My two children go to Banana Moon in Dyce. The older one is in Full Moons and have been going since 11 month old. The experience with the nursery has been extremely positive from the beginning, my child has created bonds with a lot of the teachers, comes home excited and tells us about the day and the
things they have learnt. Children will always have challenging times too and they are supported by staff to learn how to navigate these together.
My younger child is in Baby Moons and took about 2 months to settle in and happily go into nursery and we have all been supported through this transition by staff with empathy and love. Since my child settled I can see how they have grown in confidence, built relationship with staff and the other babies.
The nursery app is giving us a wonderful insight into what our children are up to, all the nutritious meals they are having etc.
The garden shared by the whole nursery gives an opportunity for my children to play together and all ages to mix.
Reply from Amanda Penny, Director at Banana Moon Day Nursery DyceThank you so much for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that both of your children are happy and settled at Banana Moon Dyce.

It's wonderful to know your eldest has built such strong relationships with the team in Full Moons and enjoys sharing what they've been learning each day. We're also really glad we could support your younger child through their settling period in Baby Moons - transitions like this can take time and we're delighted they are now feeling confident and happy with us.

We're pleased you enjoy the updates on the app and that the shared garden gives your children the chance to play together. Thank you for trusting us with their early years.

My 17 month old daughter has been going since August 2025 and we are so pleased with our experience so far. The staff very quickly built a solid relationship with her; The team in the baby moons are so warm and caring, it's obvious they genuinely love what they do. She happily walks in by herself every
day now which shows how comfortable and secure she feels. The nursery is always clean, with a fun and engaging environment too and I love that we get pictures and updates on the app throughout the day. I'd recommend Banana Moon Dyce 100%

Banana moon provides a wide variety of activities for children throughout the day all contributing to learning and development but most importantly great fun. There's a good mix of healthy food on the menu which my little one loves. Staff provide updates on the app throughout the day and are friendly
at pick up/drop off. They encourage engagement between parents and nursery through stay and plays, photos from home etc

My Son absolutely loves going in to his nursery. The workers always greet him with a smile and he rarely even looks back at me as I drop him off!
I love receiving updates on the nursery app throughout the day, showing me pictures and updates what he's getting up to! He has access to so many fun activities
that we couldn't give him at home.

We couldn't be happier with the nursery. Our child, who started in baby moons at 1 year old and is now a full moon, at almost 4 years old, thrives in this nursery setting.
The staff and management team are always welcoming and friendly, there's lots of active communication and responses are quick
and efficient if we get in touch for whatever reason. The overall atmosphere is happy and relaxed.
The meals are fresh and healthy, and food allergies are catered for very well, giving us real peace of mind.
Reply from Amanda Penny, Director at Banana Moon Day Nursery DyceThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. My toddler has been attending Banana Moon Dyce for only a matter of weeks now, however I am exceptionally pleased with the care she receives. She warmed to staff quickly as I knew she would, they are all very accommodating and reassuring and nothing feels like too much of an ask. Personally, for me
the attentive feedback and updates given as and when via a parent app helps me feel still included in her days. The environment remains calm and safe with opportunity to come and go from the garden as pleased. Very child led initiative with play, it would be lovely to see more of the curiosity approach introduced. Room sizes could be larger to give more opportunities for play/exploring and activities.
Reply from Amanda Penny, Director at Banana Moon Day Nursery DyceThank you so much for your lovely review. We also really appreciate your feedback and suggestions, which help us to continually reflect on and improve our environment and practice. Thank you for choosing Banana Moon Dyce and for trusting us with your child's early years.

My son only goes to nursery once a week but it is quite clear to see that he really benefits from being there. He obviously loves nursery and all of the activities the staff set-up for the little ones. We can really tell he has bonded well with all of the staff too. He can be quite a fussy eater at
home but the food and cooking seems to be right up my little boy's street as I often see that he has eaten all, if not, more than one portion of his food! From our first meeting at the nursery, we never had any doubt that this was the nursery for our little boy. Each staff member is nurturing and involved with every little one there. We love all of the additional activities that the nursery create not only inside of the nursery, but outside as well that we can get involved in at home. We love the stay and plays, where we can join our little boy in his nursery environment and see how confident he is. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for one!
Reply from Amanda Penny, Director at Banana Moon Day Nursery DyceThank you so much for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that your little boy is enjoying his time at Banana Moon Dyce and that he is benefiting from all the activities we set up for the children. It's fantastic to know that he has bonded so well with our staff and that the food we provide is something he looks forward to. We always aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment, and it's heartwarming to hear that you can see that through the care your son receives. We're also delighted that you enjoy the additional activities and stay-and-play sessions! It's such a pleasure for us to watch the children grow in confidence and to share those moments with families. Thank you for recommending us so highly - it truly means the world to us. We look forward to continuing to care for your little one!

