My son has recently started at Banana Moon, Dyce. As with every parent, it is so stressful selecting a nursery and then leaving your precious child in the care of other people.
My little one absolutely loves it here, he is so happy to go in every morning, almost jumping out of my arms. A testament
to how much fun he has. The activities are so varied and engaging for children. The app is absolutely fantastic and kept up to date throughout the day, so you can check in and see what your little one is up to. Cannot speak highly enough of the manager and her team here, they are first class.

Our 1-year-old daughter has been attending Banana Moon Nursery in Dyce four days a week for a month now, and she has been really enjoying her time there. The staff made her transitioning into nursery life very easy, starting with the complimentary settling in sessions, and the extra support in the early
days, especially with sleeping and cuddles, whatever our daughter needed. She absolutely loves her food, which is of such a high standard at the nursery. The day to day learning activities are so creative and fun, and still simple so I can try them out with her at home as well to continue her development. It gives me great peace of mind that she is well looked after, loved and happy when she is in the nursery.

Both my daughters have attended Banana Moon Dyce over the last 5.5 years and when my youngest leaves for school this year I will be sad for the connection to end. The team and management form a strong relationship with both the children and parents and there are different and exciting activities set
up for them each day. A food diary and photos of what they have been up to are uploaded to the parent app throughout the day which is great! If there are ever any issues the team are approachable and will respond to queries very quickly. They also cater well for and have a genuine concern for children with allergies. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery to other parents.

My son has been at the nursery for quite some time and he absolutely loves it, his speech has come on massively also since attending, the staff are always friendly, and communication from the nursery is 10/10 I really enjoy the updates throughout his days at nursery.

I picked my grandchild up after finishing her day at 1 pm, the service I receive when picking her up is excellent. The staff are so friendly and give me such good feedback about my granddaughter's day. She always eats her meals and enjoys her time there.

Through using many nursery’s over the years for my children. Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce is by far the most accommodating nursery I have come across. The staff are welcoming and my daughter always goes in with no problems at all. I have had bother in the past with other nurseries where she hasn’t enjoyed
going and would go in kicking and screaming. The staff at Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce can’t do enough to support not only my daughter but us as a family. I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough! The only thing I’m gutted about is the fact I didn’t put my children here sooner! She has come on leaps and bounds in her development since starting here only a year ago!

Our Son attends Banana Moon Nursery Dyce full time and he absolutely loves spending his days there. The Staff are always happy when we drop/collect him which is very reassuring as they genuinely care about the children. The Banana Moon app is so good as this gives us daily updates on the activities
that our son is taking part in and I know there are a lot of nurseries out that don't offer the app.
Our Son Loves his snack and meals at the nursery and he is trying other foods that he wouldn't normally try at home because he is watching the other children eat this which is great. I would recommend Banana Moon nursery ten times over, Staff and Nursery Management are always very helpful and always looking for ways to expand our son's knowledge.

Our son attends Banana Moon Nursery 5 days a week and he absolutely loves spending his days here. We are reassured that our son is safe and happy when attending the nursery and we get regular updates through the app which is amazing as a lot of nurseries do not have this. The staff are always happy
when we drop/collect him off every day and they genuinely care which is so nice to see. The nursery has encouraged our son to mix with other children and doing this has helped with his interactions with other children out with the nursery. He also loves the nursery food and snacks which has made him a lot more open to trying new foods. Would recommend this nursery 100 times over, with such amazing staff and managers.

I am extremely happy with how well my child has settled in at Banana Moon Dyce. I really enjoy the activities and pictures that are put up on their blossom app daily whilst I am at work of what they are doing at nursery, it puts my mind at ease knowing he is happy and settled. All staff are lovely to
speak to and the manager is supportive with any questions I’ve needed answers to during our tour of the nursery and during the settling in period.
Couldn’t recommend any more!!

My 10-month-old daughter just recently started at this nursery and I couldn't fault it. The staff are all very welcoming. The manager is helpful she put me at ease with all my questions as a first-time mum. The app that they have is such a great way of knowing what my daughter is up to I can look through
photos and see that she is being well cared for. The meals they get given are great too. I highly recommend Banana Moon Dyce. Such a variety of activities take place and I know my girl is going to develop and is in great hands.

