We have an autistic son and he really struggled at his previous nursery. He was very unsettled before he got to Banana Moon Day Nursery but all the staff worked with us to make sure he got the best care possible before he moved on to primary. We couldn't be more grateful. Our younger son also attends
Banana Moon and he loves it there, the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and understanding.

Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce has cared for our children for almost eight years. They have enjoyed every visit and always come home excited and exhausted which tells me they've had a great day. The staff are all fantastic, many have been there for a long time which speaks volumes about the quality of
the management team supporting the nursery. Nursery facilities are excellent with modern outdoor space which is used as much as possible. The nursery uses an app to keep you informed of your child's day and this is always updated with stories and photos daily. The staff really are a credit to Banana Moon - always a pleasure dealing with any of them, the kids get on great with them and most crucially, I know my children are in the best care when they are at nursery. I honestly don't have a bad word to say in eight years of experience.

Both my boys have loved going to Banana Moon Day Nursery. I see them learning new skills all the time. I also love that they get outside to play most days. The staff are all really encouraging and supportive and take the time to give feedback every day. I love that they have an app to share pictures
of what they've been doing and it's a great way to communicate with the nursery.

Great nursery, feel that my child is very well cared for, his independence and personality are encouraged. The staff are very welcoming and bond very well with the children. The facilities are engaging and educational and the app is very comforting to see what they are up to during the day. It's also
very easy to contact the team and hear back within the same hour sometimes.

All the staff are so lovely and friendly. They have been such a wonderful source of support for me, as I'm a first-time mum and feel I have no clue on child development or things to be on the lookout for. They have also helped me with any forms as I find difficulty with these. They always open the door
with such a fantastic and welcoming smile. I also love getting updates on the app, it really puts my mind at ease knowing he is having a great time - sometimes I even get jealous of all the fun he's having and I want to join in.

We have enjoyed
every feedback and support given to him and as we see him move on to the next stage, all we can wish for is the best in all his future endeavours. We surely going to miss all the Stay and plays, sports days etc
Continue to be an amazing staff and impact the lives of these great kids.

Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce is a place my child goes to with a smile. The staff are always happy to help and very friendly. The manager of the nursery is supportive and consistently does her best to accommodate parents' needs. This is something that was lacking in the previous nursery my daughter attended.
They also organise "stay and play" sessions from time to time which we really enjoy attending. I highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a safe environment for their child.

Our daughter has been going to this nursery since December 2023. She absolutely loves her time there and has developed so much in just a few months. The team are amazing! Our daughter comes home really happy telling us about her day or who she has played with or what her favourite activity has been.
We are beyond grateful for all the hard work the team put in to make her enjoy her nursery days so much! Especially helping her with building friendships. The communication is excellent and I enjoy seeing updates on the app each day. It's so nice to see. Thank you for all your hard work!

When my child started at nursery she was so very nervous, count a couple a month's in and now she looks forward to playing with her friends. I can only commend Banana Moon for helping her with her transition. The staff are friendly, and caring. The activities that she gets up to is fantastic she's delighted
to tell me about her day all the way home and I love receiving the updates through the app so we can connect even when I'm not with her. Thank you Banana Moon.

My twins have developed in leaps and bounds at Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce. I see the advancement in their cognition, speech and their social development and the joy in their eyes when I drop them off and pick them up! The practitioners are great at understanding the dynamics of twins, and treat them
as individuals giving individual feedback concerning their development. I have been impressed with their affection towards my children and more than anything their evidence-based activities where the children are learning effectively through play. As a Neuroscience researcher, finding a nursery that is nurturing, communicative and up-to-date with evidence-based practices in early years development was very important to me. Banana Moon Dyce have met and exceeded my desires. From the contagious smiles and energy of the staff, all the way to the chef who has transformed my twins' eating patterns - I couldn't have picked a better environment for them to play, learn and develop in!

My two children started at Banana Moon Dyce just under a year ago. My little girl was only 7 months when she started but the ladies in Baby Moons always made us feel at ease, answered all our questions and followed her home routine very closely. My little girl is thriving at nursery and thoroughly enjoys
all the learning experiences. My boy is in Full Moons and has come on great socially, and is learning new things every day. My boy was extremely fussy before starting at Banana Moon and is now eating a wide variety of nutritious meals. Both children have ample opportunity for outdoor play and the app is great for updates throughout the day.

Would recommend this nursery to everyone! As a mum who struggled a lot with postpartum anxiety, the thought of sending my child to nursery was really scary but Banana Moon Day Nursery are excellent with my son and take away any anxieties I have.
It’s so obvious they genuinely care about the children
there, and communication is excellent. My son always comes home happy and well looked after.
The app is excellent as I get to see exactly what he eats and does during the day. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.914) out of 10 for Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.914 for Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce is calculated as follows: ( (353 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 382 Ratings = 4.914
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 number of registered child places is 16.2, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

As we expanded to include Westhill, Denmore, and Aberdeen International, my role evolved, and I now serve as the Operational Director of Cygnus Enterprises, supporting the nurseries with their operational needs. In this capacity, I focus on guiding and mentoring teams, ensuring that high standards are maintained across all sites. I am proactive in sourcing and engaging teams with training opportunities to upskill our staff, ultimately benefiting the children by ensuring they receive the highest quality care and education.

Continuous professional development is at the heart of everything we do, and I take great pride in supporting our staff as they work towards qualifications, refine policies, and enhance practices within their settings.

It is truly a pleasure and an honour to work with children and families, witnessing the incredible progression and development of every child in our care.
