Happy Days Nursery & Preschool - Thornbury

Staff turnover is high, however, new members seem well informed and skilled. The nursery is very child led. Ultimately, our child is extremely happy and making great progress!

Happy Days Nursery is wonderful, the facilities are fantastic and staff are exceptional. They care so much about all the children and parents. I would highly recommend.

The staff are very friendly and professional. My child loves attending here. I particularly like the level of feedback I get from staff members about his day.

All the staff here are wonderful, they are friendly and welcoming and very caring. You are clearly informed of the cost so there are never any surprise charges. My little one has been to four different nurseries in three years and I can honestly say that Happy Days is the best one he has been too.

The children all love going to "school", you get a good breakdown of what your child has been doing throughout the day, you don't worry about leaving them as you know they are in good hands.

We couldn't be happier with Happy Days as our choice of nursery for our son.

The staff are always friendly and extremely helpful and the teachers are fantastic. Our son has developed so much in such a short space of time and he really looks forward to coming in to play with his friends and teachers.

The communication to parents is also first rate.

I would recommend Happy Days to anyone looking for a nursery in Thornbury. It really is excellent.

My youngest daughter has been attending since she was 7 months old. Staff and management are excellent - they are very caring and always take time to explain what she has been doing each day and are always polite and courteous.

Both of my children have settled in very well to Happy Days Thornbury, having started when it opened in January 2017. The staff are caring and attentive, and the facilities in the nursery are excellent. There is a large range of toys and activities and I feel that my children have been well supported to develop their own interests. The food provision is excellent and varied and the nursery is always clean and well-presented.

My only (minor) criticism is that it is Happy Days' group policy not to do outside trips for the children as they are not able to manage risk. I understand that this is outside the control of the individual nursery, but on days where there are less children and higher staff : child ratio, I would welcome the opportunity for older children to go outside the setting.

My son started at Happy Days 7 months ago, when he was 10 months old. As a first time mum I was a bit nervous about leaving him, but the team at Happy Days were really welcoming and helped him to settle really well. He loves nursery and it is great to see his big smile when he sees his keyworker and the other staff.

The nursery is well equipped and offers a variety of activities to help little ones learn and keep them entertained. The staff are all friendly and approachable, and very helpful whenever I have a query. My son has special dietary needs and the nursery has been very accommodating of this, so I feel reassured in leaving him in their care.

All in all, it is a lovely nursery!

Our Son has been attending Happy Days Thornbury since April 2017, we cannot recommend this nursery enough! He really enjoys attending and has thrived since starting here. He and I have such a positive attitude towards the nursery, he talks about the nursery, staff and his friends he has made there all the time. The nursery itself is brand new ( opening earlier this year) the space available is brilliant and the outdoor space is lovely with a sand pit which is a big hit with my son! The resources the nursery have are second to none and everything is brand new and really is lovely. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I know my son is in good hands. They really encourage his own independence and this has been shown by our son at home. It really is a wonderful nursery!

My husband and I looked at 4 local nurseries and chose Happy Days due to their ethos and their open plan floorplan. Children are able to choose the activities they want to do and when they want to do it alongside structured activities. Happy days offer a variety of food which is made on location and not bought in.

Our son settled in extremely well and quickly down to the settling in sessions offered and the staff having plenty of time to get to know him and his daily routine. He absolutely loves going which speaks volumes!

Would Definitely recommend Happy Days Thornbury!

We have always been extremely happy with the care and support our children receive at Happy Days Thornbury. My only criticism would be that some of the actual meals seem more like snacks than meals, so our daughter usually is hungry when she gets home, but I think this could also be down to burning lots of energy.

My daughter has been at nursery for just a couple weeks, and the difference in her is remarkable. She is walking, trying to talk, smiling and laughing even more, she's building blocks!

Excellent start, keep up the good work and she'll get a job soon explaining the meaning of exam grades to older kids

The ethos behind the Happy Days Nursery - Thornbury is second to none. It provides a calming environment where children are supported at all times and their independence is encouraged. Beautiful toys and a fantastic outdoor area ensure that learning through play can occur in a range of ways and staff adapt plans throughout the weeks to give all children opportunities to thrive. Our child settled with them incredibly quickly, and his key worker has a strong understanding of his needs.

Happy Days is a brand new nursery in Thornbury which has been really nicely kitted out. Everything is new and good quality so will clearly last for a long time. The sunken sandpit and outdoor toys are favourites of my son who loves the opportunity to get his all in one waterproof suit on and have a play outside.

My son has developed a wonderful bond with his key person who is always very enthusiastic and really listens to any requests and seems to genuinely care for the children she is looking after and responds to their individual likes and dislikes.

The management team have responded well to all my communication and requests and there is always a smiling face when I arrive at the nursery. All the staff are very friendly.

I am very pleased with my choice of sending my son to Happy Days and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.
