My little boy has now been at Country Day for 8 months and absolutely loves it. He started at 9 months old and the staff have been absolutely amazing at reassuring me and keeping me up to date about his day. They are always doing a variety of activities and my little one has been showing lots of new skills he's learnt there. I couldn't recommended this nursery enough, it's met my expectations and more.
Country Day has been part of our family for 5 years, seeing both my children through. We have had a particularly tricky time personally and the nursery couldn't have been more supportive. Our child now has an EHCP, which was dealt with fantastically by the staff. My children have been very happy, supported and have learnt incredibly well. Both children have been well prepared for school and we will be very sad to leave this year due to our daughter going to school. I know I will keep in contact with staff however.
My son absolutely loves this nursery. He is so excited in the mornings to get there and rushes in as soon as he arrives. The staff have always been so kind and reassuring. Especially when he first started as I was nervous about him starting nursery and returning to work. The activities they do with him are so varied and he spends a lot of time outside. I can't praise the team there highly enough.
Would absolutely recommend this nursery. Both of my daughters have attended from around 11 months old and have both thrived there. The setting is brilliant and a lot of focus on being outdoors, staff are always friendly and helpful!
Week on week she is thriving, learning and developing more than we ever expected.
The nursery has the most beautiful setting in woodland, the food they offer is fantastic and the staff are very approachable. I would highly recommend the nursery to others and will be sending our other daughter too.
We love this nursery! The whole team are amazing and you can tell that all the staff have so much passion for their jobs. They care for the children and the families. Our little boy started in Little Acorns and when it was time for him he moved to the next room, Big Acorns, which was a bit of a rocky transition for him, but all the staff really helped him settle in and staff from his previous room would encourage and help him too and now he just loves it! We both are not ready for our Country Days journey to end when he starts school this year. I can't speak highly enough of the nursery. The outside spaces are just amazing for the children and the activities that they do.
We are so happy with Country Day Nurseries. Our little one absolutely loves it. The days are jam-packed with really exciting and fun activities. My daughter is currently in Big Acorns and I feel that they are preparing her wonderfully for school in the near future. She is learning how to be social, how to read and count, how to be independent - but most importantly how to enjoy herself and have fun. She always talks highly of the adults in the room - and our experience with the adults who work there has been fab too. I love their outdoor space and the fact that they get the children outside every day. I have been really impressed with the number of extra opportunities for parents and families to come and visit and get involved. I have already started the process of enrolling my second child even though it's a little way off yet. Highly recommend!
We have been in 3 classes at Country Day and the activities in all have been fun, and interactive my daughter likes to recreate these at home. She learns a lot at nursery and often surprises me with a new developmental skill she's learnt over the week. In summer the children seem to go out at least once a week to other playgrounds and to see the ducks. Not to mention the all-year-round outside areas they use daily. I would 100% recommend this nursery.
We find the staff friendly and supportive, the nursery manager is excellent at addressing any queries or issues and the children have access to very good provisions.
The nursery brings people in to deliver phonics, PE, and music and they have French lessons. My children love attending and love the staff.
Most definitely worth a visit!
My daughter absolutely loves going which I think speaks volumes! I've been impressed with Country Day throughout. When we first visited we loved the setting with woodland for the children to explore and found the team very friendly. On my first day of dropping my daughter off, the staff gave me a little goodie bag with some chocolate and tissues, demonstrating their empathetic approach to the children in their care and their families. The nursery runs events during the year which give families a chance to experience the nursery environment as well as parents' evenings. The leader of my daughter's room is knowledgeable and experienced. She regularly offers observations on development and ways that we can support her at home. My daughter is thrilled to see the staff each morning which sets my mind at ease and I would have no hesitation recommending Country Day Nurseries to others. A weekly newsletter from the manager is a nice touch too.
When viewing, we were impressed with the nursery - the outside space is amazing and the setting is beautiful. Unfortunately, I had to take my son out of Country Day after just 6 weeks. We had two incidents including my son being bitten (no one was aware how and when) and a forceable nappy change. During a Stay and Play session, I witnessed some staff being very negative towards the children. Resources in the room were broken or pieces missing and the room was not set up well for the children to play or extend their learning, e.g the role play area was cornered off, writing resources not available for children to select. The manager is great and she really helped my son to settle well, however, I could not ignore what I had seen and did not want my son in such a negative environment.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we take pride in taking on board constructive criticism. After our telephone conversation, we had already addressed the points, you had raised. We are saddened that you didn't make us aware of these points at the time which would have given us...
