Acorn at New Bradwell works in partnership with New Bradwell School and the Windmill Children’s Centre.

The nursery is small and friendly. It provides wrap-around care for children in the school’s nursery class. It offers after-school and holiday care for children in the main school. There are also free sessional places for eligible two-year-olds.

The nursery is light and spacious, with a homely and child-centred focus and also has an enclosed outdoor play area. As with all Acorn nurseries, the fees are fully inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities. The friendly staff welcome visits from prospective parents.

The nursery is open-plan, with a variety of different activity areas to support all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing a holistic environment which nurtures children’s curiosity and learning. Being a small nursery, it enables children of all ages to play alongside each other, with babies and toddlers being able to learn from the older children, while also enjoying their own space and time with their key person.

Younger children benefit from the support of the older children and the older children grow in confidence as they role model new skills. The carefully planned environment enables children to keep the same key person throughout their nursery experience. The children's key person develops the environment and activities to spark the children’s curiosities and interests as they learn through play.

  • Fees are inclusive of all meals, snacks, drinks (including approved formula milk), nappies and activities.
    We do not charge registration fees, only a £100 deposit which is refunded against the first month’s fees. We don’t charge for settling in sessions, but we do expect payment for all nursery fees to be paid up front at the beginning of each month, which is standard practice for all childcare providers. We do not charge for bank holidays, our four training days each year, or for the three days closure between Christmas and New Year. We do, however, charge for days children don’t attend through illness or holidays, apart from exceptional circumstances.

Our little one has loved his experience at nursery so far. Classes aren’t big so kids get all the attention, plus it’s free-flow, where inside and outside play is encouraged. The staff are very welcoming and patient with him. We can see growth and learning every day.

My son attends this nursery, after his sister went there a couple of years before. It's still fantastic - the staff, the facilities and everything are great. The manager is an amazing manager and she creates a great sense of fun and comfort about the place which I know has been ideal for my son. He
hadn't really met any other kids during lockdown and when he started nursery it was quite a change for him. He settled in so quickly, and we are so happy about the range of experiences he's getting there. My daughter was there from 2015-2018, my son started in summer 2021 and I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone.

My eldest little boy has been going to this Nursery since January 2020 and he absolutely loves it there! My youngest also now attends and loves it too. I can’t imagine them going anywhere else, the team are amazing.

Love this nursery! My eldest went here and was well looked after and now my 2-year-old attends too and has only been going for a few weeks and has settled in so quickly! The staff are all so friendly and welcoming and kind they look after the children so well, they are all so caring and make sure my
child feels welcomed. There are so many different activities for the younger ones and older ones to do if they want to play outside they can when they please. There is so much to keep them entertained it’s great! I really would recommend this nursery. I feel 100% comfortable leaving my son with these lovely ladies too.

This nursery has been nothing short of fantastic in the short time my daughter has been attending. All staff have made it easy for me to feel confident in leaving my child within their care they took amazing precautions during the pandemic and keep you updated all through the sessions with updates on

My daughter has been attending for over 2 years and I’m extremely happy with the nursery. My daughter is always so happy to go to nursery and I get lots of updates with what she is up to. Especially when they go to forest school which looks so fun! All of the staff are super friendly and my daughter
comes home talking about them all and how lovely they all are. My daughter has also met lots of lovely friends there and the setting is so lovely and stimulating. They have always been very flexible with the extra sessions that fit around my exams and I cannot thank them enough for this. During the school holidays, my other daughter also attends holiday club which is equally fantastic, and always comes home with great things she has made. I feel very satisfied with the level of care and kindness the staff kind and I would recommend this nursery to anyone!

The staff at Acorn have made me very comfortable and reassured that my babies are in safe hands. The staff know them very well and frequently feedback via the app with photos, videos and observations. The girls have come on leaps and bounds since being at nursery and I think the mixed age group approach
is benefiting them massively. I like the outdoorsy style of Acorn as I think it’s so important for them to get stimulation from nature and the fresh air. I know I made the best decision by sending my girls here.

