Set within a stunning Victorian property in the peaceful Barbourne area, Shooting Stars Nursery & Preschool, Worcester offers a warm and inspiring environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. The nursery’s location provides easy access to major transport links, making it ideal for commuting families.

The nursery is arranged into five age-specific rooms, each carefully designed with premium Community Play furnishings and a rich selection of educational resources. As children grow, their learning spaces evolve to introduce more structure, helping them transition smoothly and confidently toward school readiness.

The teaching approach blends child-led exploration with adult-guided learning, ensuring full coverage of the EYFS framework. This balanced method encourages independence, creativity, and curiosity while supporting children through key developmental stages.

To help parents stay connected and reassured, the nursery offers ParentCam—a secure CCTV system that provides live access to their child’s day. The nursery app complements this by sharing daily updates, photos, and insights, fostering strong communication and a collaborative relationship between home and nursery.

Outdoor play is a cherished part of the daily routine. Shooting Stars Worcester features separate garden areas for under twos and over twos, as well as a woodland forest garden that promotes imaginative play, sensory exploration, and a love of nature.
All meals are freshly prepared on-site, with a varied and nutritious menu designed to support healthy eating habits and overall wellbeing from an early age.

The staff really do a great job at looking after my son, as they did with my daughter. They have both thrived, and I always feel relaxed knowing that he will be cared for, have fun and learn. I am very grateful to the staff for creating such a lovely nurturing environment.

Having recently moved to the area, with experience of only one other nursery provision, I can say that Shooting Stars at Worcester have exceeded our expectations in every way. All staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable, even if they're not responsible for your child's room. Management is excellent
and always helpful. The site itself is lovely, with amazing outdoor spaces that my son loves. The staff in his room are fantastic - so kind, caring and fun! He loves going there and has developed great friendships and relationships with the staff there already. It's an excellent nursery, and I would highly recommend it.

Shooting Stars Nursery (Worcester) is a fabulous place filled with staff that care, lovely facilities and a wonderful group of children. My son started in Feb 2020 when he was 15 months old and is now 4.5 years old and in the preschool group. He's learnt so much and the staff have had such a lovely,
positive influence on him. I only have good things to say, we will miss it very much when the time comes to leave for school in September.
Reply from Hollie Higgins, Marketing at Shooting Stars Nurseries at WorcesterThank you so much for leaving such a glowing review for our staff team and facilities here at Shooting Stars. It's great that your little one has continued to play and learn so happily here throughout his time at Shooting Stars. We will miss all of our Preschoolers very much, but we're confident that they are excited and equipped to take the next steps in their early years journey to school in September. Many thanks

Our children have attended since September 2022 and they love going to preschool. They adore the staff there and love all the activities, especially the forest school area. They are shown how to develop their independence and learn how to do things themselves, which makes them and us really proud. Staff
are always super friendly and kind and we are so pleased that we chose Shooting Stars!
Also, the food choices are great!

Amazing nursery, so bright and clean with a beautiful outdoor space in a lovely quiet area. My son has been attending since he was a year old, gradually increasing days and hours and thanks to their help, I'm confident he is ready for school in September.
They were incredible during the lockdowns and
have gone from strength to strength ever since, so I would highly recommend them. Such an enthusiastic and fun-loving bunch, we will be sad to leave.

My two-year-old son has been attending for a year now, and thoroughly enjoys it. The staff are friendly, confident, skilled and supportive. We benefit hugely from the full days - 8 am to 6 pm - including school holidays which for working parents is essential.
My son has made lots of friends, his speech
and language have improved, he has formed lovely relationships with staff members, and the overall development he has made in all areas since attending has been amazing.
I have an older child (she attends school now) with complex needs and disabilities, and from my observations, the nursery seems inclusive, person-centred and needs-led, which is so refreshing for children with SEN.
I really can’t recommend Shooting Stars Nurseries at Worcester enough!

