Our son has been with the nursery for almost two years. We feel at ease with the staff and love the outdoor area as our boy is quite energetic!
He is happy and sociable and has made lots of great friends there.

My experience with Asquith Balham so far has been very positive. They offer a safe, welcoming environment, with a great array of activities - both educational and fun! We have seen a great response from our boy, who clearly enjoys his time there and has become more outgoing and adventurous. The staff
are warm and welcoming and clearly love their jobs and, most importantly, the children. Looking forward to more fun times in 2017!

My son attended Asquith Balham since he was 6 months old, until 4 years of age when we moved from the area. We have been so pleased with the love, nurturing and fun that he has had whilst there, it made choosing a new nursery very hard as we loved Balham so much and it set a very high standard. A special
mention goes to our son's key worker, always so happy to see him and available to discuss what activities they'd been doing. The room leader is also excellent we miss them both. We have found all the staff and support staff very attentive and friendly. Another mention is the manager, the nursery has got even better under her guidance, organising special events that parents and children have enjoyed and helping to build a great sense of community. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery.

I am a grandmother of a child within the nursery and I feel that the nursery is adequately staffed and well run. The nursery has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I feel my grandchild is very happy, well looked after and engages in a variety of activities that are set out by staff which help her
progress.

My 1.5-year-old son has attended the Asquith Balham Day Nursery for one year now. He has been very happy in the baby room and I am entirely satisfied with the care he receives there. He has flourished in the environment and is a well socialised and happy little boy who enjoys his time at nursery.

My 2-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter attend this nursery. My 3-year-old loves preschool and is really prepared for school life. My oldest daughter went through this nursery as well and was super confident when she went to school. I work full time so I need to be confident in my childcare arrangement
and I have complete confidence in the staff. If I am unhappy with anything, I can talk to staff and they accommodate my children's needs and the staff genuinely care about my children's well-being. My children are blossoming in this nursery and are safe and happy which is all you can ask for.

I love Asquith Balham Nursery. I feel completely at ease when I drop my son off in the mornings, knowing he is with people who care about him and go out of their way to keep him safe and comfortable. He genuinely loves the nursery staff and sometimes cries when it's time to go home! If I could rate
the staff any higher than 'Excellent', I would. Without hesitation, I would recommend this nursery to anyone and will be sad when the day finally comes for us to leave.

After spending one month at a rival nursery we quickly moved our son over to Asquith who moved heaven and earth to accommodate us at short notice. The manager and her team are attentive, friendly, caring and dedicated professionals. We are so impressed with our son's continued development and happiness
at the nursery, so much so that he often does not want to come home. We would not hesitate in recommending Asquith to anyone.

We have been at Asquith Balham Day Nursery since September 2016, following our relocation from Australia. The settling in period, allowed us all to get to know the staff in the baby room and our son's key worker. Building this relationship gave us confidence that he would be safe and happy in a caring
environment where staff provide a wide range of activities designed to stimulate and stretch him. The welcoming greetings and daily feedback from the lovely staff also reinforce our confidence that our child is well cared for.

The facilities are always clean and activities well laid out and our energetic boy absolutely loves the baby garden.

In addition, the manager's passion is evident in the way she always goes the extra mile to assist us with any queries and the organisation of wonderful events, such as the Christmas party. These have allowed us to get to spend quality time with the staff and other parents.

We would definitely recommend Asquith Balham Day Nursery.

My two children attend Balham nursery (4 year old girl and 7 months baby). They are both very happy there. The staff are extremely caring with the children and very welcoming. The nursery being in a big house and the team being so warm, it feels like leaving your children in a home, which is great.

Childcare is generally extremely expensive but here at Asquith Balham I feel that it's worth it. My child is nurtured, socialised, loved and educated here. I feel happy and reassured every day I drop him off and whenever I collect him I'm totally convinced he's had a great day in all aspects. The staff
seem to be all happy here too, and this translates to the children. Facilities are fantastic, it's always clean and tidy as much as a space constantly under attack from an army of little ones could possibly be and the staff make a huge effort to update you always on your child's progress. Criticisms? None spring to mind.

My son has attended the nursery since he was 1 and it has been such a wonderful experience for both he and I. The fun, education, friendship, care & love he (and us as parents) has received has been wonderful and I would not have him anywhere else. This has been invaluable especially as I work 5 days
a week knowing that he in his home away from home with people who love him like their own.

Excellent friendly nursery and always going the extra mile.

Smiles and good customer service when arriving and picking up our daughter.

Key worker friendly always well staffed. Never feel like there are too few supervisors vs babies.

Food seems to be of good quality and that is very important

and reassuring.

Very well designed and interesting garden that our daughter likes to play in.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.878) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Balham Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.878 for Bright Horizons Balham Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (233 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 263 Ratings = 4.878
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Balham Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
