TicTots is a safe and welcoming environment for children to learn and play. The nursery is situated over two areas - for children up to the age of three years, there are two childcare rooms, a spacious Toddler room and a dedicated Baby Unit which benefits from their own outside play area, a kitchen and a children’s bathroom.

For preschool age children, the preschool is based within Ashton Primary School and offers a great programme for children planning to transition to Ashton Primary school. This is a more formal learning environment where staff lead children to ensure their behaviour is well managed and they are closely supported in preparing them for transition to school.

They follow the EYFS learning programme and teaching is led by a qualified teacher. Most activities at the nursery are child led to allow children to grow and develop at their own pace, often including opportunities in the outdoor area to learn about nature and the environment.

TicTots nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and each child has a key worker who is responsible for planning the best way to help each child with their own development. The Senior Management team are all qualified to degree level and teaching staff are all qualified to Level Three with two Level two trainees working towards their Level Three. They have two Housekeeping staff who are qualified to L2 Food Hygiene and Safety and they help to support children at mealtimes.

My daughter began nursery at TicTots in January of 2024, since beginning at the nursery staff have encouraged her to learn so much and her social skills have become amazing! She has come on leaps and bounds with making friends and communicating with staff, she’s learnt to toilet train with so much encouragement
from staff and learnt so many new numbers words and colours, I couldn’t recommend the nursery enough! I have never found a fault with staff and handovers have always been brilliant! They show so much compassion and kindness towards the children they look after and offer so much reassurance towards parents and carers! They make so much use out of their outdoor space when the weather is nice and always try to get out with the children to explore the outdoor environment teaching children major life lessons such as road awareness and teaching them about the environment around them, definitely would recommend to anyone who asked!

The best nursery I have used for my children by far, all the staff are lovely, really helpful and my daughter loves going to nursery every day. There are always different activities for the children and I'm always updated with everything she's been up to. It's brilliant, would highly recommend.

Had all three of my children at TicTots, one currently still there. Staff are amazing, friendly and attentive. They go above and beyond for the children and the parents. Regular emails and messages updating you on where your child is up to, what they are doing the following week and upcoming terms.

This nursery is five stars - both my children love it here. They teach them all sorts from how to be independent, good manners and of course help with development.
My little boy has struggled with pronunciation and was given an opportunity to work alongside the nursery in a speech and language course
over six weeks, which he loved. His speech has come on so much.
All staff and facilities are great here!

I cannot recommend Tictots Ashton, higher. They have been wonderful with my daughter, and she has developed so much in the last eight months. All of the staff are so caring and really put you at ease. I feel like I’m leaving her with trusted friends or family. The welfare and education of the children
are clearly paramount. My daughter's speech, behaviour and general demeanour have been amazing.
I can’t thank the team enough, especially her key workers. They work so hard, and it shows.

I have a special needs daughter who currently goes to preschool here and I can honestly say the staff are fantastic they go above and beyond for her. They have helped her settle and she absolutely loves the staff. Can not recommend them enough. Absolutely lovely nursery.

Our daughter has been attending TicTots Day Nursery & Creche Ashton for 12 months now, safe to say, she loves it. She goes in waving bye happily and comes out buzzing too. My little girl started nursery in September, she is very shy but all the staff are so good with her, very welcoming and friendly, she loves going to nursery! My daughter has attended TicTots Ashton full-time since being 14-months-old. She is now 3 and I couldn't recommend the setting enough. The staff are absolutely brilliant! They are enthusiastic about what they do and are always coming up with new ideas and activities for the children to participate in,
often relating to occasions throughout the year. They care about the children and their specific needs and requirements and provide a very welcoming and family-feel environment. As a parent, there has not been a single time where I have not been happy about the care provided for my child. Any queries or questions have always been dealt with professionally and it's probably one of the only nurseries in Preston that does not charge for holidays. Sick days are 50% reduced and fees go off an hourly rate which works out brilliant value for money.

We moved our child from his previous nursery to TicTots Ashton due to countless issues. We have noticed how much happier he is at this nursery, and his development and speech have come on a long way since moving. He is excited to attend nursery now. The nursery regularly gets the kids involved in activities
and goes out for walks daily. They also host stay-and-play events sometimes too. The best decision we made was moving him!

My daughter has been attending TicTots Ashton since she was 8 months old and has just moved into her final year in the preschool room. I've watched as my daughter has blossomed during her time there. She has really good relationships with her key carers, and her confidence and learning have developed
leaps and bounds. She always looks forward to attending the setting and loves playing outdoors and visiting the local parks, shops and green spaces. She especially loves to read and enjoys the new bike and scooter provisions. She enjoys all of her snacks and most meal times and seems very happy and settled within the setting. On top, I find it good value compared to other nurseries and find it helpful to book per hour (as long as you have a minimum 5-hour booking per day). This means as a part-time worker, I actually benefitted from returning to work and earning some wage as I would have had to pay a full day rate previously due to how my work hours fell. Deborah has been running the TicTots Partnership since February 2008. Working across all three sites, she is a qualified teacher leading and supporting the Senior staff team in building their knowledge to ensure the provision of high-quality childcare and education through informed observation. It is Deborah's passion that assessment and planning take place for all children, ensuring they progress in an environment of fun learning with stretch and challenge.

I joined the TicTots team in January 2018 as a key carer and have taught babies, toddlers and preschool throughout the years. I work in the early years because I enjoy supporting children to meet their goals and milestones and watching them become their very own person as they transition through the setting and leave for big school. Another passion of mine is supporting partnerships with families and those in the wider community.


In my spare time, I like to spend time with my husband and two children, and you can usually find us exploring the animals at the zoo or swimming at the leisure centre.