Shooting Stars is fantastic with our little boy. We were a little nervous as he had only been with the two of us prior to starting, but we could not be happier with how well the whole team welcomed him and us. Everyone is so lovely and professional. Our little boy has settled in fantastically, is always
happy to go in and even wants to stay and play when it’s pick up time! There is a large selection of toys and activities that are alternated, activities are clearly planned and a lot of love is put into what they do. The pre-toddler team are amazing, caring and exactly the kind of people you want to leave your child with. Thank you so much to two particular members of staff; you are so wonderful. The toddler room is fantastic too - lots to climb and explore. They are very thorough when working with children who have allergies, which alleviated a lot of my worries. My husband and I would recommend them to anyone. Such a brilliant setting; we’re so pleased he is here. Thanks, everyone.

Starting nursery in lockdown and being left for the first time with effectively a stranger, my son struggled to say goodbye, but the staff have always been really kind, caring and patient with him, ensuring he went straight to his favoured toy or activity, which really helped him get used to the new
experience. 15-months later, my son now sometimes asks if he’s going to nursery on weekends and also doesn’t want to leave! All the staff are amazing and really look out for his interests and activities to help him develop. I’m so grateful to have a safe, loving environment for him to grow in whilst I’m at work.

My daughter loves going here and has so much fun. As a lockdown baby, she struggled to start with being around new people and children, but with the support, kindness, patience, and love of the staff, she’s come out of her shell and become such a confident little girl. My daughter loves nursery and
I am so happy with the care they provide. Thank you to all the staff there.

My son has been going to Shooting Stars since February 2020, and we have always had such a wonderful experience. They were really fantastic throughout the whole pandemic and have always been great with communication giving my son the most 'normal' experience possible.
The staff have always gone above
and beyond. I am really grateful to so many individuals for the care they give him. He's always so happy and has such a great community of little friends. The structure has meant he'll keep these friends as he heads into pre-school, which I am pleased about. My son is sugar-free, and they always make sure he doesn't miss out, the food is really excellent.
There seems to be a lot of thought that goes into the way the nursery is run - it's organised, but still fun, they learn but it isn't overly 'school' like - they play all day and just seem to have the best time. All the children seem so happy, I couldn't recommend it enough.

Since moving to Worcester in August last year, we could not be happier with the childcare provided by Shooting Stars. Both my children settled there so quickly, formed really strong bonds and just love every day they spend there. I mostly put that down to the incredible people who work there, but also
the beautiful and engaging environment. The food they eat is varied and healthy and I am so grateful for that as it is one weight off my mind.
The leadership and management are also excelled and brilliant at communicating. Thanks for all you do.

My little boy started at the Shooting Stars Nursery Worcester at the age of 2.5. He is now 4 and the next few months will be his last ones at the Nursery, he will be going to school in September. He attended the toddler class and now the pre-school. I cannot thank enough all of the staff for taking
great care of him. We follow a respectful parenting style at home and Shooting Stars Nursery provides a very similar - respectful, kind, caring & child-led environment. The pre-school team staff are very creative, they do go the extra mile to produce fun & educational play areas. And they are all so friendly to speak to. The gentle, caring manners can be felt throughout the Nursery. From the management all the way to the kitchen staff. I must mention their fantastic garden & forest school type area, too. Just love that space! As a first time mum, having the CCTV option was also very reassuring - to be able to see my son while he is there. I highly recommend this lovely Nursery.

Our first daughter has attended Shooting Stars for a year and a half, and we have always been very happy with how well she has been cared for. She is always keen to go to nursery and is clearly very happy there - this has always been the case, whichever room she has been in and whoever has been looking
after her, as the whole team has the same positive attitude. Our second daughter started this month, and our experience has been equally positive. The settling in sessions have been really positive, and the team in the baby room are incredibly reassuring and knowledgeable. We trust Shooting Stars to look after our children, and we can see how well they are developing in the setting. We recommend Shooting Stars to anyone without any hesitation.

