Children 1st Birstall Nursery School provides loving care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old and is judged to be 'Good' by Ofsted (February 2021).

The nursery is located just off Loughborough Road, making it easily accessible for local parents and those who commute to work. The nursery became part of Children 1st Day Nurseries in 2017 and since then has undergone a wide-ranging indoor and outdoor refurbishment programme to bring it up to the same high standards of the other nurseries run by Children 1st. The children love the setting's secure, enclosed outdoor play area which provides the opportunity for them to explore nature and develop physically. The nursery's well-trained staff know the children very well and share their high expectations to help them develop independence and self-care skills in a safe and secure environment.

The nursery also has a separate, well equipped baby suite, where the youngest children can explore and develop with children of a similar age.

Birstall welcomes close liaison with families so that everyone can work together to support the child’s well-being. The staff aim to create a warm and welcoming ethos which ensures children are happy, safe and secure.

Children 1st @ Birstall have been an amazing nursery to our daughter. She joined the nursery when she was only 1 year old all the way to now where she is about to start primary school. All the staff at the nursery seem very friendly and make the child and parents feel very welcome. Our daughter loves
her nursery days. The management staff have been so helpful. Their style and promptness of handling queries/replying to emails etc. really suits a busy mum like me! I highly recommend Children 1st @ Birstall to others. Thank you to all the staff for ongoing hard work and help with my little one's early years journey.

My daughter has attended Children's 1st @ Birstall Day Nursery since she was 13 months old. She has loved every single second of it and is just starting her journey into big school as the youngest in the year but thanks to all the incredible staff I feel that she is more than ready and capable to take
on that journey. My son also attends this nursery and was a very shy boy with severe attachment issues (thanks lockdown) but has currently been there for around four months and has massively come out of his shell and is becoming a very independent and confident child! I would always recommend Childrens 1st to anyone I speak to!

My child attended Children 1st @ Birstall Day Nursery since he was 9 months old. It’s such a lovely nursery; welcoming and clean. He was well looked after and cared for by the staff. The staff engaged with him and always had fun and interactive activities set up for the day. If ever there was a problem
or query, the management team were willing to help and responded promptly. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending the nursery to other parents.

I love this nursery! The staff are really kind and friendly, you can see they really care about the children! Both my children settled in well and that’s due to the team there and the great facilities! They are really helpful when I have worries or questions. They have helped me swap days in emergencies!
I am a key worker therefore my kids had to keep attending during the pandemic and don’t know how I would have got through this time without them! Thank you for everything you do for me and my children!

My daughter started in April 2021 and has loved it. I am satisfied when I drop her off because she happily goes in without any issues. My daughter has developed so much in confidence around other kids and adults. Staff are lovely and approachable. I get clear feedback of how my daughter’s day has been.
The menu is good and encourages the children to experience varied food textures.

My girls have just left this nursery and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff there. My girls have loved every minute and built such strong bonds with the staff in the rooms. The early years room has been brilliant in building confidence in my eldest ready for school and the baby and
bobtails room have been fantastic for my youngest, who mostly goes in without looking back. They come out happy and you can just tell they've had a great day. The management staff are always really responsive to any requests or queries and I myself have been able to build great relationships with the staff and management.
It's going to be hard to find a new nursery for my youngest that can compare to this one, I only wish we had found a new home closer so we could stay.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Children 1st Birstall, specifically the manager and staff for supporting us as a family and supporting our child. To start, we moved back towards the end of 2019 and the manager happily welcomed us back and my child was very happy and settled back in nicely.
Than last year I was diagnosed with a rare type of breast cancer and through out my treatment and on going condition, the staff at the nursery really supported us in looking after and supporting our child. I really don’t have more words, we really thank you and appreciate your support, from the bottom of our hearts. What a fantastic job you all are doing and not forgetting the pandemic and how supportive you all have been. Once again, thank you very much and I would definitely recommend this nursery. We see so many good changes in our son, so thank you very much for all the efforts. Please continue and keep up with what you are doing so fantastically, all the best for the future.

My daughter started in September 2020, the staff and management have been brilliant at helping her to settle into nursery during such strange times. The setting is amazing and secure. When we pick our daughter up, we are always told about her day and although we can't enter the nursery at the moment,
it is still clear to see the staff have formed a great bond with my daughter. We receive regular photos of our daughter's progress and the activities that she does. I would highly recommend Children 1st at Birstall to anyone.

Great nursery. We moved our son because he wasn't settling in his old nursery. Within weeks he would walk through the door and wave me goodbye. When I pick him up he tells me he had a good day. That's fantastic for a 2-year old that has a limited vocabulary. He always walks out with a smile.

are amazing, always happy to help and great with a smile. I would definitely recommend the nursery to friends and family.

Fantastic Nursery! All the staff and management are great. The nursery has been brilliant for our Son and we have really seen him develop during his time here. A really interactive and forward thinking nursery where they really have the childs best interest at heart and really want to see the children

The staff at this nursery are wonderful. They are always in good spirits when I drop off and pick up my children. They listen and act on discussions that I’ve had about my children’s care and most of all my children are happy in their environment. Would highly recommend!

What an amazing nursery, we did our research for the best nursery in Leicestershire, reviews, staff, location etc and Childrens 1st Birstall was our number one choice. We were over the moon to know we could send our children there.
All the staff are amazing, and our kids absolutely love all of them,
from the management, teachers, cleaners and chefs. Our kids love going to nursery and their development improves weekly. We are so happy that our little ones are in an amazing place whilst we have to work and we have so much respect for all the staff. They work so hard but make it look easy, they are amazing.

This nursery has been amazing for us. Our children have thoroughly enjoyed going to Children 1st.

After a lot of research and consultation, we eventually chose this as our preferred nursery. Thankfully it is not a decision we have regretted. Staff were very reassuring during the first few days when our son struggled to adjust to the new settings. After the settling in period, his caseworkers remain
supportive. This in turn has helped our son gain more confidence. The daily reports are detailed as are key highlights of the day. Most of all, it's knowing that we can ring anytime for an update whilst also being able to discuss any concerns.

I have sent both of my children to Children 1st @ Birstall since they were 10/11 months old and it was one of the best parenting decisions I have made. Not only are the nursery facilities fantastic but the pricing is competitive and the staff care for the children as if they were their own. Our kids
have developed so well physically and mentally and look forward to nursery every day they go in. The team are always so accommodating and do everything they can to make nursery the children's 2nd home.

Love the new refurb and car park floor, great job, feels more safe and secure. All the staff are friendly and my son enjoys his time at nursery and we find that our son is learning good and bad habits but that's kids. The nursery app is another good attribute to understand what he is doing and learning.

This is a great nursery for any child, my little boy loves it here and comes back happy from his days here. The staff are all lovely and my little boy can't speak more highly about them. There are a few things that could be improved, for example, they eat the same food every week, some more variety
would be nice. They have also invoked a new rule where children have to keep their shoes on in their rooms, to encourage indoor and outdoor play. This wouldn't be a problem in summer, however, in winter the kid's shoes are dirty and muddy, causing the carpet to be filthy. Considering that the kids usually play on the carpet all day, it's not very hygienic. I am all for outdoor play but I think there should be a rule, that it's below 5 degrees the kids should not be forced outside. Often when I pick my son up he is outside, even when everything is wet as its been raining earlier in the day and his hands are freezing cold.