I can not talk more highly of Country Day Nurseries. My daughter has been going full-time since 11 months, is now 24 months and I can honestly say she has loved every single day. The staff are so caring, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They ensure the children spend adequate time outdoors, in the garden and exploring the woods. Sustainability and environment awareness are high on the agenda and the staff are always accommodating to specific needs. I feel my daughter's development has come on leaps and bounds, both in signing, speech and comprehension. The staff keep us updated with pictures, news and a detailed handover at the end of the day. A fantastic team and nursery overall.
As hard as it can be to leave your child with someone else whilst you are at at work, I have full confidence in the staff caring for my daughter whilst I am away and I know she is well looked after. She is well-fed with a variety of healthy meals/snacks, has numerous activities that offer her challenge and fun during the day and she gets a good amount of fresh air and exercise, playing outside, having PE lessons and exploring the woodland area. Staff are approachable and happy to offer support and advice when needed.
My son has been at Country Day Nursery for just over a year. He started when he had turned two and had never been away from me for more than an hour or so. It took a couple of days to settle him in and after that, he was always happy to go. The staff are always really friendly and go out of their way to help my son feel content. He is really sporty so they bought him a cricket bat to play with in the playground. He is also quite a fussy eater and when I asked the staff, they were more than happy to sit with him and offer encouragement to finish off his lunch. These small things make such a difference as a parent and I would heartily recommend this nursery to anyone. They are always outside playing, which I love, and I can tell my little boy is very happy there.
My daughter has been attending the nursery since she was 7-months-old as a snowdrop and she is now a little acorn at almost 3 years, it is incredible to see how much she has grown and developed over the last two years. The woodland setting is just incredible but for us, without a doubt, the best feature is the amazing staff, they are always friendly, attentive and caring and my daughter absolutely loves her days there.
I’m so happy with my choice to send my daughter to Country Day Nurseries, she’s a really reserved child but I’ve really seen her come out of herself and become more confident among her peers and other adults during her two years at the nursery. The staff take genuine, personal interest in the children and my daughter has formed strong bonds with her key people. It’s small enough that all staff seem to know all of the children, regardless of which area they work in, which is lovely and reassuring in terms of safety. I’m always confident that she’s well looked out for and the range of play and development activities manage to keep a hectic toddler well entertained! I also like the emphasis on outdoor time, whatever the weather. She really enjoys her time there and comes out beaming every day and is excited to tell me what she’s been doing. I won’t hesitate to send my youngest baby there when I go back to work.
Prior to Country Day Nurseries, I had moved my child from another nursery to a childminder; neither setting worked for us for different reasons - we had heard good things about Country Day (Penton Mewsey) and decided to give it a go. We are very pleased with our child's progress at Country Day, the staff are caring and helpful - very approachable with anything that needs to be discussed. Communication is excellent via management and my daughter loves it. My boys attended shortly until I gave up work and I'm pleased they will be returning in 2023. I would highly recommend this nursery.
We have been really impressed with Country Day Nurseries. For starters, the staff are really approachable and build up a lovely rapport with the children, developing the children's skills in a fun and playful way. Secondly, the setting is fantastic. Each room contains a variety of resources appropriate to the children's ages. The outdoor space includes woodland as well as more traditional playground space and a great covered area for the babies. Our child talks a lot about outside play at nursery. The management and communication are excellent which is great for parents. The meals are healthy and our child really enjoys them. Our child took some time to settle in as a baby but I always felt reassured by the staff and despite the disruption caused by Covid, she has been thriving at nursery for over two years.
My son has been full-time at this wonderful nursery since he was 6-months-old. He is so at home here and it is reassuring to me that our friends have accepted our recommendations and have their children here too. There is a wealth of opportunity for childcare, but this nursery is head-and-shoulders above the majority. It is also a testament to the company as a business that staff turnover is low.
I have also recently settled my baby into the snowdrops room and I’ve been really impressed by their flexibility and willingness to replicate his home routines at nursery. I’m always relieved to be able to hand him over to such competent, responsible and hard-working people.
In short, Country Day is fantastic and they enable me to be fully present at work knowing my children are well taken care of.
