Finkley Weeke Nursery are huge believers in learning through hands-on experiences and play. Not only do children have access to the excellent facilities at the nursery, but they also visit local attractions regularly, such as Finkley Down Farm, Winnall Moors, local woods and parks to extend their learning through fun and practical activities.

The fun does not stop there! Back at the setting, the children's curiosity determines how the nursery is created every day. The setting is fortunate to have a huge amount of green outdoor space, which features its very own mud kitchen, sensory pathway, messy play, bug hotel and parking garage for the young motorists. There is a range of options for children to choose from indoors too, such as making crafts, cooking, playing, reading and building.

The ethos at Finkley Weeke is ‘Happy Children, Happy Parents, Happy Staff’, which creates the foundations of their nursery.

    Early Club 7:30am – 8 am is £5 per session, payable in advance via the parent area.

  • We are approved providers of Hampshire County Council’s free early year’s educational grant for 2, 3 and 4-year olds. This funding is available for all children from the term after their third birthday regardless of family circumstances. We will supply you with all the required information and parent declaration forms for you to complete, as your child reaches the appropriate age.

We moved to Winchester in January 2021 and my two children, age two and four started at Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School in February. They settled in incredibly quickly and absolutely love it, they even ask to go there at weekends! The staff are fantastic and the children love all the activities
they do and the exciting trips they go on. We're delighted with our choice of nursery and would recommend Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School to anyone.

My son absolutely loves going to nursery and this gives me peace of mind. He started in January and I can already see so many positive changes in him. He is so much more independent and confident. I love the fact that he enjoys learning and the nursery is great at exploring new things. The most satisfying
feeling is when I pick him up from nursery and he can't wait to tell me all about the wonderful things he did during the day. Great nursery all round and the staff are fantastic too.

I absolutely love Finkley Down Farm Nursery. I looked at numerous nurseries for my son but nothing compares to Finkley. My son had never been left with anyone other than family so starting nursery was a massive thing for both of us. The staff have been incredible from the very beginning and it’s clear
that they are passionate about what they do. My son hasn’t been going for long but he absolutely loves it. He goes in with a massive smile on his face and doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day. That’s when you know you’ve chosen the best nursery around. Best decision we’ve ever made.

My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed starting at Finkley Down Farm Nursery, every day she is excited to go and full of smiles when I pick her up.
Since having spent a lot of time at home due to COVID my daughter settled in at nursery very very quickly and this is due to the staff. They are really welcoming
and give off a positive vibe, always smiling and polite.
Trips to the farm are very popular with Finkley which my daughter absolutely loves! She is always coming home telling me about her day and how much fun she has had.
I would definitely recommend Finkley Down Farm nursery!

Both our children have thrived at Finkley Down Farm Nursery. They both went to the nursery's other setting and then moved to Winchester.
The staff are all great - there's an energy and positivity about the place that shines through and the kids all seem so happy to be there. The facilities are excellent,
especially the outdoor space - at both nurseries. The access to Finkley Down Farm is just brilliant - our two-year-old boy comes home so excited from spending time with the animals. And the whole place is run so professionally, with great dialogue with parents. The new Winchester setting is a great addition. The same ethos has transferred naturally and the trips to the farm maintain that unique benefit. I can't recommend it highly enough - we have experienced a number of nurseries and this is the best by a mile.

This is the fifth nursery my children have attended (we've moved house lots!), and it is the best by miles. The facilities are brilliant, the staff are great, and I'm constantly impressed by the range of activities. Our children love their nursery days, and we all wholeheartedly recommend it!

Such a wonderful nursery. Our son absolutely loves it. The fact the children get to visit the farm each day is amazing. The Finkley Down Farm Basecamp is also a lovely setting and the staff are fantastic.

My child started at Finkley Down Farm Nursery Winchester at the beginning of September and we just love it! The children get to go and explore the farm every day and do things like groom the pony, feed the guinea pigs, etc and it is just fantastic. It is such a rich and unique learning environment and
my little one has been coming home talking about it non-stop, she even wants to go on the weekends! We live in Winchester and it is just brilliant still having the opportunity for her to visit the farm every day and explore! It brings such a variety to her learning and her confidence is soaring. Plus they have a great set up at the Basecamp with a huge outdoor area too! What more could you want!

Vanessa is one of the Nursery Managers at Finkley Weeke.


She has 10 years of experience working in the early years sector and has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education.


Vanessa's favourite thing at Finkley is providing the children with an exciting learning environment, offering them a variety of experiences such as trips to the Farm and Nature Walks. Seeing the children so happy and having fun while supporting them in their journey to school.

Maria has been at the nursery with us since March 2022 and is level 3 qualified! Maria has lots of experience working with children and also loves animals!
Maria's favourite thing about working at Finkley is "being able to offer the children the amazing experiences such as going to the farm, the pumpkin patch and providing them with fantastic learning experiences!"

Job Title: Baby Room-Daily Lead Joined: 2022

Sara started working at Finkley Weeke in September 2022.


In April 2025, Sara opened our brand new baby room and became the Daily Lead. Sara has experience supporting the under-2s' development and is keen to create a nurturing and engaging environment for them to explore!


Sara loves Finkley because no day is ever the same, and loves the variety of outings the nursery can do, from pumpkin picking to the garden centre, every day is unique!

Job Title: Pre-School Daily Lead Joined: 2023

Ellie is one of our fabulous team members and joined the Finkley Family in March 2023. She is level 3 qualified and has a passion for planning exciting, engaging and unique activities for the children to take part in.


In 2025, Ellie was promoted to Daily Lead of the Pre-School room and leads the team to ensure the children are offered a wide range of experiences and promote independence to help the transition to school!

Danielle

Danielle Wall

Job Title: SENCO Manager Joined: 2021

Dani is our SENCo Manager and supports all of our Finkley Nurseries in meeting the needs of all children within our care, Danielle joined the Finkley family in March 2021. Dani is currently working towards her degree in Special Education Needs and Inclusivity.


We asked Dani what her favourite part about working with children is and she said;


"I love seeing the impact that both myself and our wonderful staff have on the children and their future outcomes. I love to get involved and enjoy running both Bucket time and BLAST sessions within all of our settings."

Emma is our Deputy Manager at Finkley Weeke. She has been working in nurseries for many years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge after completing her degree in Early Years Education. Emma loves working at Finkley because everyday is a new adventure and she loves seeing the children grow and develop under our care!
