I can’t recommend Childres 1st @ Buckinghams nursery enough! The team are brilliant as is the nursery setting. My daughter loves it.

Fantastic nursery. My daughter always enjoys going and she has come on leaps and bounds since attending. All the staff are friendly and professional and caring, they all work really hard to provide for all the children. Can’t fault the nursery at all.

This nursery is great, the staff are wonderful and do a great job with my little boy. He has been going since last year and has come on wonderfully! I really like the EyLog system they now have installed as I can check my son's progression.

It’s a great nursery. I have tried others and this one is the only one that stood out to me. The staff are very friendly, the kids have a varied and balanced diet which I think is really important and my children have learnt an awful of a lot since attending this nursery. It’s brilliant! 5* rating!

All the ladies at Children 1st @Buckinghams have been excellent with my daughter who has been attending nursery there for just over a year now. My little girl loves attending and gets excited as soon as the car pulls into the drive and she realises where she is! It's huge peace of mind to know she is
happy and well cared for whilst I'm away at work all day.

My son loves attending nursery, but recently his baby brother has been in hospital which has obviously affected him. His key worker and the whole team have gone out of their way to make an extra special fuss of him, to ensure he has always been too occupied to worry about his brother. All the nursery
staff are great but I feel for us personally, they have shown an even deeper level of care to our whole family during December and January.

Both our children have attended Buckingham’s Nursery and our experience has always been a positive one. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the range of activities the children experience is fantastic. I am always so impressed with the staff and the effort they put in to make sure that the children
have a great start in their learning. Leaving your children at a setting is never easy but I have never been disappointed with the care and service. The EYLog has been great for us to keep up to date with what they have been doing and to read about our child’s journey.

My son attends this nursery 3 days a week and I would highly recommend, in fact, a work colleague is changing provider to this nursery based on my recommendation and having been on a tour. All the staff are approachable and I am confident I am leaving my son in the best care. They have been flexible
with me when I have requested an ad-hoc day and are happy to accommodate when they can. The building is lovely and the outside space is excellent. The meals provided are of a high standard and are varied week on week.
The daily diaries are fully completed so I know what my son has been doing throughout the day. A great nursery, the best in Leek.

My daughter has only just started at Buckinghams, and I will be honest, I can not fault the staff or the level of care my daughter receives.
This is the first time I have put any of my children in a nursery and I will admit I was a bit wary, due to the fact my daughter is very clingy and has only been
around myself or my husband all day every day since she was born.
We did have a few issues with my daughter crying and screaming at the beginning but with the help of the fabulous staff, she is getting better after each session.
When I go to collect my daughter in the evening, the staff always inform myself or my husband about what my daughter has eaten, what her day has been like and her last bottom change. She always comes out of nursery with a smile on her face and she is always very clean and tidy.
I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone who is after childcare.

I think the nursery is very good, a good friendly welcome, children like the carers a lot. Always ring to solve any problems/queries. Also, I find them very helpful if I have any problems. My kids enjoy going and I think my kids are learning and adapting to changes very well. Highly recommend this nursery
to anyone.

My child is perfectly happy when he attends Bucks Club before and after school sessions.
We are disappointed with the choices of food and drinks that are available only water for breakfast and two kinds of cereal or toast (no jams etc) The snacks are always the cheapest supermarket variety! Invoices
are not itemised. There is no flexibility if we want to change the requested sessions but we still have to pay.

Very welcoming, friendly nursery. Staff are lovely and helpful. Quick to update me on my son's progress. I know my son's in safe hands and he very much enjoys nursery. I will also be sending my girl soon too. Can't thank the staff enough for the great progress I've seen with my son.

My son attends the holiday club at Leek First School which is run by Children 1st. He totally loves his time there and looks forward to the school holidays and the time he spends with the carers and children there. They provide a varied range of activities and there is a variety of toys to suit all
ages and interests. The standard of care is second to none, I never have a worry leaving my son in their care.

Nicky Hardy

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 1992

Hello my name is Nicola Hardy I am the Manager @ Children 1st @ Buckinghamsl.


As well as working full time I am also a Mum of two Children Louis who is 13 and Molly who is 8 both of my children attended nursery from the age of Nine months old I feel this has been a great start for my children socially and intellectually.


I started my career in childcare 26 years ago and have experienced various roles working with all age groups within our nurseries.


A deputy position came up within the company this would potentially be a great move I was a successful applicant and I started my new position in October 2016.


I was given the opportunity to develop myself as a Manager. I have found this move a great experience
Since working with Children 1st I have been able to continue my training completing a NVQ Level Three in customer services.


During my time with children 1st I have become more confident and have developed skills in all aspects of my job role


I have a passion and am fully committed to providing high quality day care and education to all our children. And for caring for children and their families, ensuring that they are happy and settled whilst attending our setting.
