WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - WEEK COMMENCING 4TH MAY 2026

Clever Cats and Clever Kittens Next week in Clever Cats we will be celebrating VE Day! The Clever Cats will be using their measuring skills and making scones! The Clever Cats will also be making their own bunting, following patterns and using scissors. The Clever Kittens will be making their own Union Jack flags and marching on their daily mile! The Clever Kittens will also be working on following patterns! Our song of the week is “V Is For Victory” and our book of the week is “Tessa The Turtle’s Tough Times”.

Ladybirds Next week the Ladybirds will be looking at VE Day, we will be exploring in the home corner that is set up as a picnic area to develop our imaginative play! On the craft table we will be able to explore with different materials all in the same colours of red, white and blue to create our own buntings.

The Ladybirds will also be heading off on a very exciting space adventure! The children will be exploring all things space through fun, hands-on activities designed especially for our youngest learners.

We’ll be developing our fine motor skills as we practise drawing circles and decorating them to create our very own colourful planets.

We’ll also be enjoying the song “Zoom Zoom Zoom, We’re Going to the Moon!”, helping us to build our number vocabulary and practise counting in sequence in a fun and engaging way.

We can’t wait to blast off and see where our imaginations take us!

Butterflies Next week within the Baby Room we will be celebrating VE Day with a range of fun, sensory activities for the babies. During the activities the babies will explore red, white and blue materials. We will also be exploring he topic of space, the children will be enjoying some sensory experience looking at light and sounds. We will be creating our own rocket using wooden blocks and introducing simple maths concepts.
