Children 1st Birstall Nursery School provides loving care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old and is judged to be 'Good' by Ofsted (February 2021).

The nursery is located just off Loughborough Road, making it easily accessible for local parents and those who commute to work. The nursery became part of Children 1st Day Nurseries in 2017 and since then has undergone a wide-ranging indoor and outdoor refurbishment programme to bring it up to the same high standards of the other nurseries run by Children 1st. The children love the setting's secure, enclosed outdoor play area which provides the opportunity for them to explore nature and develop physically. The nursery's well-trained staff know the children very well and share their high expectations to help them develop independence and self-care skills in a safe and secure environment.

The nursery also has a separate, well equipped baby suite, where the youngest children can explore and develop with children of a similar age.

Birstall welcomes close liaison with families so that everyone can work together to support the child’s well-being. The staff aim to create a warm and welcoming ethos which ensures children are happy, safe and secure.

We are really happy with Children 1st at Birstall. My daughter started in the baby room at 11 months and is now just about to 'graduate' to go to school in September. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the children have lots of interesting activities to do and high quality toys. The facilities
are really good with a nice outdoor space. The management team are also visible, friendly and helpful. Genuinely recommended.

My daughter loves the staff!
Before when I came to drop off my daughter she cried a lot but now she's used to the staff and now I give my daughter to a particular staff member and she just stops crying and happily goes with her.
All of your staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming!

My two-and-a-half-year-old daughter has been going here since she was age one and I love this nursery and the staff are brilliant. Whenever there is an issue the management team always get it resolved. The staff are friendly and my daughter is very happy. The facilities are clean and my daughter is
learning a lot and has developed so much. The staff give her cuddles and the standards are high. I also love the app to check up on her. The outside space is lovely too. The staff and the management team make it what it is.

Children's 1st Nursery is exceptional! Carers and staff are warm, knowledgeable and dedicated. They are very accommodating to our child's needs; this includes dietary requirements as we are a vegan family. Our child has formed strong bonds with each carer as she's progressed from room to room. The nursery
is clean and has well-maintained facilities. Our child receives excellent care and is part of their family. Highly recommend!

From the very first meeting, I felt completely comfortable leaving my child in the care of this nursery.
All the staff and so friendly and helpful and take excellent care of my child and his dietary requirements.
My child is very settled and loves coming to nursery.

All the staff are really helpful and competent.
The staff are very efficient, helpful and understanding.
My second child is attending this nursery, previously my older son was in the same nursery and I'm so glad that I have chosen this branch to send my children to.
My child absolutely loves going
to nursery and this says a lot to me that she's in the best environment where she loves to be with caring staff and her friends.

The staff at Children 1st @ Birstall are extremely nurturing and have a really close bond with both of my children that attend the nursery. My daughter, who is in the early years, is always playing nursery at home and pretends to be the staff that support her daily! They are true positive role models
for her. I know that my children are well looked after and that means so much when they spend so much time there! All staff know them by name and take time to talk to them when they see us in the corridor or climbing the stairs! A wonderful team! Thank you for all you do!

Lovely, caring staff. My son has settled in very well at nursery from the beginning, even when transitioning between the different rooms. My son enjoys going to nursery which makes it easier for me as a parent knowing he is having a good time there. The nursery also carries out many different activities
providing the kids with an opportunity to do many different things. The food provided at the nursery is also varied allowing my son to try different foods. So far I have had a good experience with the nursery and would recommend it to other parents.

This is a great nursery with lovely staff that look after your children really well. It is nice and clean and the different rooms allow the children to grow and develop. The staff assist with the development of the children's individual needs such as toilet training.

My daughter loves Children 1st @ Birstall branch, from her key workers to the cleaner, and managers, everyone is just so lovely and my daughter looks forward to going in every day. She constantly surprises me with things she has learnt and having been going there since she was 1, and now in her final
year before starting school, I know sending her here has improved her confidence, writing, social skills and love of learning and has made her ready for school, I can't thank the nursery enough. Saying goodbye in the summer will break my daughters heart but her experiences and memories there I know will stay with her and us for a very long time

An absolute brilliant nursery. They are warm, welcoming and always have the children's best interest at heart. They treat all children as individuals and are especially patient with Senco kids. They helped arrange additional funding for my little boy to take him through to primary school. The setting

My daughter has been attending this nursery for over a year now. She is constantly learning and developing which I can see from her language, emotional and physical behaviour when she returns from nursery days. Regularly she surprises me with her vocabulary and I ask my husband if he has taught her
that new word to which he says no. I know that this is down to the great teaching of the nursery staff!
I know she is in safe hands at Children’s 1st Day Nursery. There is a wide variety of activities indoors and outdoors. The food menu is diverse and nutritious. Location is great. I would highly recommend this nursery.

An outstanding nursery which continuously exceeds their efforts in supporting my little girl. Her performance in academic achievement is a result of the nursery's input, the nursery thrives in communication and always keep us up to date with achievements, calendar days and through their newsletters.
The manager has always been so understanding and supportive with queries and all staff give a detailed breakdown of all my child has participated in throughout her day at nursery.
I’m so pleased with the nursery and their continued approach to fulfil all of my child’s needs. Thank you Children1st @ Birstall Day Nursery!

The staff at Children 1st @ Birstall Day Nursery are just wonderful. They show warmth, care and compassion to the children and are extremely professional in their everyday approach.
I was very nervous about my baby starting a nursery but I would recommend Children 1st to anyone! He has a lovely bond

Our daughter has been at Children’s 1st (Birstall) Day Nursery for three years. From the first day in the baby room to now in early years, we have always felt she’s in safe hands and comes home happy.
We can see growth and learning each week. The teachers are polite, approachable and provide updates
as necessary via the app or at the end of day.
The management are great particularly when it comes to questions all parents would have, reminders and updates. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who has a little one!

My little boy started Children's 1st @ Birstall Day Nursery in November just before he turned 3. He had been with childminders previous to this. But I can honestly say he has come on leaps and bounds in the short time he has been attending! All the staff are truly amazing, so kind, caring and professional.
He eats so well there too, always having seconds, which he never does at home.
I wish I had sent him to this nursery sooner.

My child has attended Children 1st @ Birstall Day Nursery since 9 months - 2018.
We cannot fault this nursery. The staff are fabulous always happy, professional and caring. The staff, especially the manager, are so approachable, it is so clean and modern. Over the years I have built a great relationship
with all the staff and my son is always happy to go, he sees it as home from home. The food is brilliant, the menus are always changing so my son gets to try a variety of food. My son loves his nursery he learns so much, so we will be sad once he starts school. My second born will also be attending next year, there is honestly no comparison to other nurseries; Children 1st in our opinion is the best, it’s absolutely outstanding.
We would highly recommend.
