Finkley Weeke Nursery are huge believers in learning through hands-on experiences and play. Not only do children have access to the excellent facilities at the nursery, but they also visit local attractions regularly, such as Finkley Down Farm, Winnall Moors, local woods and parks to extend their learning through fun and practical activities.

The fun does not stop there! Back at the setting, the children's curiosity determines how the nursery is created every day. The setting is fortunate to have a huge amount of green outdoor space, which features its very own mud kitchen, sensory pathway, messy play, bug hotel and parking garage for the young motorists. There is a range of options for children to choose from indoors too, such as making crafts, cooking, playing, reading and building.

The ethos at Finkley Weeke is ‘Happy Children, Happy Parents, Happy Staff’, which creates the foundations of their nursery.

  • We are approved providers of Hampshire County Council’s free early year’s educational grant for 2, 3 and 4-year olds. This funding is available for all children from the term after their third birthday regardless of family circumstances. We will supply you with all the required information and parent declaration forms for you to complete, as your child reaches the appropriate age.

Our son joined this nursery a few months ago and has really enjoyed it. He gets lots of time playing outside and goes on fantastic regular field trips including Finkley Farm. The nursery team are brilliant and treat him like a superstar. Couldn't ask for more!

Our daughter has attended since September and settled in straight away. We have been incredibly impressed with the daily communication and organisation of Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School and are very grateful for the wonderful staff.
Our daughter often speaks about what she has enjoyed and the
other children she plays with. The daily photos are evidence of the lovely provision the children are able to explore.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

Absolutely amazing nursery. My daughter's gross and fine motor skills have progressed significantly since starting here and her speech has progressed. My granddaughter has been attending Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School since last year and absolutely loves it. The staff are always welcoming and enthusiastic. The children have a wide range of activities and she particularly loves going out on visits to the farm and the care home. She’s always eager
to go in on play school days and the communication with parents is excellent, I know my daughter loves seeing the photos of what she’s been up to. I feel that her transition to school in September will be easier because of her happy time there. Now I look forward to seeing how my grandson thrives there when he starts in October!

My daughter has only been at Finkley Weeke Nursery since April, but it feels like she has been going for a lot longer as she absolutely loves it, and we have been welcomed as part of their little family.
We love the stay-and-play sessions; it is so nice to see what the children do, get involved with
their activities and meet other parents and have a chat. They are always so much fun!
Finkley Weeke provides such a nurturing environment and enriching experiences for the children they care for. My daughter really enjoys the trips to the farm and going out and about, and absolutely loves taking part in the fitness classes. It is so nice to hear her tell me about her days out with enthusiasm and excitement.
I also think the trips to the nursing home are such a great opportunity for both young and old to connect. My daughter loves visiting.
I could not recommend this nursery enough.

My daughter started Finkley Weeke in September 2022. The nursery is so friendly with lots of different activities happening throughout the day. It is fantastic that the children get to go out and about on local visits and also have the opportunity to go to Finkley Down Farm as well. We get a daily update
with lots of pictures so we can see what the children have been doing. Thank you to all the staff for all their hard work and care for my daughter.

Our son started at Finkley Weeke Nursery and Pre-School last November when we moved to Winchester from London. We have been continually impressed with the experience he has had since starting due to the care and kindness of the staff and the wonderful opportunities that they provide each day. Communication
is always effective with daily observations and plenty of opportunities for parental involvement, such as the Mother’s Day coffee morning, Christmas show and the sparkler evening for Bonfire Night, which we have found particularly inclusive as a new family in the city. We have already signed our younger son up ready to start next year and would recommend the nursery to everyone. Thank you for all of your continued hard work!

After recently moving to the area we discovered this nursery and as soon as we had our walk around we knew this was the place we wanted to send our son. The staff have been amazing. They are all attentive, friendly and overall caring. Finkley Weeke Nursery really engages with the children and develop

My daughter started at Finkley Weeke after a few settling-in sessions in August 2022. I was so worried and full of mum guilt about moving her nurseries after being so settled, but due to a nursery closure, I had no choice. I am so thankful for all the staff making the transition so easy and being so
friendly and loving. The set-up and activities in the nursery are so well planned and really focus on the children's development areas. My daughter also loves going on the nursery bus to the farm! I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone within the area.

Vanessa is one of the Nursery Managers at Finkley Weeke.


She has 10 years of experience working in the early years sector and has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education.


Vanessa's favourite thing at Finkley is providing the children with an exciting learning environment, offering them a variety of experiences such as trips to the Farm and Nature Walks. Seeing the children so happy and having fun while supporting them in their journey to school.

Sara started working at Finkley Weeke in September 2022.


In April 2025, Sara opened our brand new baby room and became the Daily Lead. Sara has experience supporting the under-2s' development and is keen to create a nurturing and engaging environment for them to explore!


Sara loves Finkley because no day is ever the same, and loves the variety of outings the nursery can do, from pumpkin picking to the garden centre, every day is unique!

Dani is our SENCo Manager and supports all of our Finkley Nurseries in meeting the needs of all children within our care, Danielle joined the Finkley family in March 2021. Dani is currently working towards her degree in Special Education Needs and Inclusivity.


We asked Dani what her favourite part about working with children is and she said;


"I love seeing the impact that both myself and our wonderful staff have on the children and their future outcomes. I love to get involved and enjoy running both Bucket time and BLAST sessions within all of our settings."

Emma is our Deputy Manager at Finkley Weeke. She has been working in nurseries for many years and has a wealth of experience and knowledge after completing her degree in Early Years Education. Emma loves working at Finkley because everyday is a new adventure and she loves seeing the children grow and develop under our care!