Both of our children love attending Banana Moon. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming at drop off and pickups.
As parents, we get to see the daily updates on the app which show us what activities they've been up to, and what they had to eat at meal and snack times. It's great to see the photos
of them socialising with other children, going out for walks, and playing outside in the garden. It gives reassurance that our children are happy, getting to experience lots of opportunities and are well looked after.
The staff have done an amazing job of maintaining safety during Covid. The manager and the team have kept us updated throughout the pandemic on the guidance with their newsletters.
We have had no issues since our eldest started nearly 3 years ago. All the staff do a truly amazing job.

My little boy just started in the baby room a few weeks ago, he’s still settling in after spending the first year of his life in lockdown. The girls at the nursery have been great, I have a few friends whose little ones have just recently started attending other nurseries and just had to drop their
child off at the door and it wasn’t a very nice experience for them. We were offered settling in sessions (spent outside in the garden due to Covid) which were great for my little boy and me too. It put my mind at ease seeing him playing outside and starting to bond with his room leader so I didn’t feel as guilty/upset when his first day of nursery came.
He’s only been there for a few weeks but is already saying new words. The app is brilliant, I love seeing all the updates and photos from his day.
I am so glad we opted for Banana Moon Nursery, it has made the transition of going back to work and my little boy going to nursery a lot easier.

My daughter has been attending Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce since November and loves her time there. I have been a customer of Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce since 2016 when my other child attended for three and a half years, and now my second attends. One thing I love about this nursery is the very little
turnover of staff, which shows their care, passion and commitment to providing an exceptional childcare service, seeing many of the staff go on leave to start their own families and return to the business as mothers are amazing to see. I highly recommend the facility; the staff are so caring and know my daughter's personality so well! Her five-year-old sister still talks about Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce and how she wishes she could go still as it’s so much fun! Keep up the amazing work. You're a credit to this industry, and I know how hard you all work to achieve the standard you adhere to.

Would highly recommend Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce to anyone seeking childcare. My daughter attends two days a week, and after having a not so great time sending her to a childminder, I was really nervous about how she would settle in. However, my daughter adapted so quickly to the nursery setting,
she loves going and cannot wait for the days she goes. She’s in for breakfast to dinner and never has any problems. The nursery was great with her potty training and her sleep routines changing all the time. The staff are brilliant and are always there if you need to ask them something or change something about your child’s routine! The nursery is also extremely affordable, and the service you receive is of the highest standard.

My son attends this nursery. They have an app which they update throughout the day when he is there to advise of activities, meal times, naps and nappy changes. I love this, as I can see what he has been up to through the day, and it gives me peace of mind that he is being looked after. The activities
that they do in the nursery helps give me ideas to try similar activities at home. Whenever I have had any questions or queries, the staff are quick to answer them and to help in any way that they can.

My son loves nursery. The days he isn’t there, he mentions it a lot! The girls are absolutely great, and he has really come on development-wise, which I have no doubt is thanks in part, to the girls at the nursery.

Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce went above and beyond when children returned back to the daycare after each lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic. They ensured that the children and staff were as protected as possible and put a lot of new procedures in place. During each new change, they kept parents

My son (13 and a half months) has been attending Banana Moon for 3 months now and has come on brilliantly. I was worried he wouldn’t settle well having been in lockdown since he was 12 weeks old but the staff have all really taken the time to get to know him personally and make him feel comfortable.
The app updates are fantastic for while I am working and keep me updated on his day and progress. Would highly recommend Banana Moon they have really helped me feel confident enough to return to work with peace of mind.

Will Hanekom

Will opened his first Banana Moon at Dyce with a passion to create outstanding quality nurseries serving as a community resources and support network for people in and around Aberdeen and the shire. Will and his family are dedicated to raising the bar in early years provision and strive to support the staff teams, families and most importantly - the children. Will and his Wife Cindy are very supportive in helping the nursery meet the ideal of raising the attainment level and making Scotland the best place to raise children.

Hi, my name is Amanda,


I have been working in Early Years since I left school, and it is a vocation that I am incredibly passionate about and dedicated to. I was the Nursery Manager of Banana Moon Dyce from October 2015 until March 2025, during which time I worked alongside Will to establish a nurturing and supportive environment for children and families. Our goal has always been to reduce stress, provide high-quality care, and create a setting where children can thrive.


