My Daughter is in the Pre School room and every day is a hive
The Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager are fantastic. They will go out of their way to always help, offer advice and listen. Every day we are greeted with a warm smile and we really feel part of the family. That to me is so important and so special because I know we always have an open door and a friendly face waiting for us at nursery.

Emma joined Shooting Stars in January 2025. Emma brought over 24 years of experience in childcare and early years education to her role. Starting her career as a practitioner, Emma has progressed through various leadership roles, including Deputy Manager and Supporting Manager, and has spent the past 12 years successfully managing several nursery settings.
As a mum to an 11-year-old daughter, Emma understands the high expectations parents have when choosing childcare. Her personal and professional experiences shape her vision for delivering high-quality care and early learning. Emma is passionate about creating a happy, relaxed, and stimulating environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.
Emma is committed to working closely with families and her team to ensure every child receives the care and education they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
I joined Shooting Stars in 2011 when we had just one nursery setting. I was originally employed in the role of Deputy Manager at our Stourbridge Nursery, then in 2013 I began the role of Nursery Manager, moving into the role of Area Manager in 2015. I’ve worked in Early Years for 28 years.
Prior to joining Shooting Stars, as well as working in a range of practitioner roles, leadership roles, and senior leadership roles within day nursery settings, I have worked as part of a specialist support team with children who were paralysed through spinal cord injury, and I began my career as a nanny. It is safe to say I have been part of the team at Shooting Stars long enough now that it is as much a part of me as I am a part of it!
I am really passionate about creating magical childhoods that grow excited, curious children and provide the best foundations for successful lives. I have a keen interest in well-being and believe that securing high levels of emotional well-being for children in our care underpins their capacity to thrive in all other ways. After lots of years being a practitioner creating secure and emotionally enabling environments for children first-hand, I now love nothing more than supporting the understanding and development of this throughout our teams, ensuring it is fostered deeply in our culture.
Kully began her journey with Shooting Stars Nurseries in September 2014 as the Nursery Manager of the newly opened Wolverhampton setting. In 2022, she progressed into a strategic role, joining the Area Management Team as a Strategic Development Manager.
Her career in childcare began as a Level 2 Apprentice, followed by the completion of her Level 3 qualification. Since 2004, Kully has held a variety of leadership roles, including Room Leader in both Pre-School and Under 2’s, Deputy Manager, and Nursery Manager—spending 16 of those years in management. These experiences have shaped her deep understanding of early years education and operational leadership.
Kully is particularly passionate about the development of children under two, with a strong focus on building secure attachments and nurturing environments that support emotional well-being and early development. She also brings extensive expertise in Health & Safety, SEND, and Safeguarding, which are central to her practice and leadership.
A key focus of Kully’s role is supporting the growth of the early years workforce. She is committed to empowering staff through continuous professional development, helping them build confidence and fulfilment in their roles. Wellbeing is at the heart of her approach—she strives to foster a positive, supportive workplace for teams and a safe, inspiring space for children.
At Shooting Stars Nurseries, Kully plays a vital role in welcoming new team members through New Employee Workshops and mentoring apprentices throughout their training journey, helping shape the next generation of early years professionals.
Outside of work, Kully enjoys spending quality time with her family and attending football matches as a proud supporter of her local club. She also loves exploring new cities, dining out, and meeting new people.
