Set within a stunning Victorian property in the peaceful Barbourne area, Shooting Stars Nursery & Preschool, Worcester offers a warm and inspiring environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. The nursery’s location provides easy access to major transport links, making it ideal for commuting families.

The nursery is arranged into five age-specific rooms, each carefully designed with premium Community Play furnishings and a rich selection of educational resources. As children grow, their learning spaces evolve to introduce more structure, helping them transition smoothly and confidently toward school readiness.

The teaching approach blends child-led exploration with adult-guided learning, ensuring full coverage of the EYFS framework. This balanced method encourages independence, creativity, and curiosity while supporting children through key developmental stages.

To help parents stay connected and reassured, the nursery offers ParentCam—a secure CCTV system that provides live access to their child’s day. The nursery app complements this by sharing daily updates, photos, and insights, fostering strong communication and a collaborative relationship between home and nursery.

Outdoor play is a cherished part of the daily routine. Shooting Stars Worcester features separate garden areas for under twos and over twos, as well as a woodland forest garden that promotes imaginative play, sensory exploration, and a love of nature.
All meals are freshly prepared on-site, with a varied and nutritious menu designed to support healthy eating habits and overall wellbeing from an early age.

If you are looking for a daycare that truly cares about child development, this is it. The facility has an excellent setup-clean, engaging, and well-organized. My son is 3 and has been flourishing here. It's been wonderful to watch him hit new milestones and grow more confident every day. It gives us
such peace of mind knowing he's in such a supportive environment.

My son has been finding it hard to settle, the staff at nursery have been amazing at helping him settle, he is now doing longer days and is starting to enjoy his day at nursery. The staff make you feel at ease and are very informative on how your child has been for the day. I love seeing how his week
has been through pictures that are sent on the app staff to use to share information.
The nursery is big with a lovely outdoor space.
Reply from Hollie Higgins, Marketing at Shooting Stars Nurseries at WorcesterThank you so much for sharing this. We know that settling can take time for some children, and it's wonderful to hear how far your little one has come. The team will be so pleased to know their care and consistency have helped him feel more comfortable and confident, and that he's now managing longer days and beginning to enjoy his time with us.
We're really glad you feel at ease and well-informed - communication is so important, and the staff work hard to make sure you always know how his day has been. It's lovely to hear how much you enjoy the photos and updates on the app too.
Our spacious nursery and outdoor area are such special parts of the setting, and we're delighted he's starting to explore and settle into everything it offers. Thank you for your kind words and for trusting us with his care.

My little boy has started here this year and we honestly could not be happier with our choice of Nursery! As first time parents, finding a nursery right for you is not the easiest process. We both have intense careers too so it was really important that we found the right place to be worry free whilst
at work!

The staff have been nothing but wonderful ! My little boy has been in the baby room for a few months now and he is thriving! The staff are so friendly, caring and helpful offering advice when needed. We have a lovely amount of updates which provide us with reassurance throughout the day! I was worried about sending my little boy for four days a week but in actual fact, it was the best thing we've done as he just absolutely loves it! I can't recommend the nursery enough and I am so thankful that we chose shooting stars as our nursery.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. All my child's needs are cared for and communicated well and daily diaries are always uploaded regularly. I'm always shown what my child's doing on observations. He enjoys the garden space and is able to explore it every day and getting messy in all the sensory play.

Our 21-month-old daughter joined in June 2023. She’s virtually full-time at the nursery and is absolutely thriving thanks to the excellent care and facilities at the nursery. Her eating skills, speech and physical development are coming on leaps and bounds.
The staff are so attentive, caring and focused
on the children’s development. Key carers are identified for each child and meet with parents regularly to discuss each child’s development. Regular updates on your child’s day and pictures of their activities are shared regularly on the parent app.
A varied and balanced menu is offered for the children and has helped us avoid having a fussy eater (so far!). The outdoor area is a real highlight - the kids look so happy out there each day learning and playing.
We toured a few nurseries in Worcester and this one felt like the best fit. Nine months in, and we’re absolutely sure we’ve made the right choice for our child’s nursery care.

From day one to now, when our incredible son is being moved up to the Toddler room - Shooting Stars has been absolutely amazing! This is always a nervous time for children and parents, but everyone at Shooting Stars is just in a league of their own and makes everything just so much better all-round.
The attention to detail, the love and care provided, the development and assistance, the cleanliness and facilities, and the quality of time there for all children are sensational. We can't recommend this place highly enough, and we can't thank Shooting Stars enough for all they do. We are so appreciative, and Shooting Stars deserve all the credit possible. I’m a very happy father. My 2-year-old has been with the nursery for a year and she has gone from strength to strength since starting. Over the past month, she’s been able to describe her days at nursery and we get to enjoy seeing her smile as she reflects on her busy days.
The staff have consistently
been supportive and communicative and my daughter knows staff by name. The updates we get sent are always helpful and handovers at pick-up times are really clear.
We are excited about what’s to come.
The happy Father's and Mother’s Day treats are a great touch! Nom nom!