We love Shooting Stars Barbourne! My little boy has been going here since he was one and started in the first wave of the pandemic. As a first time mum, you always worried about leaving your baby, but I can honestly say sending him here has made it so easy for us both. He has always been so excited
for nursery days and doesn’t even wave us goodbye. The children spend lots of time learning outside, which is something that was important to us, and I am sure that it is because of the love and dedication of all the staff here that my little one is thriving. Every member of staff we have ever dealt with have been wonderful and supportive to us as a family, and are well-loved by my little one. The building is wonderful and clean, and the children are given so many opportunities to learn in an age-appropriate way. We could not be happier!
Reply from Hollie Higgins, Marketing at Shooting Stars Nurseries at WorcesterThank you so much for your kind review and for taking the time to leave feedback. We can’t praise Shooting Stars Worcester highly enough. When I drop my daughter off first thing, she doesn’t even look back at me as she runs through the pre-toddler’s door! She has a packed day of learning through play, and the progress she has made is excellent.
The team are always warm and friendly
to us as parents, and our daughter clearly adores all the staff. They know all her quirks and qualities, demonstrating she’s valued as an individual by the team.
Our daughter was very poorly last year, ending up in hospital on a ventilator. The team sent us several messages, and the pre-toddler room sent her cards and messages of support. We were overwhelmed. It was very difficult for us to send her back to nursery after this scare, but once again, the staff surpassed expectations making her return safe, considerate and reassuring us as parents.
A wonderful environment where children are seen as individuals and nurtured to become the best versions of themselves they can be.
Reply from Hollie Higgins, Marketing at Shooting Stars Nurseries at WorcesterThank you so much for sharing your feedback, our staff team will be delighted to read your kind words. We are really thrilled with the standard of care our daughter receives at nursery. The staff are consistently professional, friendly and helpful. My daughter is in the baby room, and the members of staff within this room are phenomenal and always smiling, happy to chat about my daughter’s day and provide
helpful advice. As a parent, leaving your child will always seem scary, but when you find the right nursery, you know that your child is in great hands, and you know that they will have a wonderful day. Whenever I drop my daughter off or pick her up, she is smiling and playing happily. I would thoroughly recommend this nursery.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 number of registered child places is 18.2. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.2 = 0.714
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Tracy

Tracy Hedges

Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2011

I joined Shooting Stars in 2011 when we had just one nursery setting. I was originally employed in the role of Deputy Manager at our Stourbridge Nursery, then in 2013 I began the role of Nursery Manager, moving into the role of Area Manager in 2015. I’ve worked in Early Years for 28 years.

Prior to joining Shooting Stars, as well as working in a range of practitioner roles, leadership roles, and senior leadership roles within day nursery settings, I have worked as part of a specialist support team with children who were paralysed through spinal cord injury, and I began my career as a nanny. It is safe to say I have been part of the team at Shooting Stars long enough now that it is as much a part of me as I am a part of it!

I am really passionate about creating magical childhoods that grow excited, curious children and provide the best foundations for successful lives. I have a keen interest in well-being and believe that securing high levels of emotional well-being for children in our care underpins their capacity to thrive in all other ways. After lots of years being a practitioner creating secure and emotionally enabling environments for children first-hand, I now love nothing more than supporting the understanding and development of this throughout our teams, ensuring it is fostered deeply in our culture.

Kully Dhillon

Job Title: Strategic Development Manager Joined: 2014

Kully began her journey with Shooting Stars Nurseries in September 2014 as the Nursery Manager of the newly opened Wolverhampton setting. In 2022, she progressed into a strategic role, joining the Area Management Team as a Strategic Development Manager.

Her career in childcare began as a Level 2 Apprentice, followed by the completion of her Level 3 qualification. Since 2004, Kully has held a variety of leadership roles, including Room Leader in both Pre-School and Under 2’s, Deputy Manager, and Nursery Manager—spending 16 of those years in management. These experiences have shaped her deep understanding of early years education and operational leadership.

Kully is particularly passionate about the development of children under two, with a strong focus on building secure attachments and nurturing environments that support emotional well-being and early development. She also brings extensive expertise in Health & Safety, SEND, and Safeguarding, which are central to her practice and leadership.

A key focus of Kully’s role is supporting the growth of the early years workforce. She is committed to empowering staff through continuous professional development, helping them build confidence and fulfilment in their roles. Wellbeing is at the heart of her approach—she strives to foster a positive, supportive workplace for teams and a safe, inspiring space for children.

At Shooting Stars Nurseries, Kully plays a vital role in welcoming new team members through New Employee Workshops and mentoring apprentices throughout their training journey, helping shape the next generation of early years professionals.

Outside of work, Kully enjoys spending quality time with her family and attending football matches as a proud supporter of her local club. She also loves exploring new cities, dining out, and meeting new people.
