Finkley Down Farm Nursery & Preschool is a unique childcare facility in the heart of Andover. Located adjacent to the award-winning Finkley Down Farm attraction, the setting provides exceptional childcare and outdoor opportunities for the children to discover.

They provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children aged 3 months - 5 years, which enables the children to learn through play, explore and be curious.

The provision's partnership with Finkley Down Farm allows for a rich, hands-on learning experience in which both formal and informal education can flourish.

Their children will be active learners, given opportunities to experience the world through their senses, physical involvement and active play in a way that is unique to the area.

Our little boy absolutely loves Finkley Down Farm Nursery, he runs through the door every morning eager to see his key worker and start playing. All the staff are great at keeping us updated on the day-to-day as well as development stages. We wouldn't want him to be at any other nursery.

My daughter adores Finkley Nursery; there is a wide range of activities inside the nursery, as well as access to the farm and soft play. There are frequent opportunities for parents to be invited in to engage with the nursery’s activities, such as sports day, Mother’s Day etc. We will miss the nursery
when she goes to school in September.

We absolutely love Finkley Down Farm Nursery & Pre-school Andover, the experiences the children get are fantastic. Not only do they have an amazing preschool itself. They have the yurt, soft play, farm and go out on regular bus trips to various local spots. The key worker system they use is brilliant,
your child spends most of their time with their key worker and their key group. Meaning they have such close bonds with the staff and children. We wouldn’t choose anywhere else, and if we have another child we absolutely know where we will be sending them. Couldn’t recommend enough!

My child absolutely loves Finkley Down Farm Nursery. He has made lovely friends and had the best experiences there. All of the staff are phenomenal and are happy to help and go above and beyond. There is a fantastic key worker who is always so happy to help or chat when needed. Really cannot say enough

I don’t usually write reviews if I’m honest, but this nursery deserves one! My daughter has been going just over a year now and I honestly can’t fault them. I fell in love with the nursery the first time we viewed it and met all the lovely friendly staff. Their outdoor areas are incredible and not only
do they have such a fantastic outdoor garden, but they also now have a yurt! And on top of that, they visit the farm and see the animals every week - which is my daughter’s favourite thing to do in the world. How educational and lucky we are to have our child taught animals and farm life in person rather than by a book on screen! The staff are above and beyond friendly, the manager is so hands-on and knows all the children even though she has to do the day-to-day running of the place. If we have another child, there will be no doubt they will be going here. Thank you so much to everyone at Finkley Down Farm Nursery.

My daughter has just finished attending Finkley after 2 years there. I cannot recommend the nursery enough, and could talk about the support they offer all day. But briefly, the variety of activities put on are well thought through and are both educational and fun. All the staff are supportive and caring
and easy to approach to talk to and the setting has the additional bonus of being able to visit the farm daily. If you are thinking of this setting for your little one I would highly recommend you visit and seeing it for yourself, it is amazing and we were happy with our choice.

My daughter struggled a bit at her previous nursery, so we decided to move her over to Finkley. It was the best decision, even though school runs are a lot longer now. She loves this setting and the staff. Her key worker is a great credit to the nursery. Thank you all for your great caring and hard

My son started Finkley Nursery this year, since he has started, he has come on leaps and bounds!
The ladies have been very supportive and understanding, which makes me feel at ease when my son is in their care. They have great communication whether that is via phone, email or the app. The app is great,
as I can see all the exciting things my son has been doing during the time he is there. They also keep me updated with a daily food diary, as my son is very particular with food, and this has also really helped.
Overall, I think Finkley is a great nursery with different weekly themes and lots of fun-packed activities. I highly recommend it!

I would just like to say how amazing Finkley Nursery has been for both of my daughters. Both have really benefitted from being in such a supportive and diverse setting. The range of activities and learning opportunities is vast and I believe has really helped to develop my children and ready them for
school. I honestly wouldn't send my children anywhere else. The outdoorsy ethos is something we really support and we love how much time our daughter spends doing outdoor activities. The yurt is also super awesome! We couldn't thank you all enough for everything you have done for our children. It is always so evident how important their wellbeing is to the nursery staff. What more could any parent want?

Honestly, I cannot praise Finkley Down Farm Nursery enough. We are incredibly happy with the care our son receives. I was so excited when we got the email to say our son had a place to start there as I always wished for our child to go there even before they existed - heard amazing things. It has not
disappointed us at all! The communication is outstanding, they tell you face to face how the day has been and what they got up to and eaten etc, but you also get updated (with pictures too) at the end of every day on an app. Questions are always answered very quickly. Our son only said 3/4 words when started (2 and a half) and required extra support he has come on leaps and bounds and at 3 years old now, he's a real chatterbox! The help with potty training also was brilliant! The facilities are great. The amount of activities planned daily look brilliant so much thought and effort. The farm being right next door and being able to go so regularly is lovely! Trips out too! The staff are lovely.