The minute I stepped in to view New Bradwell I immediately felt that the environment was so calm and relaxed and it really showed through how happy all the children were there. My son is only into his 5th week there and he already absolutely loves going. They have made us feel so welcome and relaxed.
Every single staff member has a smile on their face, they always look very happy to be around the children. The way they talk to my son is so lovely and the fact he wants to go to any of them for a cuddle says it all. They are all so caring and are always happy to have a little chat with me which really brightens up my day! I really can’t fault any of them at all. They take such fab photos of my son that really reassure me! I can absolutely see why this nursery was so highly recommended to me. They are honestly amazing.

My son loves going to this nursery an adores the staff there too. From day one they have made his time a great experience for him. So much so that some days he doesn't want to come home. The staff are really friendly and have created a really nurturing environment for the children. There are lots of
variety for them with the activities they do and the layout is really open and has a great flow from the inside areas to outside. It really provides them with the freedom they need to express themselves as well as learn and develop. I would really recommend this nursery to anyone considering it.

Acorns at New Bradwell are amazing in everything they do. From the care they provide, constantly improving the setting, activities, the teaching, the care and love, support for parents to the healthy and interesting food choices. Both my children have been looked after here. My youngest has additional
needs and they have included him with every activity, making adjustments where possible. They have played a huge part in giving him the best start in his education. They’re awesome.

A fantastic nursery which I would highly recommend to anyone. The staff are all caring towards the children and so helpful when dealing with any concerns raised in regards to our child’s progress. The nursery is very nurturing.
My son loves the play-based learning activities and the teachers are always very imaginative in the tasks they create.
He loves having mixed ages in his class and has really benefited from the opportunity of caring for the younger children.
He loves all of his teachers
and they are all very caring and supportive of his needs.
I would highly recommend this nursery to everyone.

A great nursery, fabulous staff and most of all my little boy loves going here!
The food they provide is excellent and the Famly app they use is great for seeing what the little ones have been up to.
The open plan layout really encourages the smaller children to interact with the older children (and
vice versa) which is an excellent development feature of this nursery. Staff are fantastic and very understanding of personal issues.

My eldest daughter left Acorn this month and it was a very emotional experience. After attending the nursery for four years, she had become confident and secure in the environment and her key worker had formed a strong emotional attachment with her.
My younger daughter continues to thrive in the challenging,
stimulating surroundings and she is making a high rate of progress with her speech and social development.
The nursery is managed well by a calm and positive individual who puts the children at the heart of everything that they do. Creative play is predominant and children are encouraged to be independent. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who considers a child's welfare and personal development to be fundamental.

I have two daughters who use Acorn Childcare. My eldest daughter has attended Acorn since nine months old and is now 7. I am extremely happy with the childcare she receives and it's always been available for her at all stages of development. The range of activities and trips are excellent. The staff
are always happy and pleased to see the children and vice-versa. The staff know the children's personal needs and likes and dislikes really well and always try to include things they show an interest in and always go the extra mile. I am 100% assured my girls are happy and safe here.

Where to start? It's fabulous! We moved up to MK from London in 2012 and, after going to look round this nursery, we didn't even bother looking at alternatives, as it was perfect for us -- small, open plan, friendly staff and happy children.
Good balance of free play versus structured group time,
lots of messy play and a lovely outside area. Good range of extra activities, such as Forest School (for 3+), sports outside, games, trips to the park, library etc. Food is healthy and varied.
The manager and her team are calm, organised, friendly and you can tell that they really care about the children. My oldest daughter went there and loved it, and my youngest is currently enjoying her time there.
Can't recommend it highly enough! I'm so glad we found this nursery.

Aimee has been working in Early Years for over fifteen years and holds the Early Years Professional Status. Aimee joined Acorn in February 2013 as Nursery Manager of New Bradwell. Aimee has completed an MA in Education, using action research to develop the practices of the nursery. Aimee works closely with the local school and children’s centre to meet the needs of the local community.

Louise started with Acorn in June 2024., having worked in Early Years since leaving college over 23 years ago. During that time, Louise has worked in nurseries as well as Childminding and Nannying. Completing both Level 2 and Level 3 in Early Years. Louise has almost completed Level 5 on Leadership in the Early Years (April). Outside of this, Louise has also completed OU courses 'Learning and Teaching in the primary years' and 'Introduction to Childhood Studies and Psychology'. Louise is absolutely passionate about early years!