Our son has thrived under the care of the team in the pre-toddler room and I was nervous for his transition into toddler 1. But the team have ensured he has continued to thrive and enjoy his time at nursery. It is also wonderful that the lady has been able to support him from the baby room all the way
through to toddler 1. We are really grateful for her care for our son.
I also wanted to express our thanks and appreciation to the lady in toddler 1. She spent at least 10 minutes with my Mum on the day she picked our son up. She showed her around the room, the view into the garden and spent time discussing what he had done with great detail. It meant a lot to my Mum, and to us! Thank you all for everything you all do to support our son and our family.

Our son has been at Shooting Stars Worcester for the past two years, and our daughter "graduated" last summer after spending three great years there. The care for both of them has been absolutely fantastic throughout their time there, and we simply can't recommend this nursery highly enough.
All of
the staff and management are genuinely friendly and caring and really go beyond expectations to fill the days with lots of varying activities and different ways to play. The staff also really focus on the individual needs of every child. We have recently discovered that our son has a food intolerance, and they couldn't have been more helpful in accommodating for that.
The facilities are superb too, each room is clean and inviting with a great range of things to do, and they also have an amazing outdoor area, which is continually being improved with several lovely different zones.
Big thanks to everyone at Shooting Stars Worcester for making our children's time there so wonderful.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.507) out of 10 for Shooting Stars Nurseries at Worcester is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.968 for Shooting Stars Nurseries at Worcester is calculated as follows: ( (151 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.968
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.539 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Shooting Stars Nurseries at Worcester is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 number of registered child places is 18.2. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.2 = 0.714
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Tracy

Tracy Hedges

Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2011

I joined Shooting Stars in 2011 when we had just one nursery setting. I was originally employed in the role of Deputy Manager at our Stourbridge Nursery, then in 2013 I began the role of Nursery Manager, moving into the role of Area Manager in 2015. I’ve worked in Early Years for 28 years.

Prior to joining Shooting Stars, as well as working in a range of practitioner roles, leadership roles, and senior leadership roles within day nursery settings, I have worked as part of a specialist support team with children who were paralysed through spinal cord injury, and I began my career as a nanny. It is safe to say I have been part of the team at Shooting Stars long enough now that it is as much a part of me as I am a part of it!

I am really passionate about creating magical childhoods that grow excited, curious children and provide the best foundations for successful lives. I have a keen interest in well-being and believe that securing high levels of emotional well-being for children in our care underpins their capacity to thrive in all other ways. After lots of years being a practitioner creating secure and emotionally enabling environments for children first-hand, I now love nothing more than supporting the understanding and development of this throughout our teams, ensuring it is fostered deeply in our culture.

Kully

Kully Dhillon

Job Title: Strategic Development Manager Joined: 2014

Kully began her journey with Shooting Stars Nurseries in September 2014 as the Nursery Manager of the newly opened Wolverhampton setting. In 2022, she progressed into a strategic role, joining the Area Management Team as a Strategic Development Manager.

Her career in childcare began as a Level 2 Apprentice, followed by the completion of her Level 3 qualification. Since 2004, Kully has held a variety of leadership roles, including Room Leader in both Pre-School and Under 2’s, Deputy Manager, and Nursery Manager—spending 16 of those years in management. These experiences have shaped her deep understanding of early years education and operational leadership.

Kully is particularly passionate about the development of children under two, with a strong focus on building secure attachments and nurturing environments that support emotional well-being and early development. She also brings extensive expertise in Health & Safety, SEND, and Safeguarding, which are central to her practice and leadership.

A key focus of Kully’s role is supporting the growth of the early years workforce. She is committed to empowering staff through continuous professional development, helping them build confidence and fulfilment in their roles. Wellbeing is at the heart of her approach—she strives to foster a positive, supportive workplace for teams and a safe, inspiring space for children.

At Shooting Stars Nurseries, Kully plays a vital role in welcoming new team members through New Employee Workshops and mentoring apprentices throughout their training journey, helping shape the next generation of early years professionals.

Outside of work, Kully enjoys spending quality time with her family and attending football matches as a proud supporter of her local club. She also loves exploring new cities, dining out, and meeting new people.
