Building Blocks Nursery provides a happy and safe environment for all children to play and learn in and takes great care in providing high standards of childcare and education for children aged three months to five years.

The large detached building provides ample space for children to experience a variety of activities and explore the many facilities on offer.

The nursery has a range of qualified and experienced staff who are all either trained to NNEB/NVQ 3 or equivalent, or are working towards this qualification. They also pride themselves on the number of senior staff with Level 5 and 6 qualifications (degree level) who work well to lead the team.

My child enjoys coming. The team keeps us informed and is supportive of the child. The team are genuinely interested in the child's development and well-being. Both children have had a positive time at Building Blocks.

I would definitely recommend Building Block Nursery. Our child has been attending for just over two years and has progressed so well. The staff have been great and the support has been amazing. We will continue to send our child to this nursery until she is ready to leave for school.

The nursery staff are always friendly and kind. I love the updates throughout the day. Meals are varied and balanced. My son loves coming to the nursery, he has a great bond with all the staff, especially his key worker.

My son has been coming to this nursery since January 2022 and he really struggled to settle for a few weeks. The ladies at this nursery made it so welcoming to him and me. They messaged me to let me know he was ok and had settled down, answered my phone calls to say he was fine. He still goes now and
loves it! He has made so many lovely memories being here! I love that all his pictures go onto the app so I can see what he gets up to daily!

My little girl has attended Building Blocks Nursery - Great Barr since she was 10 months old. As she was born in lockdown she struggled to settle due to not being around people but the girls were fantastic and so caring with her and made me feel at ease when leaving her with them and I was always reassured
and the girls kept me updated on how she was throughout the day, she soon settled and built fantastic relationships with all the staff, she now loves coming into nursery and talks about all the staff often and how they’re her ‘best friends’. The management team is also brilliant as they always keep us updated on everything and will always answer any questions or queries we have and are very approachable. Would highly recommend this nursery.

Building Blocks has been a massive part of our family with my eldest son attending a few years ago and now my youngest son attends and has done since he was 7 months old. The care, affection, learning opportunities and love my son receives, is outstanding. He has come on so much during his time and
he really loves going to nursery. The staff keep me updated on anything my child is doing, tells me of celebrations and key events and keeps me updated on his progress and development, on a regular basis. His needs are met at all times and the staff have been brilliant quite recently, supporting him with his toilet training. My son participates in inviting activities and experiences that push him to achieve his very best at all times. I would highly recommend Building Blocks to anyone. A fantastic nursery with a lot of love to give each child.

I would highly recommend Building Blocks to any parent who are looking to give their child the best start in education. My daughter is having the best time at Building Blocks. It is her second home, providing a home to home environment. My daughter can't wait to go into nursery every morning. There
are a number of reasons why:
1) The staff are absolutely wonderful and tend to her needs at the highest professional standard. She has made some lovely relationships with the staff too.
2) Her day is packed with engaging activities to keep her stimulated throughout the day.
3) They provide her with a lot of support to help her make progress.
4) The team communicate really with one another, so my daughter's needs are always met.
5) My daughter has additional needs and has a fantastic send coordinator, who ensures her learning needs are always met and reviews are put in place.
These are just a few reasons why. I cannot thank them enough for all that they do, day to day.

My daughter has been attending nursery since January 2022 when she was only 10 months old. Ever since, we have had the most amazing journey with everything that Building Blocks is. I worked as an early years practitioner myself, so I can probably judge a setting from different perspectives, but from
the first visit I thought it will be the perfect place for my little bundle of joy and I was not wrong at all. From the layout of every room, to resources, staff members, management, communications levels, Building Blocks for us is our day-to-day happy little family and perfect place for our daughter to interact, learn, play, develop while we are away from her. Excellent nursery. Kind, caring staff that have genuinely got to know my son and they work really hard to ensure his time at nursery is happy and fulfilled. There is a big emphasis on education and development, which I am really pleased with. The nursery always looks really clean and the communication
is great as they always update the app with what's going on and what my son has been up to. They do lots of different activities (messy play/arts and crafts/music etc). I would really recommend this nursery. I am so pleased my son was able to get a place here.

My little boy has attended the Building Blocks Nursery since he was a baby, till July this year, when he graduated. The staff at the nursery are amazing. Everyone has helped my child to grow in every aspect.
He was a shy little boy, I have noticed how much his speech has developed and how confident
he is now.
The team also helped us with the potty training. Cannot thank the staff enough for his great development!
The setting is very clean and welcoming, the nursery has fantastic facilities and a large outside area.
They keep us well updated through the app and you can also discuss your child'sprogress every day.

The nursery staff are amazing, my son has been coming here (he has additional needs including mobility issues) and nothing is too much trouble. The level of support is second to none. They have been so encouraging and understanding with all situations!
I would recommend this nursery to anyone and
everyone, they really care for the children and everyone plays a part in the children's development. I will be very sad when my little one leaves.

Job Title: Managing Director Joined: 2002

As the Managing Director, I work full time to oversee all three of the Building Blocks Nursery branches and work closely with the branch managers. I have worked in private daycare for over 26 years and feel passionately about ensuring the service we provide is of a high quality. I have my NNEB diploma and a degree in early years childhood studies. I also have my level 5 management qualification.
