Happy Days Nursery & Preschool - Thornbury

My son has been at Happy Days Thornbury for 2 years, he absolutely loves it. He is now in the preschool room and will be doing 4 days a week until school in September 2025. The staff have been amazing in supporting him with his extra needs. Like anywhere, there have been changes with the staff but honestly, the children are so happy. Drop-off and pick-up are always smooth, they also have an app where events are logged throughout the day. I would definitely recommend.

Happy Days Nursery in Thornbury is such a lovely place. My son has been doing settling sessions to get him ready for when he starts. They have been amazing and so helpful with helping him to settle in. I highly recommend Happy Days as it's a lovely environment and has a great bunch of staff.

He very much enjoys going to Happy Days and as a parent, I can go to work and feel reassured that he will have a great day.

My daughter started nursery in September she loves going to nursery, it has made her much more confident with other children and her speech has improved greatly. She feels a safe environment and a very friendly staff a consistently. They are always giving great feedback on my child and I’m happy that my daughter attends this nursery as did my older daughter who is now in primary school.

I currently have both of my children at Happy Days and they enjoy it. The nursery is extremely clean and the staff are very friendly. It has become extremely organised and just a nice atmosphere throughout. I’d highly recommend it.

Recently with the introduction of the app, the staff have gone out of their way to upload photos and videos for us to be able to get a peek into what our children are doing and learning when we're not there. The staff truly make the nursery a warm and engaging place and you can see they care, they go the extra mile without being asked- extra cuddles on an emotional drop-off day, or finding games the children will excel in and be excited to talk about. Thank you to all the Adventurers staff.

Great socialising with other parents of the setting, and a well laid out, clean and well-organised environment.

Since new local management took over during the last half of 2023, the running of this nursery has improved 100%. I have never seen so many positive changes take place over such a short space of time. The team are always happy and cheerful, making drop-off and collections a pleasure, and there is always consistency in the rooms so that the children feel secure. The food and menu are really varied and the children are always experiencing a range of activities. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery.

My son started nursery here at the end of February I was really worried as I hadn’t left him before, the staff in the rooms were really reassuring and made us both feel comfortable. I get regular updates throughout the day on the app which is really useful. The staff are really kind and make sure the children are well looked after.

Great nursery, excellent staff. A lovely atmosphere within the nursery. Our daughter loves being in the nursery and is showing signs of great development since starting in January at nearly 1 year old.

I’ve recently met with the new support manager, the new Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator of the setting and also the new manager of the Happy Days setting and I have come away feeling very reassured, the most reassured I’ve ever felt! Things are progressing very quickly and things are finally being put into place for my child, support manager, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and new manager have all spoken to me individually and I’ve felt so at ease and reassured and happy to leave my child in their care and as I said the most reassured I’ve ever felt. Pre-school staff are very patient and understanding of my child and his needs, always very good with communication from staff to parent and very welcoming upon arrival, I am overall very happy with the service.

Would not recommend the Thornbury branch of this nursery in its current state. Cannot fault the staff but management/head office do not seem to care enough to actually look after them (or care more about making money) and turnover is high as a result. Poor continuity of care for the children. Parents are being given short notice for reduced operational hours (2 days) and cancelled sessions. Places secured and paid for months in advance have been cancelled with little notice. Very poor communication with false information being spread to save reputation. Such a shame because the staff in the rooms, that have stayed there are working extremely hard and seem to getting the brunt frustrations.

Our son started at Happy Days when he was around 14 months old. We have been really pleased with the nursery and definitely recommend it. The team there work very hard to engage the children, make sure they're happy and involved in a wide range of activities. They also give really good feedback at the end of every day so we know what they've been doing, what they ate and when they slept. When our son was particularly sad at drop off one time a staff member sent an email soon after to show him happily playing so that I didn't worry which was thoughtful. I was also very impressed with our son's key person who gave us regular feedback on his development which was really nice to see. Thank you Happy Days!

Our son attended a nursery previously and we are so happy that we moved him. His key worker shows such warmth and understanding, especially as he can be quite sensitive. All of the team are friendly, helpful and will always go the extra mile. He eats better there than he does at home which speaks volumes! They handled the last year brilliantly and we are so grateful for everything they have done to keep everyone safe. They have supported us well with potty training and are flexible and patient. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!

My child is very happy there and is progressing very well. He is very comfortable with the staff which is lovely to see too. The staff are friendly to us as parents and can always reassure us when needed. Highly recommended.

We are absolutely delighted with the care and experiences that our little girl has received since joining Happy Days Nursery & Preschool - Thornbury in December. The warmth and professionalism of the staff has made her time in nursery a wholly positive one for both her and us. Despite the challenges caused by the current circumstances, the level of communication we have received each day has been exemplary. The 'My Day' sheet we get for her each day is always lovely, completed and takes pride of place in our home. I would recommend Happy Days Nursery & Preschool - Thornbury to other parents without a moments hesitation. We're so happy that we came across the nursery and chose it for our daughter.

My daughter started at Happy Days Nursery & Preschool - Thornbury at fourteen months old and now three years later is in her final few months before starting school in September. She settled in very quickly and has loved her time there, making lots of new friends along the way. The open plan layout of the rooms and direct access to outside space is great. The staff have been fantastic throughout, especially during trying the times of the last year. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Happy Days Nursery & Preschool - Thornbury.

I feel like he is being really well prepared for school, and the nursery is incredibly clean and well managed, which can't be said for all nurseries! So pleased my son is happy, safe and well cared for, and whenever I have had any queries or concerns, these have been dealt with swiftly and professionally.
