Finkley Down Farm Nursery & Preschool is a unique childcare facility in the heart of Andover. Located adjacent to the award-winning Finkley Down Farm attraction, the setting provides exceptional childcare and outdoor opportunities for the children to discover.

They provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children aged 3 months - 5 years, which enables the children to learn through play, explore and be curious.

The provision's partnership with Finkley Down Farm allows for a rich, hands-on learning experience in which both formal and informal education can flourish.

The nursery provides a nurturing and safe environment for my child. During his time at the nursery, he has met and exceeded all of his expected milestones. The range of engaging activities that he takes part in on a daily basis ensures that learning is always fun for him.

Finkley Nursery is so wonderful. The care and compassion they have for the children's wellbeing are outstanding. My niece absolutely loves attending Finkley and hates going home at the end of the day. For the children to have the outdoor area to learn and play and being next to the farm where they
can learn about all the animals is truly amazing for the children's development and caring nature. All the staff who work here and care for the children, cannot do enough for these children and work tirelessly and effortlessly to ensure their individual needs are met while ensuring their safety and health are looked after at all times. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

I was recently invited along to join my niece for a little gathering for Valentines day. We had the loveliest time together. The nursery staff had put together some sweet little activities for all of the children to do with their grown ups. It was so nice to be welcomed into my nieces daily environment
and to see the great opportunities the children get to experience.

My son started recently at Finkley Nursery in the baby room and we have had nothing but a great experience! He absolutely loves going to nursery and has come on leaps and bounds with his development. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, giving detailed updates about his day during hand
over. I love seeing my son in all areas of the setting from climbing around the soft play, exploring the farm and engaged in the sensory room.

Over the past month, my child has been attending Finkley Down Farm Nursery. I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the very first day, the staff have been welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating a nurturing, home from home environment for the children with the added bonus
of a farm! Every day brings exciting opportunities for little ones. They have the most amazing balance between education and play. The activities are thoughtfully planned.


The staff go above and beyond to communicate with parents, providing regular updates and photos of the day's activities. It's clear they take the time to truly understand each child's individual needs and strengths. If you're looking for a nursery that, encourages exploration, choices and builds strong foundations for early learning then I highly recommend Finkley Down Farm Nursery.

Amazing nursery - five-star. My son started at Finkley Down Farm Nursery & Pre-school only a few months ago and has settled instantly - he loves it! This is, without question, down to the amazing staff who genuinely care and love their job. He has formed amazing bonds with the staff already, in particular
his key workers who have invested in learning about my son and indulging his interests. He runs into nursery in the morning, eager to see his friends and have fun. The setting itself is seriously impressive - no wonder he enjoys it so much. Communication is excellent from the nursery with daily updates and photos. As a parent, I could not be happier to have secured him this start in life. Thanks team Finkley.

I cannot recommend Finkley Down Farm Nursery highly enough! First of all - what other nursery do you know that has a farm, a soft play, and all these amazing facilities every day? I wish every child had access to an experience like this.


The staff are incredibly kind, caring, and dedicated - it's

clear that they are happy and satisfied with their jobs and are well looked after. With other nurseries having a high turnover of staff, Finkley has a team that stays with them for years - that says it all. My daughter adores her key worker who has gone above and beyond to really personalise her experience and support her journey.


The communication with parents is also outstanding. We get a comprehensive handover each day, along with photos uploaded on the app so we can see what our little one has been up to. They highly deserve their Ofsted Outstanding rating. Our daughter is very happy here and we would highly recommend it to anyone as the best nursery in the area.

We have had our son attend Finkley Nursery for the past year and only have amazing things to say about this setting. My son joined in September 2023 and is now leaving a confident, independent happy boy ready for school a year later. This is completely down to the lovely staff and his amazing key worker.
The facility itself is always immaculately clean, serves nutritious yummy food which my son really enjoys, the activities are always well thought out and stimulating and the weekly themes are an amazing touch as he's always excited for the week ahead! A huge benefit and selling point of this nursery is that they are able to use the farm/soft play, throughout the day which my son has enjoyed so much! What other nursery can offer this on a day-to-day basis (sometimes twice a day!) the staff, setting and everything is 10/10 highly recommended. Thank you Finkley we will miss you so much!

Finkley Nursery has been a huge part of our children's lives with both attending from 2 years old right up until they started school. We would not have sent out children anywhere else. Finkley is a safe, nourishing and exciting setting which creates learning opportunities every day. The quality and
variety of educational activities are huge and learning opportunities are endless. Having the farm so close to the nursery is great and provides a unique childcare setting which really helps the children to develop key early years skills. Plus, it's great fun and who wouldn't want to visit animals every day? The care the staff show towards the children is second to none. It's not just about the children's physical wellbeing but their emotional and mental wellbeing too. Finkley provides support to everyone who needs it, and we especially like the experience bags they have to help explain difficult life situations such as a poorly family member. Thank you Finkley for being so amazing!

My daughter has been attending Finkley Nursery for over a year now, the staff are just amazing. My youngest daughter will also be attending the nursery which I'm super happy about. As a family, we couldn't fault the nursery or any member of staff. The communication and compassion is every parent's dream.
My daughter left nursery the other day and said 'I had a really nice time at nursery'. The app is such a lovely touch to any parent wanting that update or photo of their child. My daughter also loves looking through nursery pictures, so it's an added bonus. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff there. Always so accommodating, professional and caring. Charlie is the Nursery Manager of Finkley Down Farm Nursery & Preschool and has been working here since March 2020. Charlie has a degree in Children's Development and Learning and is Level 6 Qualified.


We asked Charlie what her favourite part about working with children is and she said;


"I love seeing how confident and curious the children are and how they are able to extend their own learning with the support of their peers and adults. I always feel so proud seeing such happy children at the nursery throughout the day".

Hello, my name is Jennifer Russell, or you can call me Jen. Some of the children fondly call me Jen Jen!


I am the Deputy Manager here at the farm, and I have worked in the Finkley family since we opened in September 2017!


I have worked in early years for 18 years, and I pride myself on working closely with both the children and you, the parents/carers.


I have a Level 5 qualification as well as extended learning in portage and special education needs in early years.
