Set near the scenic Tooting Bec Common, the Tooting Looking Glass Day Nursery and Preschool in Tooting Bec is conveniently located a 10 minute walk from Tooting Bec Station, and a short drive to Tooting town centre. They also have a buggy storage area to make pick-up and drop-off as easy for you as possible.

Fantastic staff, facilities, especially in summer time now it is sunny.


Would like a mix of healthier food - not just breadstick snacks - but healthy options too.


Management emails are too many with poor grammar and spelling.


But very well run, friendly and convenient.

Overall very pleased with how my daughter has settled.
I think there should be a greater variety of food offered, some days the food eaten all day has been very starch and carbohydrate heavy. (toast and cereal, breadsticks, pasta, pudding, apple slices for example)
Not enough green vegetables! I've
never seen broccoli on the menu, only peas and sweetcorn. What about berries in the summers?
I don't think cornflakes are a substantial/nutritious enough breakfast.

My husband and I first joined Looking Glass in April 2012 with our first daughter who was 11 months at the time. It is now April 2017 and we still use Looking Glass as our 2nd and 3rd daughters attend. By the time they leave, Looking Glass will have been looking after our children for 7 years. We could
not ask for a better standard of care. Our children have been loved and cared for, from the moment they arrived, not to mention all the wonderful learning through play activities.

My son attends L.G. regularly and enjoys his stay. He interacts with various members of staff, kids and toddlers from other classes and plays and learns something new every day. The nursery plans various activities depending on the classes and also extra activities that can be attended if interested.
Overall, the feedback is very positive, the staff and all the members are friendly and supportive of the kid's development. Keep it up with the hard work!

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I joined my first Bright Horizons nursery in September 2014 and was drawn in by the Growing Readers programme which embodied everything I loved about inspiring children to develop their love of reading and gave me the tools to make the learning experience truly fantastic. Even as the manager I still take the time to have story times with the children when I can. I have an absolute passion for open-ended, loose parts and heuristic play. I love adding natural resources such as flowers, leaves, herbs and sticks to enhance children’s learning experiences and really engage the imagination.


I am very environmentally conscious and try to be as sustainable as possible, reusing tins from the kitchen and all the packaging that comes into the nursery. I enjoy finding imaginative things to do with them. I am a very hands-on leader who loves to inspire my team with great ideas for activities.

I am the Deputy Manager and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) at Tooting Looking Glass Day Nursery.


I have over 10 years of experience working with children and I hold a level 3 in Child Care and Education.
Before I joined Bright Horizons I was a manager of a smaller nursery, I have experience as a learning support assistant and senior nursery nurse in the primary education sector supporting classroom teachers and children of different ages. My role as a SENCO can be varied - I am responsible for assessing, planning and monitoring the progress of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). I support the identification of children with special educational needs and coordinate provision for them too. I also liaise with parents and with other providers such as outside agencies, educational psychologists, health visitors and speech therapists to ensure we are supporting the children in the best way possible. I create support plans for children and organise tailored activities/interventions to support their development.


My role as Deputy is to assist Terry in providing professional leadership and management of the nursery. I promote the health, safeguarding and well-being of children as well as being a role model to other staff to deliver high-quality experiences and care for the children.