As we expanded to include Westhill, Denmore, and Aberdeen International, my role evolved, and I now serve as the Operational Director of Cygnus Enterprises, supporting the nurseries with their operational needs. In this capacity, I focus on guiding and mentoring teams, ensuring that high standards are maintained across all sites. I am proactive in sourcing and engaging teams with training opportunities to upskill our staff, ultimately benefiting the children by ensuring they receive the highest quality care and education.


Continuous professional development is at the heart of everything we do, and I take great pride in supporting our staff as they work towards qualifications, refine policies, and enhance practices within their settings.


It is truly a pleasure and an honour to work with children and families, witnessing the incredible progression and development of every child in our care.

Hi, my name is Serena,
I have worked in the childcare sector since 2012, and I have been employed at Banana Moon Dyce since 2017.


I hold an SVQ level 3 in Children's Care and Learning. I gained this qualification in 2015.


The thing I love most about my job is helping young minds grow and develop into confident and independent individuals. Watching them achieve in everything that they do is fulfilling. Serena completed her SVQ Level 4 in Social Services, Children and Young People in July 2022.

Hi, my name is Chloe, and I have been working in the childcare sector since 2017. My journey in early years education began at Banana Moon Dyce, and it has been an incredible experience watching children grow, develop, and flourish as individuals.


I find it so rewarding to support each child’s learning and development, helping them build confidence and essential skills for their future. I also love creating fun and engaging experiences that encourage curiosity and exploration.


I hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) and am currently working towards my SVQ Level 4 to further enhance my knowledge and skills in early years education.

Hi, my name is Chloe, and I have been working in the childcare sector since 2012. I joined the Banana Moon Dyce family in 2015 and have loved being part of such a nurturing environment.


One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is supporting children as they grow, helping them develop confidence, independence, and important life skills during their early years. I also love creating fun, hands-on learning experiences—especially through messy play, which encourages creativity and exploration!

Hi, my name is Sophie, and I began my journey with Banana Moon Dyce in January 2022. I’m proud to now hold my SVQ Level 3 in Social Services for Children and Young People, and I am thrilled to be part of the Mini Moons team. In addition to my role within the team, I am also the second-in-charge, supporting the Room Leader in providing high-quality care and fostering an enriching learning environment for the children. I am passionate about helping children grow and develop, and I look forward to continuing to expand my skills in early years education.

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I work at Baby Moon’s. I have been in the childcare sector for 14 years, and I find it incredibly rewarding to support children's growth and development through engaging activities and meaningful learning experiences. Seeing the impact of my work on their progress is truly fulfilling.


I hold an SVQ Level 3 in Children's Care and Learning, as well as an SVQ Level 4 in Social Services (Children and Young People), allowing me to further enhance my skills and knowledge in early years education.

Hi, my name is Laura, and I recently joined the Baby Room at Banana Moon Dyce as Second in Charge Room Leader. I hold both SVQ Level 3 and 4 qualifications in Childcare and have been part of the company since 2021. Over the years, I’ve gained valuable experience working across several of our settings, including Bridge of Don, Aberdeen International, and Denmore. I’m excited to bring my knowledge and passion for early years education to the team at Dyce and to help provide a calm, caring, and nurturing environment for our youngest children.

Hi, my name is Denisa, and I joined Banana Moon Dyce in June 2021. I have a true passion for loose parts play, and there's nothing I can't create with them! I am dedicated to my role and hold an HNC in Childcare, which is equivalent to an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). I work within our Full Moons room, where I love providing the children with creative and engaging experiences to support their growth and development.

Hi, my name is Teresa, and I began my journey at Banana Moon Dyce in 2019 as the nursery cook. Preparing delicious, nutritious meals for the children has become my passion, and I take great joy in creating dishes that they love.


I enjoy thinking outside the box when it comes to meal planning, introducing new flavors and ingredients to encourage children to explore different tastes. My goal is to provide healthy, balanced meals that not only nourish but also make mealtimes an enjoyable experience for every child.

Millie is a valued member of the Banana Moon Dyce team, providing support across all rooms in the nursery. Working term-time only, Millie brings flexibility and a caring approach to each age group she works with, from our youngest babies to our pre-school children. Her warm personality and willingness to jump in wherever she’s needed make her a great support to both the children and the team. Millie helps ensure smooth daily routines and brings a cheerful, consistent presence to every room she visits.