I was invited to the stay-and-play session last Friday afternoon and received a very warm and friendly welcome from the team. The room had been set up ready with all the activities and looked absolutely fantastic, it must have taken the staff ages. My grandson and granddaughter were so proud to show
me around all the different areas and we soon got stuck in playing with all the toys. The storybook session was also lovely, especially with the magical fairy lights overhead. I look forward to the next stay-and-play session.

Our son joined the nursery in September and the staff went out of their way to help him to settle and find out his interests. We get detailed face-to-face feedback daily and we have really appreciated the nursery's support in helping with life skills, such as toilet training. Our son loves attending
and as a parent that is key. This is down to the hard work of the staff who plan exciting and engaging activities. Recently they have asked the children to vote for the theme for the following week, which we think is a fantastic idea. The children have the opportunity to play and learn outdoors and regularly attend a farm. Trips there are also well-planned and carefully thought out. The nursery communicates so effectively with us and we get regular observations and wow moments about our child. The staff are really so warm and welcoming and have been so flexible with us as a family, allowing us to pick up extra days when we have needed. We would highly recommend this setting to others!

Finkley Down Farm Nursery & Pre-school is an amazing setting for the nursery and my son absolutely loves attending. A wonderful team, we are lucky and happy because our children can have an education with a lot of patience and dedication from the whole team. My granddaughter is going to be leaving soon to go to school and the nursery have given her the best start possible. Our son loves going to Finkley Down Farm Nursery. The staff are fantastic. Our son requires additional support for his speech and language. Since he has been going to Finkley, this has improved dramatically. It is completely reassuring when dropping him off in the mornings, as he has a brilliant relationship
with his key worker. It is great to see the variety of activities he is doing as this is shared via a parental app. Finkley is a great preschool for children to make friends, participate in an assortment of activities and general child development. I could not recommend Finkley highly enough.

Charlie is the Nursery Manager of Finkley Down Farm Nursery & Preschool and has been working here since March 2020. Charlie has a degree in Children's Development and Learning and is Level 6 Qualified.


We asked Charlie what her favourite part about working with children is and she said;


"I love seeing how confident and curious the children are and how they are able to extend their own learning with the support of their peers and adults. I always feel so proud seeing such happy children at the nursery throughout the day".

Alex joined the Finkley family at the beginning of the year and has been a fantastic addition to our team. She oversees everything happening within the baby room along with our daily lead, ensuring that each day is filled with care, learning, and lots of cuddles.

Laura-Jane Coleman

Laura-Jane started working at Finkley Nursery in September 2022. She has a Level 6 Qualification and has lots of experience working with different-aged children!


We asked Laura-Jane what her favourite part about working with children is and she said;


"Watching the children grow and develop through all the different activities and opportunities which are given to them. From climbing trees and getting messy in the sand."

Jen Russell

Hello, my name is Jennifer Russell, or you can call me Jen. Some of the children fondly call me Jen Jen!


I am the Deputy Manager here at the farm, and I have worked in the Finkley family since we opened in September 2017!


I have worked in early years for 18 years, and I pride myself on working closely with both the children and you, the parents/carers.


I have a Level 5 qualification as well as extended learning in portage and special education needs in early years.

Susie Jackman

Job Title: Preschool Daily Lead Joined: 2024

Susie has worked for Finkley Down Farm Nursery since January 2024 and is currently our Preschool Daily Lead.


Susie is currently completing her Level 5 Qualification!

Carmen

Carmen Skelton

Job Title: Baby Room Daily Lead Joined: 2025

Carmen has worked for Finkley Down Farm Nursery since November 2025, when our baby room first opened!


She started as a baby room practitioner, but within the year, has stepped up and was promoted to become the Daily Lead.

Chloe

Chloe Parker

Job Title: Nursery Practitioner Joined: 2017

Chloe started with us in September 2017, when we first opened and is a Level 3 Qualified Practitioner.


We asked Chloe what her favourite thing about working with children is and she said;
"I love watching the children develop and seeing how much they change from the time they first start with us to when they leave. I also enjoy watching the children become their own person with their own personalities and characters”.

Danielle

Danielle Wall

Job Title: SENCO Manager Joined: 2021

Dani is our SENCo Manager and supports all of our Finkley Nurseries in meeting the needs of all children within our care, Danielle joined the Finkley family in March 2021. Dani is currently working towards her degree in Special Education Needs and Inclusivity.


We asked Dani what her favourite part about working with children is and she said;


"I love seeing the impact that both myself and our wonderful staff have on the children and their future outcomes. I love to get involved and enjoy running both Bucket time and BLAST sessions within all of our settings."
