Acorn at New Bradwell works in partnership with New Bradwell School and the Windmill Children’s Centre.

The nursery is small and friendly. It provides wrap-around care for children in the school’s nursery class. It offers after-school and holiday care for children in the main school. There are also free sessional places for eligible two-year-olds.

The nursery is light and spacious, with a homely and child-centred focus and also has an enclosed outdoor play area. As with all Acorn nurseries, the fees are fully inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities. The friendly staff welcome visits from prospective parents.

The nursery is open-plan, with a variety of different activity areas to support all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing a holistic environment which nurtures children’s curiosity and learning. Being a small nursery, it enables children of all ages to play alongside each other, with babies and toddlers being able to learn from the older children, while also enjoying their own space and time with their key person.

Younger children benefit from the support of the older children and the older children grow in confidence as they role model new skills. The carefully planned environment enables children to keep the same key person throughout their nursery experience. The children's key person develops the environment and activities to spark the children’s curiosities and interests as they learn through play.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

We couldn't be happier with the care our little boy receives at Acorn at new bradwell. All staff genuinely care about the children and everything they do is for the children's benefit.


It did take a while for my son to settle in as he started at 13 months old, but now at 17 months old, he is really

happy going in the morning and has really bonded with his key worker and other members of staff too.


We receive regular updates throughout the day and it is so amazing to watch him develop. We would 100% recommend this nursery to friends or family.

My daughter started here in October and has taken very well to her key workers. She has lots of fun with all the creative activities available at the setting and often enjoys listening to stories read. She has also started to try new foods.

Both my children love Acorn at New Bradwell. My eldest (4 years) has left for reception but still attends Acorn for breakfast and afterschool sessions. My youngest (1 year) attends Acorn at New Bradwell 4 days a week.
I don't have a bad word to say, I consider us very lucky to have such an incredible
nursery on our doorstep.

We've been really happy with the nursery since our child joined. Even as a baby, she's included in a range of engaging activities with the older children from sensory play to exploring different textures and we've seen a big difference in her development. She is definitely happier since she started
nursery. The month-long settling-in period really impressed us and made the transition so smooth. The staff are caring, attentive and flexible, always making sure her individual needs are met. It's a huge comfort knowing she's in such safe and loving hands.

My son thoroughly enjoyed his time in the club during the February half term. He made new friends and tried new things. The food was a hit also. The staff are very polite and give you feedback on what activities he has done.

We have now had both our children here and choosing Acorn New Bradwell has been one of the best decisions we've made for them.
The way they have the children all together but with loosely designated areas helped both our children settle and make friends more easily.
The staff are lovely, professional,
well trained, passionate, friendly and good fun. We get regular updates on how they're doing in terms of photos, reports and ad hoc feedback. Food is healthy and varied .It's a fab place.

My two boys see the nursery as their second home and extended family. All the staff are fantastic, loving and caring. We've been so pleased with the nursery since our daughter started. She's only a baby but seems to have the opportunity to join in so many fun activities alongside slightly older children, which is excellent for her learning. This includes role play scenarios, using pens, playing with textures (play
dough, water, cornflour mix). We've seen real development in her since she started a few months ago in terms of her understanding of words and her gross motor skills.
The team are so caring and we are lucky to be so assured our baby is being well looked after by loving and attentive staff

There is a certain level of expectation when it comes Acorns Nursery care and Bradwell did very well. The children loved the out of school clubs and it is of such great value. They are never bored and always come home with things they have learned or made.

Aimee has been working in Early Years for over fifteen years and holds the Early Years Professional Status. Aimee joined Acorn in February 2013 as Nursery Manager of New Bradwell. Aimee has completed an MA in Education, using action research to develop the practices of the nursery. Aimee works closely with the local school and children’s centre to meet the needs of the local community.

Outside of this, Louise has also completed OU courses 'Learning and Teaching in the primary years' and 'Introduction to Childhood Studies and Psychology'.
