I have had a wonderful experience at Bright Horizons Balham. The staff are amazing and helpful. They have done nothing but support my daughter and I throughout the whole process of introducing her to nursery. I have nothing but good words to say and I highly recommend them.
Warm and loving care.
Supportive and nurturing.
Since joining the nursery, my son has developed in so many ways. He is more confident and balanced and looks forward to going into nursery.
I have had a very good experience with the nursery and the amazing staff members.
However, Balham Day Nursery put my mind at ease as soon as I stepped through the doors.
My son settled in quickly and loves going to nursery.
He has enjoyed learning through play and has realised many developmental milestones.
The staff are great and friendly.
The staff are friendly and extremely welcoming.
Our son was a notoriously bad sleeper and within the first week he had settled in and was sleeping for 2 - 3 hours a day.
The food is of a good standard but has room for improvement. A greater variety of fruits would be good.
We wish the nursery would digitise the daily reports by sending updates via an app rather than a written piece of paper.
Overall the nursery is fantastic but could be more affordable for parents as currently, it is one of the most expensive in the area.
I completely trusted every one of them to look after our daughter from the age of 9 months.
Each member of staff fully understood her preferences and personal needs relating to her allergies.
They always made time to listen and a full feedback was provided at the end of each day.
The managers are fabulous and truly care about all the children and their families.
My daughter has not long started in the baby room and the settling period was very stressful for us, but the key worker made it so comfortable and really reassured us. Me and my husband were both happy to leave our little girl there. The room is beautiful and it's always set up and ready with great activities and resources. The room is organised and clean and hygiene is very important to us. We always receive great feedback from the key worker who is so loving and has made an amazing bond with our little girl. She always tells us about her day and again makes our time very reassuring. When we drop our little girl off for breakfast she is always happy to go to nursery and as soon as she sees the girls she gets excited and doesn't want to go home. It's also great as the children go for walks in the buggies which is really nice as its important for our little one to get outdoor time. Thank you for the girls in the baby room for making our first nursery such a great experience.
My son has been attending this nursery for 2 years, he’s been in every room and he loved it a lot. All the nurses are very kind and they really do care. The rooms are always clean and ordered. Managers are always available and happy to help you with any inquiry you have. What I like the most about it is the staff. Never seen so kind, friendly, open and lovely people, always paying attention to every kid in a room, my son can’t stop talking about them, so it’s not only my opinion! They have Spanish classes and sporty minis. We are not British, so everything my son knows in English is because of the nursery and “oh my god” he knows so much, that I'm ashamed he doesn’t know so much in Russian.
I recently toured the facility as a prospective nursery/pre-school option for my child. The nursery overall is amazing- incredibly well laid out rooms, excellent facilities, impeccable cleanliness and one of the most beautiful outdoor gardens/play spaces I have ever seen. What truly struck me was the wonderfully calm atmosphere in each room- every child I met was happy, tranquil and truly enjoying their day.
The love and care that the staff have towards the children is brilliant- it truly felt like a home from home. I also loved the ethos of the children being given a great mix of structure and independence in their day. Quite frankly, it is the best nursery/preschool I have the toured and has completely put my mind at ease.
I used Balham Day Nursery for backup care for my daughter over 9 days. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there and looked forward to going in the mornings, this has not been the case for another backup care I used in the past. The nursery room setting for her age group was great and there is plenty of outside space for the children to play in. She loved all the activities provided, including story time, singing and feeding the guinea-pig. Balham nursery provided me with all activities she participated in, her nutrition and her overall experience each day. I would like to thank the team for all their support, attention and care of my daughter.
Balham SW12 - Very good onboarding process. The staff are very friendly and really care about the children. We felt confident that they will look after our son (18 months) and he enjoys every day at the nursery.
My son attends the baby room at Asquith's. It took him a while to settle in and everyone at the nursery were so patient and lovely to him at this time. He loves it now.
The garden is lovely and the children play and do activities outside a lot.
It's a little home from home for them.
I also notice my daughter made friends and all the nursery staff have been amazing, supporting her in this development.
Updates on her progress are regular.
It is a lovely environment. Overall, superb.
My son has been attending the nursery in the baby room for 6 months now and I have seen a real development in his physical skills and confidence. The staff treat all the children as if they were their own which is clear when you see the interaction between the children and all the staff members.
They are very cooperative in monitoring and improving on any skills and observations which have been mentioned by us.
I would definitely recommend the nursery and would return with my next child.
My son went to Asquith from the age of 6 months in the baby room to 2.5 (in the nursery room). The settling in process was well thought out with several sessions at different times of the day over a couple of weeks for him to get used to the new environment. Both baby and nursery rooms, offer a nice environment for kids, making them all feel welcomed. Regular feedback and updates are provided. Really pleased with potty training process too. My son showed signs that he was ready and nursery staff picked up on this and we discuss a plan of action together. The nursery manager goes above and beyond to accommodate changes/requests. Overall I couldn't recommend this nursery enough to parents. Very pleased with the care my son has received here. He has thrived in the nursery thanks to his key workers and other nursery staff.
We have already found, as our son has moved through from the baby room, nursery to the pre-school room that he has been well cared for, nurtured and developed. The range of age appropriate activities are both stimulating and fun; we often try to re-create these at home. Our son's vocabulary and speech have been well developed and I do believe this is in part due to the stimulation and learning that he has been encouraged to do at the various stages of his time at Asquith. The outside space is second to none locally; the children are very lucky to be exposed to this size of garden, including the various activities that the garden offers. We would have no hesitation to recommend the Balham Day Nursery to local friends and family.
The nursery staff have made a good effort to help my son settle into the baby room, they are always friendly and helpful and greet him by name. I am given a good summary of his day when I collect him and any issues are noted. The staff are willing to work with us to try to improve things too, for example giving him extra milk in the afternoons. The facilities are clean and well maintained, there are a wide variety of activities and the children are taken outside daily. My son has been singing songs from nursery at home, which is lovely to see. My suggestion for an improvement would be to change the bread and cheese/ham dinners as I find on these days my son is a lot hungrier/tired on collection. The other slight frustration for us has been staff changes, particularly as one individual who left was often the first point of contact for my son in the morning. Overall I am pleased with the standard of care and glad that my boy is so well looked after. Thank you for all your hard work!
Fantastic nursery/pre-school. Our son has made his way through each of the rooms and the staff has always been brilliant. Class sizes are always appropriate versus the number of staff and bumps and bruises (these things happen) are always reported so we feel very safe that they are monitoring our son and the children effectively. The outdoor area is beyond great and very rare in the area. We really like how often this is used, just wish there was a bit more sunshine to use it even more. Would never hesitate in recommending.
