My son loves going to nursery. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic my son has struggled with not seeing family and friends. The nursery has provided some normality for him, allowing him to play with others in a safe environment. Happy Days Nursery & Preschool - Thornbury communicated with me throughout
the pandemic and the communication has been faultless. I have received regular email updates on activities that the children have taken part in and updates in policies for reporting Covid-19 symptoms. I can rest assure that my son is being well looked after in an environment he loves. Thank you to all staff! As an NHS worker, I am grateful for all you do to enable me to continue working.

Brilliant nursery which my daughter loves going to, she has settled in so well with the help of her key worker and during these difficult circumstances there have been no problems whatsoever. My son has been attending Happy Days for 6-months, and I could not be happier with the care he receives! The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, and no request is too much for them; they will do all they can to support you and your child. The activities and interactions they provide are age-appropriate,
stimulating and challenging; my son has made great strides in his development since joining the nursery. My son's key person has a warm and upbeat personality, and my son has a great relationship with her, he happily goes to her in the morning and takes his time coming back when I collect. Thanks guys for all your hard work!

My son started in August 2020, and it has been the best decision to send him to Happy Days. He settled very quickly, having been with a childminder, I wasn't sure how he would take to it. He formed a bond with one of the team initially, and that really helped.
All the staff in the room are engaging
when we do drop off and pick up, and my son speaks fondly of them. We get a daily sheet and monthly update pack, so we know what he is enjoying playing with/reading and his friends. He enjoys the range of activities and is really thriving since starting there. They have recently supported us with potty training and were flexible with how we wanted to do it, even providing a daily sheet.
I love that there is an onsite cook and that things are made fresh on the premises. The management team are very approachable, friendly and always make themselves available for questions, calls and are visible. I cannot say enough good things; we are so happy that our son is so well cared for and happy to go.

Happy Days have been fantastic with my youngest who really struggled to settle in nursery, moving rooms just after she turned two was traumatic for her but nursery were amazing with many settling sessions. COVID hit and we had a few months at home nursery we’re in regular contact with home learning.
Communication is excellent and despite not being able to currently go in the building the staff communication at the drop off and pick up are great. Well done Happy Days you’ve adapted to things brilliantly whilst still offering great care and learning opportunities.

Our son has attended Happy Days in Thornbury for 2 and a half years and has thrived. He is so happy going into nursery and has made some lovely friends for life. We had our older son and younger daughter attending another Happy Days setting in the past and were so pleased with their approach and the way they adapt it to each child. So, when we moved to Thornbury, we decided without hesitation to place our daughter in the local Happy Days Nursery. She absolutely
loved it! Never cried at drop-offs, even with mummy, never upset, on the contrary always enthusiastic of all the exciting activities they do every day and all the friends she has made. The environment is clean and spacious, lots of light in every room. The nursery personnel is so lovely, always positive and smiling. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

An extremely welcoming atmosphere, feel they make a real effort to get to know each child individually as well as parents. Informative sheet each day to let us know how our daughter's day has been. Always alot of fun activities and caring handover on drop off and pick up.

My son has been attending Happy Days since he was 11-months-old. It can be a worrying time for parents, but the whole team at Happy Days were so welcoming and put my mind at ease straight away. The level of care is exceptional, and my son comes home happy at the end of each day spent there. I can't
thank the team enough for how they have handled the difficult year with the pandemic - without letting the level of care slip. My son was understandably a bit unsettled returning to the nursery after a few months off during the lockdown, but the team went out of their way to ensure he was happy and confident in his return. He now skips into the nursery with a smile on his face. Communication with parents has also been outstanding. This was especially valuable this year with government guidelines changing so rapidly. I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a place for their child and feel very lucky to have had Happy Days a part of my son's weekly routine for the past 18-months.

Absolutely brilliant nursery, all staff are super friendly and my daughter always goes in and comes out with a smile on her face, she has also learnt so much since being there. Working in childcare myself, I was very picky when choosing a nursery for my child.
I can honestly say that in the two and a half years that my daughter has attended Happy Days, she has been looked after with the highest standard of care. She is valued and happy, and she continues to thrive in this
setting.
I cannot thank the staff enough for how they have adapted through the Covid pandemic and welcomed the children back with their usual smiling faces, giving the children a little bit of normality back. In my eyes and outstanding day nursery!

Beautiful little nursery. Staff are brilliant, children are well looked after, and reception staff are very quick and compliant at getting back to any queries. There is so much for the children to do, and they learn so much every day. The nursery is very clean and tidy, and the food is great!

Happy Days in Thornbury is fantastic!
The staff are friendly and welcoming, always showing an interest in the children and their families.
The two girls are a great management team and go out of their way to help with any issues, queries and questions.

We're so impressed with Happy Days Nursery and the whole team at Thornbury. They helped our son settle in brilliantly at the start of the year and were always reassuring and filled us with confidence as parents. The whole daily routine and provisions for the children are so well thought through, and
we love the fact it's a purpose-built facility making it perfect for little people to get around. The abundance of time spent outdoors is lovely.
We really feel for the team having to go through the challenges of lockdown, but we can't praise them enough with how they've dealt with everything and have welcomed us back with even more confidence. They've really excelled. We're so grateful to have such a brilliant team caring for our child. Thank you!

I have been really pleased with the nursery. It is the second setting that our child has attended and she settled really well thanks to the great care of the staff. The new manager and deputy are very approachable and have made a great difference to the atmosphere.
Staff turnover is high, however,
new members seem well informed and skilled. The nursery is very child led. Ultimately, our child is extremely happy and making great progress!

My name is Sammie, and I am the new manager of Happy Days Thornbury.


I have been working within the childcare sector for over 16 years 3 with years of management experience. I spent 2 years working in Dubai as a pre-school teacher where my early years knowledge grew even further.


Working in the early years has always been a huge passion of mine. Seeing the children flourish throughout their nursery experience and supporting families is something that brings me such joy in my career and I am excited to bring my experience, passion and love for childcare with me to Happy Days.
