very apprehensive as she's never been to any childcare setting before but she seems to really enjoy it and we are very happy with it. We get sent lots of lovely photo's of what the children have been doing, she happily goes to her
key worker in the mornings and she chats excitedly about nursery on her days at home. We feel she is very safe and well cared for and making lots of friends.

Our daughter started at Nelly's Turney Road in November 2020, when she was on the cusp of turning 2. To minimise the numbers of changes in our daughter's life she was placed straight into the 2-4-year-old room which she loves and which has been so stimulating for her. The changes in development, learning
and confidence have been staggering and we are very happy with our choice of nursery. The staff are excellent, caring, considerate and endlessly creative in their offerings of activities. We would highly recommend Nelly's Turney to other families.

I looked around many nurseries before choosing Nelly's Turney Road. The reason I choose Nelly's is the staff are incredibly caring, full of energy and have a real enjoyment in looking after the children. I have two children who have attended this nursery and they have both made really good friendships
with the other children, enjoyed delicious and healthy meals and were always playing and having fun. They make birthdays particularly special because each child has a birthday tea with cake and a little present. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery.

Child loves it. Staff very caring and work to clearly set monthly activity plans. A sense of real effort, e.g. asking for a list of words in French (I'm French so we are trying to raise our child bi-lingually) and the daily photos, care updates and activity logs are excellent. Very pleased we got on
the waiting list early.

Our son has attended Nelly's Nursery - Turney Road for just over a year. We are so happy with Nelly's, our son is incredibly happy and has thrived in the warm and fun environment. The nursery is well organised and communicates effectively with parents. Its online platform, Tapestry is also a lovely
way for us to view the daily life of our son whilst at Nelly's. We wish we had sent our older two children to this nursery!

Nelly's is an excellent Nursery. The staff are so caring I know that I have nothing to worry about when I drop my son off in the mornings. The setting is homely with lots of engaging activities. The food sounds delicious and my son really enjoys it. I am an early years teacher and looked at many nurseries.
Nelly's really stood out to me. My son has been there for 18 months and I couldn’t recommend it more.

Top nursery with excellent facilities and staff... have had a great experience for my 2-year-old. They were very supportive during the pandemic and talking to other friends (whose kids are in other nurseries) realised that Nelly’s responses during 2020 have been the best - supporting staff and kids
families during tough times.


They are defo a 5-star nursery (even confirmed by the Ofsted rating). Keep up the good work.
