Set near the scenic Tooting Bec Common, the Tooting Looking Glass Day Nursery and Preschool in Tooting Bec is conveniently located a 10 minute walk from Tooting Bec Station, and a short drive to Tooting town centre. They also have a buggy storage area to make pick-up and drop-off as easy for you as possible.

Our son cheers and claps with delight when we arrive at the nursery! He's been at the nursery since he was 9 months old and is now nearly 2. Looking Glass strikes the perfect balance of a large, well-equipped, clean, professionally-run facility, with large individual gardens for each age group, combined
with warm, well trained and caring staff who make my son feel loved and nurtured. The office team runs the place incredibly professionally, but with equal warmth. You know they all really care about their work and the children they care for.
In particular, the nursery's response to COVID has been incredible. At every step it has put the families' wellbeing first. From safety measures, fees, clear communication and ongoing support with home learning. I can't recommend this nursery more strongly.

It is great to see the nursery get a new garden. My daughter loves the outside space. The nursery is going from strength to strength and the management are great and supportive. The staff at Bright Horizons Tooting are absolutely fantastic. I can't praise them enough. Not only are my son's carers in his room some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet, but all the nursing staff are also friendly and genuinely fond of my son. Our son took a while to settle
in but his keyworker was (and continues to be) so affectionate and loving towards him. She made such a difference. I also had a hug from her every day which was so lovely! Our son has come along so much in his development in the three months he has been at nursery too. I wouldn't hesitate to praise you all. Thank you so much.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough. It has been amazing. I have both my children there and they have loved coming there. The keyworkers they have work with us and are so supportive. I love the new garden too.

As a grandmother, you want to ensure your grandbaby is very well taken care of. Coming into the nursery you can feel the warmth and love from the staff and see their passion for what they do. When visiting it's great to see the activities the children have available and all the resources. The garden
space is amazing and very large. The nursery feels very secure and having to bring ID and provide a password to collect made me feel very assured my grandbaby is safe. The management team were very helpful in taking me to the right place and helping with the pushchair which can be tricky.

I have had a great transition into the nursery. The staff have been amazing, very friendly and welcoming. I have seen a range of activities being carried out for the children which is lovely to see especially messy ones.
The management team have been great and been on hand to answer any queries or

I have had a great experience coming to the Looking Glass Day Nursery. They are very attentive and on hand to offer support and guidance for a 1st time mum who can be quite anxious. They seem to have a very wide breadth of knowledge and passion for what they do. Coming into the nursery you feel your
child will be safe especially when they ask for ID at the front door and ensure you're signed in so they can track the comings and goings. Feel very reassured.

So I came to see nursery 3 months ago and I really liked the feel of the environment. I registered right away and have started in August. I must say the best decision I made for my child. Looking Glass Day Nursery and preschool is an amazing nursery you always feel welcome when you come in and my son always gets greeted when entering his room which makes my son smile. The staff are friendly, professional and have a warming personality which shows through their work with the children.
The management is one of a kind always there if you want to talk about any problems and issues I might have as a parent of the nursery and it always gets dealy with and never forgotten. Overall it is an excellent nursery.

My child has had the best possible start at Looking Glass Day Nursery. The new garden looks amazing and it's great to see the nursery develop. My child is very happy there. Looking Glass has been fantastic for my daughter who joined at 6 months and is now 15 months old.
We intend to keep her at Looking Glass for as long as they'll have her!


The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and importantly, caring when it comes to the children they look after.
Everyone I've met

has been so welcoming, always asking questions and listening to what's going on in her life.
Yes, sometimes the administrative side of things is a little chaotic but I feel this is more a company issue (not staff).
The opening hours are brilliant and the garden is massive - a huge plus.
My daughter has learnt so many new skills, made lots of friends and is always engaged in some activity from painting to Yogabugs.
Some staff also offer babysitting (through personal arrangement) and I think this demonstrates just how much they love the children in their care.


Thank you Looking Glass for making her so happy and making my life so much easier.

We are so pleased with Looking Glass! Management were extremely helpful from the onset and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Our son's teachers are loving and caring and extremely professional. I love how everytime I walk into the room they are engaging the children. My son has only

Looking Glass staff have been great with my son. Patient and caring.
He is developing a great independence thanks to their support. A great team.
Communication from office staff could be better. We were unaware parents were invited to Xmas party for example.

I feel like nursery is a lovely environment and that my child has flourished here. He comes home having learned new skills (he now does actions to twinkle star!) eats independently and is happy to be left. I feel very confident leaving him and really enjoy collecting him and seeing his happy friends
every day. The children seem happy and the staff ar very caring - all in all, very happy.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I joined my first Bright Horizons nursery in September 2014 and was drawn in by the Growing Readers programme which embodied everything I loved about inspiring children to develop their love of reading and gave me the tools to make the learning experience truly fantastic. Even as the manager I still take the time to have story times with the children when I can. I have an absolute passion for open-ended, loose parts and heuristic play. I love adding natural resources such as flowers, leaves, herbs and sticks to enhance children’s learning experiences and really engage the imagination.


I am very environmentally conscious and try to be as sustainable as possible, reusing tins from the kitchen and all the packaging that comes into the nursery. I enjoy finding imaginative things to do with them. I am a very hands-on leader who loves to inspire my team with great ideas for activities.

I am the Deputy Manager and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) at Tooting Looking Glass Day Nursery.


I have over 10 years of experience working with children and I hold a level 3 in Child Care and Education.
Before I joined Bright Horizons I was a manager of a smaller nursery, I have experience as a learning support assistant and senior nursery nurse in the primary education sector supporting classroom teachers and children of different ages. My role as a SENCO can be varied - I am responsible for assessing, planning and monitoring the progress of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). I support the identification of children with special educational needs and coordinate provision for them too. I also liaise with parents and with other providers such as outside agencies, educational psychologists, health visitors and speech therapists to ensure we are supporting the children in the best way possible. I create support plans for children and organise tailored activities/interventions to support their development.


My role as Deputy is to assist Terry in providing professional leadership and management of the nursery. I promote the health, safeguarding and well-being of children as well as being a role model to other staff to deliver high-quality experiences and care for the children.