I must say I was so stressed about sending my daughter to nursery at first. I didn't know which nursery she should go to but after speaking with a few people and reading reviews we chose Banana Moon Nursery in Dyce. It was the right choice. I'm so happy that my daughter goes there because I know she's
in a safe and nurturing environment where she can thrive. The staff there are caring, and supportive, and really take the time to understand each child's unique needs. I love seeing my daughter excited to go every day, which shows how much she enjoys the activities and the friends she's making. The nursery's focus on both learning and play allows her to develop new skills in a fun, creative way. I feel reassured knowing she's receiving a well-rounded experience that will help her grow, both socially and emotionally.

I was incredibly anxious as I'm sure a lot of first-time mums are about leaving my son at a nursery so I could go back to work. Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce made the entire experience of him getting settled into the nursery stress-free. I love that they have the app that gets updated throughout the
day so you know exactly what your child is up to and you get to see pictures of them having fun playing with their friends. He has been at Bananamoon Dyce just over 2 years now and I completely trust them with my son and my son loves it there.

Our daughter loves nursery. They honesty have been so helpful with my shift pattern forever changing. Nothing is ever an issue.
We love hearing what our daughter has been up to when she gets out of nursery and the app is fantastic to see our daughter's progress. They aren't only supportive of her
in the nursery but also of her development at home with ideas and explanation of the educational factors to my daughter.
The nursery definitely looks after and cares not only for the children but for the parents aswell.

Poor weather in the northeast, the nursery ran like clockwork, our daughter was treated safely and with care that we value greatly which allowed us to carry on with our own working day knowing our daughter was in good care, we had no disruption to our daughters care days during the bad snow which was

The nursery staff are absolutely fantastic! They are all very engaged with the children and you can see they have built connections with them all. They appear to respond quickly to any child who is upset and they always act when a child might be in doing a dangerous activity.
Whenever a staff member
has left for maternity leave, I hear parents discussing their worries that their child may struggle with their key person gone and I think it's a testament to the staff that parents express that their child has built a new, strong relationship with another staff member!
The lady who does the cooking has done a great job, as my fussy children seem to only eat at nursery.
They take the children out and help them engage with the world around them which is extremely important at this age.
They're very good at dealing with children and adapting how they work with the children and treating them as an individual.

The nursery keeps developing and their policies are updated frequently. I've got the feeling that since my daughter started nursery three years ago, many things changed for the better which doesn't mean that it was bad before - just the opposite. I think they keep reviewing their rules when necessary,
are very flexible and change as per children and parents' needs, for example in terms of health and safety or learning/playing facilities. Staff and management are helpful and never irresponsive.

My son is in Baby Moons and currently transitioning to Mini Moons - he absolutely loves nursery and all his friends and the staff. Over Christmas, he has been excited and talking about mini-moons at 2 years old.
The staff are fantastic and plan varied activities daily, work with the parents on issues
and have been supportive through eczema/allergies in regards to creams, medications needed and adaptations to diet etc.
Could not speak more highly of the staff and nursery.

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.914 for Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce is calculated as follows: ( (353 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 382 Ratings = 4.914
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Banana Moon Day Nursery Dyce is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 number of registered child places is 16.2, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have been working in Early Years since I left school, and it is a vocation that I am incredibly passionate about and dedicated to. I was the Nursery Manager of Banana Moon Dyce from October 2015 until March 2025, during which time I worked alongside Will to establish a nurturing and supportive environment for children and families. As we expanded to include Westhill, Denmore, and Aberdeen International, my role evolved, and I now serve as the Operational Director of Cygnus Enterprises, supporting the nurseries with their operational needs. In this capacity, I focus on guiding and mentoring teams, ensuring that high standards are maintained across all sites. I am proactive in sourcing and engaging teams with training opportunities to upskill our staff, ultimately benefiting the children by ensuring they receive the highest quality care and education.

Continuous professional development is at the heart of everything we do, and I take great pride in supporting our staff as they work towards qualifications, refine policies, and enhance practices within their settings.
